You had the same reaction as me, I thought it was just 2 new characters to get the competition marks...then I found out about the 17 new Tainted characters.
I lost my mind, when I saw the second character selection screen. I was just like: OH NO, NOT AGAIN. I used to have all achievements before repentance. Not sure if I will endure enough to get the repentance marks. I got tainted Lost, but no other completion marks, because the beast is brutally long and there's so much shit on the screen. Plus if you don't get some one makes you smaller pills, it's basically impossible to dodge some of the attacks :/ mother is also brutally hard, but at least the fight is not that long. Still I'm old and slow ;)
I got all the way to home before even learning about tainteds... only well after the run ended I learned that I completely whiffed getting my first tainted for free... just collected my last items for completion today tho, Dead God when The Marathon gets unbugged!
Your game was crashing because you kept switching to Tainted Isaac, because he is CODED to have just 8 items, the game crashes because you had more than 8
@@jkengland832 Just wanted to point it out. I've done a few tests with the clicker on the Tainted characters, and it always crashes on Isaac. You might also know this already, but if you become Tainted Forgotten you won't be able to move as just the bone pile will spawn (without the soul)

Damn, congrats, i can't even comprehend the determination of some people Dead god takes so much game time that if runs are usually like 40 minutes long and you have to do 12 marks (Taking out 2 of them because of chest and cathedral or sheol and dark room, wich can be accessed in the same run) you get around 400 minutes of game time per character, and also you have to do the same thing with 34 different characters, wich results in 13,600 MINUTES, WICH IS 226.6 GODDAMN HOURS, and all of that time without considering the amount of time required to literally touch every item in the game Frickin madlad
It really isn't that hard (despite the nerf to psy fly and other exploits). Blank card is still awesome, he should start with it imo (so it's a 4-room holy shield instead of a single room holy shield), and damocles is the just the best. I recommend using the debug console and give you blank card in the beginning. I thought he was impossible (I had runs without a single blank card appearing before mom's heart), but I got it once in a secret room and boy was it fun. Got boss rush, hush (pain in the ass, almost lost there), isaac, megasatan and delirium in the same run. And, for greed mode, I just rerolled until I got blank card in the store. And died repeatedly. I managed to win with damocles in the 1st devil run and blank card in the 3rd stage.

This is a great video! I am currently also trying to get dead god, but I'm not nearly done yet. So seeing someone else document their whole way from zero to the end with all the suffering and being happy about completion marks was just an authentic experience. Thanks for taking me on your journey!

I always thought God should be the final boss in The Binding of Isaac, since God is the one who convinced Isaac's mom to kill him in the first place, and is presumably also the supreme creator who should be the most powerful boss. When The Beast was introduced in Repentance, I didn't really get why this gets to be the final boss that surpasses Satan/Mega Satan, Isaac and Dogma when it doesn't even seem to be related to the theme of the Ascent route revealing Isaac's parents' past, or anything else in the game's story really. -I still have hope that the final chapter of the Revelations mod is going to feature God as a final boss, by the way.- But I also realized that the final achievement in the game is "Dead God". And what is the icon for the Dead God achievement? *The Beast's skull.* The Beast is God confirmed.

There are some useful tips on finding the Delirium room. As long as you don’t have Curse of the lost you can figure out what rooms can be the Delirium room

I dont get why people are so quick to cheese Tainted Jacob. He's obviously a broken character that needs fixing and has a ton of bugs. Some rooms/boss attacks are just undoable without being hit. I'd rather wait until he's fixed than cheese him. GG on the rest of them tho
I think the character design of Laz and Jacob is just pretty bad. I was not going to wait for them to change their character to earn dead god, and I had to suffer through Laz. I know I could do Jacob without cheesing him, but I wanted to get er done.

You seem to have an epic run every time, I'd say 1 out of 50 runs that I get anything capable of even beating mother, I've beaten Satan twice, issac 8 times, but never powerfully enough to beat rush yet

It kinda sucks c section can only be obtained through death certificate, kinda boggles my mind that they made c section required to get dead god but is currently in no item pool as of right now.

the tainted jacob exit to menu glitch isnt cheese, its just straight up equivalent to awarding yourself the checkmarks via the games files.
