I have looked after many women with breast cancer over the years and many have gone on to live very long lives. However, they always tell me the biggest fear they have is this "dark cloud" hanging over them that the cancer could recur. Many have joined support groups to deal with this fear

I underwent colon cancer surgery May 2019, and I believe I am cancer free. My prayers are with Princess Kate and her family. Princess Kate is young and I believe she will have a complete recovery.
I had stage 2 cancer over four years ago and am now 79 years old. I also had stage 1 breast cancer May 2022 and had a lumpectomy June 2022. I believe I am now cancer free and believe she will fully recover. People everywhere will keep her in our prayers.
She's so beautiful and well thought of. I hate to hear of her being seriously ill. Reading the comments from cancer survivors helps.

Both my wife and I have dealt with cancer, and the Princess of Wales comments were powerful for those that are dealing with it today. She deserves praise for her recognition that others are also suffering that illness as well as our sincere hope she recovers soon.

Chemotherapy or radiation therapy starts AFTER the surgical wounds are completely healed. These treatments slow down the healing process. I had a similar situation 10 years ago. We were all surprised with the cancer diagnosis. Ten years following my chemotherapy and I’m healthy. All chemotherapy is different for each patient. I hope her treatment is easy on her.

Every cancer diagnosis is treated on an individual basis. No two are alike. I had to wait two months post surgery for beginning chemo. Initial pathology in the operating room suggested they got all the cancer, no chemo or radiation necessary but lab pathology of my innards two days later determined Stage III not stage I as originally thought. A pre treatment PET scan revealed a pesky little cancerous lymph node was hiding behind my spine confirming the need for 6mo of chemo and radiation. Cancer patients should always receive PET scans because of their ability to pinpoint cancer unlike MRI's or CT scans which cannot .
That's interesting information. She didn't look like she was preparing for chemotherapy but you explaining it makes sense.

Yeah...sure. Stage 4 colon cancer means it has metazisized to another part of the body and stage 4 is not curable or able to go I to remission. Ur full of it.

Please pray for this young mother. I lost my own as an infant and this hit me deeply. We were never told. Our mother had no time after her diagnosis- it was the 1960’s and nothing could be done.

My sister went through this and found out she had cancer and it sounds like the same place as Kate .. that was like 3, years ago and so far she is cancer free and doing fine.. she went through chemotherapy and had to have a colostomy bag but all of that is gone now and she looks great..

Princess Catherine made her statement now because the children are on school holidays. So, it would have been released now even if there weren't any silly conspiracy theories.
School vacation, but also she won't be returning to royal duties after Easter. Now, hopefully, the press will leave her alone to get on with her treatment and recovery.
She may very well have to take the next year off. At least several months to get through the chemo and recover from it.

As a cancer survivor my thoughts go out to Kate. I hope the public news journalist leave the family alone to get though this very difficult time in any family.
It is a hard journey to come to realize and to accept. I had no choice a I was a single mom with a son, I had no choice but to fight.
I don’t know for sure, but this sounds a lot like what I went through with Ovarian CA. (Of course there are other CA’s that require abdominal surgery). During my first surgery, which was an exploratory laparotomy, it included a smaller external vertical incision, a larger internal vertical incision, removal of the tumor, ovaries, uterus, lymph nodes, omentum, appendix, and cavity washings to detect for cancer. The samples could be tested right away in the O.R. And deemed “clear,” however they still have to be sent to pathology for further testing to see if the cancer is invasive and to identify what type it is. The surgery is HUGE! You can lose a lot of blood and it requires at least an 8 week recovery. It is possible that her OR results were clear, but the samples sent to pathology were not and that is how she just found out about the disagnosis. Either way, sounds like it was caught early, and IF it is Ovarian CA, that is great news! Every woman should know the signs and symptoms of Ovarian CA, earlier caught, the better. Praying for her recovery, I hope in the future she can be an advocate for the type of CA she has to help educate others on the signs and symptoms.
I'm not usually a follower of the media's obsession with the Royal family but the way that the Princess of Wales has been treated by the UK press on recent weeks has been incredibly sad.
Her video tonight is a direct result of the relentless hounding and wildly obtrusive speculation of the disgusting media we have in this country.
Her illness is not ours to share and were it not for the the tabloid frenzy thay forced an intrusive spotlight on Katie's situation, she wouldn't have had to post her video.
She's a woman, mother and wife, dealing with cancer. The media intrusion of press, broadcast and online commented forced her and her family to make her ordeal public. I can't imagine what she is going through right now, but I'm certain that she doesn't need to deal with her ordeal under the public spotlight.
Let's leave them alone. Public sympathy shouldn't be used to sell newspapers, draw TV and radio audiences, and online traffic for spurious click bait. It's a private and personal situation that doesn't need to be made infinitely harder under public scrutiny.
Again, I'm not usually a fan of the monarchy, but that video from Kate really made me feel both sad and angry. She clearly wanted to put her family first but was forced to share her deeply traumatic situation against her will.
Let's leave her alone. She had her family around her and our best wishes to help her through this difficult time. But let her recover quickly and privately.
She needs to focus on herself without the pressure of the world on her mind.
She will get through this, and we can cheer her recovery when she is ready to share her journey publicly.
Prince William lost his mother at the direct result of media obsession. He and his family cannot let history repeat itself by making things tougher during this difficult time.
The news commentators that have unfairly turned this into a media frenzy should be ashamed of themselves and need to back off.

