I love the “conductor we have a problem” especially the one where the voice is in distress!
The way I describe Rome as best as I can is that he is just RELENTLESS. It just sounds like he keeps and keeps going and it's amazing.
The lil baby effect
Truly, it's incredible! He flows just like none other...
@@elison6188 bruh, don’t even compare Lil Baby to Rome. Baby isn’t even close to his level of rapping
@@Jimmy1982Playlists yea someone said he reminded them of Big L and honestly I can see it. In their style at least they have similarities
@@karimd88Lil baby is a great rapper stop being weird because he started rapping recently and #2 they’re both similar with their relentless flow
Conductor Williams making sure we know who produced the song
CONDUCTOR CONDUCTOR
I like it though
"Westside Gunn said 'dudududu'" 😭😭😂😂Indeed Professor, he usually does.
Professor we have a problem! 🚂
Blu is one of the greatest & most underrated storytellers in hip hop
I wish he got more attention... he's got a lot of great projects!
Below the Heavens, J&J, Give Me My Flowers, York, Bad Neighbor, Long Red Hot LA Night, Miles, The Color Blue, etc
"Don't nobody wanna dance slow in the rain. Just move your ass. Just move your aaaassss...." Blu is so underatted. Exile is the perfect pair for him too. Glad ya'll are hip💯.
One the greatest all around
This Album brings that old feeling back.
I like the Conductor tag lol super excited tho for your "Mach-Hommy & Tha God Fahim - Duck CZN, Tiger Style" review 🥷
Ralo is talking about save your quarters, one of the biggest dealers in Atlanta history
Oh that was Ralobi knew I had saw that interview before

Incredible piece of work from Rome, I feel like this album would be right out someones trunk. This album has a timeless feel like its simultaneously from the 80s and modern and experimental at times. Rome's Rapping is just top tier.
The 80's 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That dope, glad to hear. Still not sure but is Rome apart of Griselda? If he is what a great addition.
@@poopymcpoop9945 Yeah, pretty sure he was signed to more than a one album deal..
PS. What up?!? We were just talking the other day on DEHH's last live video... hope you like those Meyhem Lauren projects we discussed!
@@Jimmy1982Playlists yo what's good man, I have it qued just haven't had the moment to listen. Bro so much shit has dropped Billy boldy rome Ka. I'm a Lil overwhelmed lol.
@@Jimmy1982Playlists mayhem. Underrated Imo
Thanks for picking to review this one first, prolly my favorite out of Friday’s batch
Same! Even tho that billy woods and Boldy are both amazing (as always)...
The fashion rebel beat was made by both sadhu and sovren
33:18 I also imagined baby rome streetz in a suit 😂
Conductor Williams is a master of his craft
Another amazing review Love ur takes and love for our raw hip hop!
salut, quel plaisir d'avoir decouvert cette chaine et quel contenu! Je me regale. J'admire tes qualites d'analyse et la facon dont tu disseques la musique et l'art en general. C'est aussi un excellent moyen pour moi de parfaire ma connaissance de l'anglais. Sadly I am not going to comment too much, purely because I am not so good at describing things and sharing my feelings, but I just wanted to let you know that I admire your work. I wish I had a prof like you. You must be loved by your students. Also I appreciate your joyfullness (ca se dit ca?) and positivity, especially in a moment during which I need the most. Pardon pour les oublies d'accent, je vis en europe central, et mon clavier en est depourvu. Peace!
Conductor has THE best tag
Armed and Dangerous...the Griselda love song! I feel like it started X rated and expanded to great song.
Great review, the breakdown of the beats and lyrics are very thoughtful!
Also, Samo's Revenge is Conductors Solo album I would Highly recommend checking it out
Might be my AOTY. Rome Streetz' other albums are incredibly dope, too... not a single weak project.
Great job from Rome and the GXFR crew!
For anyone who hasn't heard it, check out Rome Streetz album with DJ Muggs, _Death & The Magician._ It's his best album prior to _Kiss The Ring._ Still in steady rotation...
One of the best MCs in the last 20+ years.
Edit: Rome has such internal rhythm in his raps, I wonder if it's iambic pentameter sometimes
Amazing album. this review didn't pop into my notification box. project is good because of Conductor and Rome has amazing flows, Michelles records is going to be AOTY though. My album LSD TV is dropping Oct. 21st on all streaming platforms but on my channel, I am releasing a 46-minute-long animated music video to go along with the album drop. Best production this fall are my beats on my upcoming album, I recorded my own prerequisites its guaranteed to be something nobody heard before I'm making Jazz just to chop it into Hip Hop, trying to make what I think Coltrane would do with a modern postproduction studio.
Neat
@@alco1540 I appreciate the sub
Content is always great 👍🏼 waiting on that $$$ review for Freddie Gibbs
Haven't checked it fully, watching this in real time I'm already stoked. He'll yea I want more conductor Williams.
Immortal Technique, I would argue, is among story telling greats too
Its September 2023 and i just got up on Rome Streetz..heard him on tracks but I sat and listened to just him...he nice. 96 Nauti Windbreaker 1 of my favorite tracks from him
Blow 4 blow has to be the toughest track as far as all the MCs competing with each other lyrically
"Conductor we have a problem" is for what's to come to to the rest of the industry.

