I’m older than you ma’am. The definition of middle class has changed according to what you described. A Career, a home with land, a 401K/Pension IS middle class. It is only within the recent 10 years that elements of being the rich class like residual income and investments, passive income earning businesses and rental income have become considered UPPER MIDDLE CLASS or LOWER RICH. It’s a play on the economy meant to displace millions of Americans from their classes and create further wealth Gaps. You need to know that because it has EVERYTHING to do with your ethnicity.
Social security and 401k were meant to be supplemental retirement plans and not primary.

There aren't any jobs there though & once everybody starts to move there, everything there becomes unaffordable.
@@theofficialblackdirectoryYep my family came from those areas including Louisiana and they all moved West into Texas before I was born so I have no cultural attachment at all. They all said the same thing - Dallas and Houston had more jobs.
Texas is a shitty as state to live in though. I'd rather pay higher taxes in CA and get better schools, roads, hospitals, JOBS, etc
But you have none of those. Bad roads, hospitals and schools are importing Phillipines to get help in California. You are living in a fairy tale.

I have a brother in Texas, no one goes there for vacation. Texas weather is terrible, the White Supremacists run your government, 😂, California has more universities than most of the country combined. Our public schools are better and you only have to compare teacher salaries to know this. Yeah, the only people that think Texas is better are white supremacists and right wingers 😂😂. California is the 5th largest economy in the world. Texas weather is terrible and the government is run by white supremacists. California has more universities than most of the country combined, and we have better public schools. The simple fact that k-12 teachers get paid way better in California over Texas is a sign of this. I have a brother in Texas and he comes to LA for vacation, no one goes to Texas. California has a powerful economy while Texas has a powerful narrative for White Supremacists/right wingers. I'm not sharing opinions, these are facts. Our population is growing, and so is our economy along with it. Texas is a joke and the entire state smells like BBQ sauce 😂😂😂
