I play single player on arma3 on this map with exile so basically dayz single player, AI bandits and friendlys 2 trade with, zombies and Loot, food water temperature etc but I always know my gear is safe when u play day z u have a hard time finding the same server and if u get killed ur back 2 square 1
That's what it was like the first half of the amount of time I spent playing, and I simply just loved the atmosphere and the gameplay so much that I didn't care. Then my friends and I started playing the more modded versions that had base building and safes, so we could store our gear and come back to it if we died. I have a bunch of videos on my channel of those times.
Those early days were awesome! So many adventures. I played also DayZ more than anything else. Thousands of hours lol. Wish I could repeat them. Maybe one they there will come an equal good game. Still waiting for that.
I've spent more time on this map than any other in any game. Feels wierd that I could actually go visit the places IRL. Great video man, you really know how to move your camera and cut away at the right times :)
Yep i visited Elektro and it was alot more houses!! The town layout was still kinda the same, but god dam there was houses going up sniper hill! Plus the apartment buildings going towards the Dam..they should update Elektro to that on DayZ!

One thing you notice, there are far more deciduous trees in real life. They seem to have overdone it with the evergreens in Chernarus, and it ultimately makes it look bad vice having a lot of clumpy deciduous trees.
I only played Dayz for about a month on console but I loved the map so much. The game worlds in most open-world games feel like amusement parks with locations placed every 15 feet of each other. I'll take realistic and spread-out over convenient any day. Chenarus is believable.

Ardman 55 It does have more shit. Novo, sver, Svet, and some other small towns. Novo and sver are close to the biggest cities in Chernarus. So whatever "only has some enterable buildings" means, I don't think you've ever played the Standalone. Don't get me wrong, the Mod is fun to play. Also did you know you could still play the Mod if you love it so much? Amazing, eh?
Damn you Bohemia. I could probably navigate that region better than my own home town. This was beautiful though. I enjoyed the nostalgia and reflection all at once. Made me tear up a bit :3
OMG, I can't believe I am studying at university located in Chernarus! - University of Jan Evangelista Purkyne (UJEP) in Usti nad Labem (Aussig) - approx SW corner of Chernarus map.
But UnL is not located in Chernarus. It is the "centre" of Ústí region. But main city of Chernarus is Cherno which is almost in the midle of the South coast but Usti nad Labem should be on west side of the south coast. :) Maybe they will create a larger map. I would like the whole Ústí region because I live here :D
Podle jména píšu česky Města a vesnice samozřejmě nesouhlasí, jinak by polovina jižního pobřeží byla zabrána Krásným Březnem a Neštěmicemi. Ale i tak, zpravidla když je tam osídlení ve skutečnosti, tak ve zmenšené míře je osídlení na stejném místě i ve hře. Poukazoval jsem na to, že terén je modelován podle Ústecké krajiny. Jedinou chybu kterou jsem udělal, jak tak koukám na svůj původní příspěvek je záměna East a West (což je, přiznávám, docela ostuda když studuju anglistiku na UJEPu a hned to opravím)
FildasKirk No ony vlastně Neštěmice jsou Chernogorsk. Mapa je uplne stejná a ty obytné zony Chapaevsk, Dubky a Noviselky sou uplně okopčený. Každopádně je škoda že tam není alespoň kousek Ústí. :D
Such a nice side by side comparison. Its awesome to see the real place where we are so used to be running around! I wonder if they are going to change the over population of pine trees for the real ones they have :D
The biggest difference is probably the vegetation. The game version has mainly tall and thin pine trees, which give it a different vibe from the real place.

Here is a picture of in-game at a flat angle and completely still." Some of the quadrotor shots and edits were pretty impressive. Who knows, maybe you could do one of these for Stratis in Arma 3 :)
You didn't show the Cherno soviet era apartment blocks. They are literally ripped straight from somewhere around there as well. Even the little super markets and bus ticket booths are exact replicas. Some DayZ standalone player that lives there were posting pictures of it. Pretty awesome stuff non the less!

Voluntarist Yes I do ,get alot of players (alot) and give them .22 air-rifles or paint bullets (Simunition , not paintballs) and you have yourself a fun time. Look one can dream :p

i knew that chernarus is based of a real life location but i newer knew that it has this level of detail. well done bohemia.