Billy Woods - Church. Just dropped on Friday.
Another immaculate, mind-blowing album from billy... the guy is amazing.
It's West fault 🤷🏻♂️😁 He has one of the best ears for beats in hiphop... He knows exactly what type of beats will fit his signed artists. He's one hell of a curator. We used to call them producers back in the days lol But yeah, mostly anything he puts his ear to turns to gold & makes rappers shine more. Flygod is the illest !! Personally I love the way it sounds, effin raw & in your face. Rome goes off like M-16 from start to the end. Great breath control, flows like a river, more bars than prisons... It's 10/10 for me.
✌️😎
Rome Streetz amazing
Kiss the Ring is solid. I like hearing Rome play with various producers. Agree thoroughly that Craven was glaringly absent from this “Murderer’s Row”. Though he wasn’t alone in his absence; I’d place Big Ghost LTD up in that consortium. That said, if you want to hear Rome perhaps at his best, though KTR may be it with more listens, I really believe he did it last year with Muggs on Death & The Magician. Also, for an excellent example of great modern storytelling in hip-hop, check out femdot.’s “Snuck to Mattie’s” on 94 Camry Music. Excellent review, Prof.
I said the same in my comment - his best project prior to _Kiss The Ring_ is definitely _Death & The Magician_ with Muggs (tho his whole catalogue is raw af)... it's an incredible album I still listen to regularly, and not enough people were put onto it at the time - hoping Skye hears it. Not sure which album I'll like better in the long run, but they're both stunning.
And I totally agree about Big Ghost Ltd. One of my top 4 or 5 producers working today. The third solo project of Conway's he did, _What Has Been Blessed Cannot Be Cursed,_ released earlier this year, I might even prefer to _God Don't Make Mistakes..._
And of course _Griselda Ghost_ with Conway & Westside Gunn is a classic. Every time Griselda links with Ghost, it's amazing!
@@Jimmy1982Playlists Me too , Death and the Magician is a little better in my opinion because of what he says.He is more lyrical o KTR but content had more punch in Death and Magician
Craven is nasty!! Wouldnt have minded a beat from him.
1000 Ecstasty my favorite track. 🔥
i’m sure other people have told you to listen to avantdale bowling clubs new record trees. live jazz rap from new zealand with personal bars and great flows.
You stated Daringer is not as active. Check out his album Black Vladimir with Meyhem Lauren
late to the party but the album is so raw! and i love the tag ....its so intense and adds to the atmosphere!

This 1 of those albums bros
When it dropped only listened 2 like 6 joints
Then u start loving this song & that song u kept skipping
Next thing u know u got a classic on ur hands
The way to listen to that mach ep (along with the other 3 in the series) is to go to his website and pay the $222
Just discovered the Boldy and Al album last week . I slept
I wish I could get Professor Skye to review my mixtape once it drops…
Mach is a great storyteller, mostly on projects you haven't heard tho lol. A lot of trap rappers are great storytellers: King Von and Speaker Knockerz come to mind (RIP). Kendrick is a fairly prolific storyteller. I feel like distinction is storytelling used to demarcate who was a great rapper whereas now there isn't as much emphasis on it.
King Von… what could have been? My little brother put me on. He’s nice. Hell, Kodak Black, I hate to say, is DUMB nice.
Yeah, great storytelling used to be a big factor... don't know how many listeners have the attention span anymore to care lol
@@thorocomments817 If you think King Vons nice you need to turn some Fbg Duck on. The real chiraq goat
Skye, have you ever heard of will woods incase I make it? Please listen to it...
if jungle from the bravehearts was the star and had the skill of Nas to me thats Rome
That water bottle line from Benny might be a pull from MOS DEF BLACK ON BOTH SIDES LP
Great review! You should check out planet Asia’s new album heist the crown.
Dang. When did that drop?!? Was that this last Friday as well?!?
@@Jimmy1982Playlists yes sir, as usual Planet Asia doesn’t disappoint 🔥
Would be nice to dig what that sample is on first track, it's not long when I heard this on some other us rap album that was released this year I think, and also I have heard it on this Finnish mixtape before both of these and these things are kinda fun to notice. Listened this album today couple times and I'm loving it. Too many conductor we have aproblem samples, but ok. Daringer is great, maybe you should check older Griselda, or new Meyhem Lauren album which was produced by Daringer. Also Billy Woods dropped new album.
No sample snitching
@@liddellsmohawk4284 don't have that album either. :P

