I was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago. Surgery removed the cancer, but I also had preventative chemo/radiation as the cancer had spread to two lymph nodes. Telling my boy I had cancer was so hard, especially with him old enough to have met cancer before. Going through treatment was horrendous, and trying to stay me through it all was incredibly hard.
If I had been forced to announce what I was going through to the world, open that door into my most frightening and vulnerable time, because people just couldn't mind their own damn business and think that just maybe people are hiding stuff because it's private and personal, and they don't WANT to talk about it yet....well I'd be a lot less gracious and dignified than Kate was in that announcement.
Now I hope she can be left alone so focus all her energy where it belongs, on getting through her treatment, and being with her family.

No, she can't be left alone. You people don't get it. She's a public figure she holds a title. There is no expectation of privacy. The family is supported by the British public and therefore obligated to report even their medical status. Harry has been trying to fight for more privacy but no one supported him in his fight. So, they get what they get. They can only ask for privacy but they can't make the press give them that privacy.

As a young mother who went through abdominal surgery, only to find out I had stage 3 cancer and also did “preventative” chemotherapy, Kate just know I am saying a prayer for you tonight. I know just how you felt when you said how you were going to break it to your children. The coming months are going to be very, very tough. You will be weak and very sick, especially if it’s the same chemotherapy I had taken. Why is she calling it "preventative?" It is not preventative. She has the disease. Hopefully, It is curative treatment. This is coming from a nurse of over 40 years. We never used "preventative" for a confirmed diagnosis of ca.

My Aunt has a stage 4 breast cancer. After her breast removal operation she underwent chemotherapy, which happened when she was 24 years old and the doctor told her that she only had a year to live. But God has planned for her to be cancer free after her chemotherapy and live until she was 92 years old. She died because of old age and not of her cancer. @@188CRA I think (though can’t be certain) they are pointing out the difference between the average Joe with cancer compared to those in the Royal family. Kate won’t have to endure long waiting lists or worry about getting the best possible treatment, or find out if certain meds she needs are dependent on her postcode. She won’t have to stress about financial issues or worry if she’s too tired to look after her children. She has the comfort of knowing that she will be given the best treatment there is and thus have the best chance there is of beating her disease. She will have the best consultants, the best therapists, and she’ll be able to take as much time off as she feels is necessary to recover. And if she needs psychological support, she’ll have the best psychologists at hand too. Don’t think for one minute I’m suggesting Kate is having an easy time of it; no one with a cancer diagnosis has it easy. She deserves all the sympathy and compassion she is receiving, in my opinion. I think the OP is pointing out that others in the same or similar situations don’t have such privileges, and as a result, their odds might not be as good as they ought to be. We pay for the Royals, and we also pay for our NHS service through taxation and National Insurance. People are becoming increasingly upset that our NHS is not delivering as it should. What was once a very efficient system is now struggling, and as a result, people suffer and die unnecessarily

I’m not even going to go on about the terrible situation with his brother.
And while all this is going on, at the same time, he has to deal with the threat that he might have to step up and take over the thrown if Charles is no longer able to fulfill that role. One can only hope he has all the strength and support and that everything will end well and everybody will be healthy.

She really is a class act, and be fitting of a queen to be, so many others just don’t get it, even in her own family and relatives. And around the world for that matter, but this woman has displayed, enormous, strength, dignity , they’ve treated her horribly in recent months for absolutely no reason whatsoever in the media.
GIVE THIS WOMAN SPACE!!! She is fighting for her life and her kids must be so scared for their “mummy”. This is a time when she need not to be a princess, but a mother fighting to stay alive for her children. Society needs to give her that! ESPECIALLY the media!!!!

I’m glad she shared her health status to lead by great example for those suffering of cancer. Regarding comments of her being pressured to share her status, it’s fair being a public figure. May she heal fast.
Anyone can get Cancer. Do not dig into other people's lives as you don't die. And those who suffered from it or at least a family member of a cancer patient knows how hard it is to cope up with. Please let her have her privacy at this difficult time. Bless her for a speedy recovery.

I was diagnosed with kidney cancer two years ago. As a single mother in her 40's with 3 kids (mine are older, though, 2 were already over 18), I can remember the struggle to just get the words out of my mouth when telling my kids and parents. I can't even imagine having to tell the world. She and her family are in my thoughts and prayers, and I really hope people leave them alone.
God bless her, her young family and husband. God bless the King also. They are going through a very worrying time as anyone with that cursed C word has to, just like the rest of us. It is one of the levellers that reminds us just where we all stand in the scheme of things, very fragile. I must say Catherine has always shown nothing but the same grace, dignity and dedication that her late and beloved mother in law displayed and would be very proud of. With the advances in treatment available there is the hope for a great outcome but she still deserves our prayers and best wishes

It takes guts to tell the world you have cancer. The Princes of Wales probably felt compelled to act because of the wider situation. It is great telling cancer patients they are not alone, however The princess of Wales is up against it, she stands alone in her fight because that is reality. She is remarkable how she thinks of others in these terrible circumstances. Love and support is one thing but reality tells me LEAVE the Princess alone and let her fight the illness, that is the best way of ensuring she makes it through successfully. She is still young with a young family, it is with peace and understanding from the public that will aid and facilitate her recovery. Media should take her off the radar until she is well.
It seems the video was made with AI technology, plus it was very cold outside to wear just a thin sweater in 12 degrees celsius. Who knows what really happen withthe poor woman.