We are all wishing her a very speedy recovery and I'm optimistic that she was diagnosed early enough to minimise the severity of the cancer.
I just hope that the media respect her right to privacy and that they don't repeat the unforgivable attacks that they have consciously targeted towards he over the past few weeks.
The same goes for other members of the family. What if Megan were in this situation? The media would be equally forced to replace their hostility with compassion.
I saw Catherine's video and just felt for her. When she talked about her children, I felt like she was robbed of her own agency, because of the savage news culture that we have complicity enabled.

My son died before his 40th birthday , his youngest was five, healthy young people are perishing far too young. I was a young 50 years when diagnosed with cancer, I did not die but became paralyzed from the radiation required for the surgery to remove the tumor. An outcome I would not wish on anyone. Cancer and the possibilities are not easy too discuss with children of any age. The public speculation may cause the children unnecessary harm. I send light, love, healing energy to the entire family. Please allow sensitivity as these are all members of a family. Cancer treatment takes twists and turns, there seem to be veery fees known facts to give the loving supportive public. The gloving support may be in allowing the family to forget this is happening. Cancer will always be on their mind please allow wall of them moments of joy. We love all of you.

It’s likely this announcement was made due to the fact it would probably have got out anyway and they would have looked like liars given they said it was not cancer. And coming right on the heels of the photo gate, it wouldn’t have looked great on them. Who knows what to believe anymore even in terms of when it was discovered. There are many people all over the world who have the same exact health condition that Catherine has and have absolutely no help or money to get the help they need to help them battle their health concerns. EVERY LIFE is of value and deserves special attention. NO MATTER, your status. My question is: What can be done to help ALL HUMANITY dealing with a health crisis? WAKE UP, PEOPLE. My own brother was just diagnosed with the fastest growing prostate cancer that a man can have and was told that recently, he has 3 to 6 months to live. While it may be normal for the public to speculate on her condition, it's always best to show kindness in abiding by her wishes. It’s not only the media who should feel ashamed but every person on social media who perpetuated the conspiracy theories, affairs etc. where is compassion and respect for someone who has always carried herself with dignity. They would do well to look at her example of courage and putting her family first and dealing with tremendous stress, living their sad self absorbed lives.
Being polite isn't dignified. It's sweeping things under the rug. It's the elephant in the room. Being reserved.. eloquent, proper, isn't always the right thing to do. Sometimes, a good argument clears bad air. It gets it off the chest and prevents sickness. It's right for everyone but not for u.

My brother had colon cancer removed 2 years ago. We nearly lost him due to a leak, his whole colon has been removed because he left it too late. He does not need a stoma bag. He is now cancer free but needs to go for yearly checkups. I’m not sure why Catherine needs Chemo but I can only assume the cancer has spread further. My brother is leading a normal life without his colon obviously a different diet but his life has been spared. My thoughts with Catherine her children and William. I pray a speedy recovery. She is doing well to even give a speech after such a serious operation. We love you Kate. Get well soon our country needs you 🙏❤️
I hope all the people who said awful things apologize for their gossip and mean behavior. Wishing this family the best. I lost my sister-in-law 2 years ago from cancer, so I understand how awful it is. Peace ~

I understand how Kate feels. I was diagnosed with cancer at 43 and had 2 children to raise. I'm now 62. My best wishes to Kate for a full recovery.