Did you mention Long Story Short? That’s easily a personal favorite from this album
Hey mr professor you should give the new album by the comet is coming: hyper-dimensional expansion beam a listen. Im sure youll love it
Great hip hop storyteller: Billy Woods. Please review his new album Church.
I think you look really cool, personally my favourite song is Long Story Short, then I saw it was the only song produced by Alchemist. I might be brainwashed to only love Al.
and review the new billy woods please

There are so many story tellers in Hip-Hop that I literally laughed when you said there should be more than about three. Honestly...Wale is a great story teller that people omit because they do not did into his lyricism deeply enough, which honestly is one of the grandest issues with many critiques of the art form.
The passive dismissal of nomenclature, euphemisms, dialectics, or references that are not understood by the listener/critic eventually devolves into a gross underestimation of the skill of the writer
Yeah I kinda laughed too. Almost every rapper has at least one song where they tell a story. It’s so common
Every rapper is telling some story in their lyrics.
Where most fail is in holding the listener's attention TO THE STORY rather than individual bars, the beat, melody, or even the skill and complexity of the MC's rhymes/flows. For that the author needs a high degree of emotional intelligence, understanding how most people see a narrative unfold in steps - even when parts are left unsaid.
Conductor We Have A Problem is a Dope tag
His beats are 🔥
The OG cover for Coup de grace !!
It’s very dope
This is their best drop all year
CONDUCTOR, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!
To your point on who owns griselda- it is Westside Gunn so he’s making all the money and the artists of griselda are making all the money…No non rapping execs get to sit on the laurels of top tier talent
I trust any man with Velvet Underground and Nico's album framed in their home....
Rome Has Been a Beast..
MORE HATS!! =D
Kool G Raps Thugs Love Story might be one of the best story telling hiphop tracks of all time
Clearly Album of the year.
serving is a top 3 griselda song
React to Boldy James new album
you look cool with them hats on, but on a real not this album was solid with a classic grimy NY feel with amazing beat after amazing beat
His arrogance, and ability ride beats he’s super witty that’s what makes him dope
I'm graduating this year watch me do this
I graduate close to the summer of '23 but I gotta submit the yearbook quotes rn. Keep that album fresh for me.
CONDUCTOR
You have to check out bladees new album spiderr
Peace and love to Ransom but his solo album kinda lacks creativity. I think he paired well with Rome Streetz.
Camouflage Monk 🤦🤦🤦🤦🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯
You should really really go back and listen to Tana Talk 3.
Prof, I know you jest had another little'un. Shouldn't you be picking up a couple night shifts, Saturdays, at Chipotle or Panera? Bag boy, bag boy 👦 give it a shot, builds character. Or maybe something where you don't have to deal with the public, you've got enough of that already. Raking leaves, later throw a snowscrape on the whatever and do driveways, parking lots, curbs. The future is here, Professeur!
3 stacks is a great storyteller....
Conductor has awesome beats but he definitely over-uses his producer tag. Sometimes it can take away from the track.
Did anyone notice that "Big Steppa" has the same sample as "Christ Consious" by Joey Bada$$
I think the album wasn’t polished almost every track was similar. His voice become tiring overtime to listen to on repeat.the bars was great it’s a great album but it just missing something .I think he needed more direction n grooming to appeal to a larger fan base. I want at least 3 songs I can. Just relax to n not feel like I’m at a hip hop rap session in the 90s. I’d felt like I was back in high school sitting round the lunch table n here mcees throw bars all day n that’s good but I’m older Rome is older give me some more growth within the bars something that ransom do effectively n effortlessly. Ransom give us growth. Rome sounds the same as he did when he first came out . Ransom don’t .. I only mention ransom to explain my point
