Staniel Cay is the jewel in the center of the long necklace of Exuma islands stretching for 100 miles southeast of Nassau. Less than a mile square and home to about 100 people, Staniel Cay is the hub for the Pipe Creek area, a group of islands stretching for eight miles north to Compass Cay.
A fantastic trip to Staniel Cay, a trip to Compass Cay, Bitter Guana Cay and Big Major Spot Cay. The aim of the trip was to visit as many of the natural wonders that Pikes Creek in Exuma has to offer. We would highly recommend visiting Compass Cay for a cool Kalik followed by a dip with the Nurse Sharks, then pop back down towards Staniel Cay and take a short trip across to Big Major Cay to feed the swimming pigs. We then headed South down to Leaf Cay and Bitter Guana Cay where we were greeted by native Iguanas. There are so many Cays to visit within 6 miles of Staniel Cay and we would highly recommend a visit.

@MrSThayer The only out island adventure you do really is the Dolphin adventures (Beach option) the last shuttle leaves about 1.30pm and for about $25 you can sped the day on a private beach (albeit you'll be with other tourists), nice day out, good food and the shuttle comes back about 6pm.

@5249north the other camera's may have been the standard def GoPro, the HD is superb, you just have to know what setting to use for the given situation. I always opt for the 960i wide angle as the lense catches far more light and thus makes the video brighter and clearer, I also add a bit of saturation and if I feel brave I use Final Cut pro and correct the light levels using the 3 way corrector, the most important advice is to export and import video using the correct bit rate, then compress

I saw a few videos with Go Profrom other people, but they don't look so clear like yours. Are you using any filter to get your videos so clear? Please let me know. i am next to buy a Go Pro camera. Thanks. ! ! ! Great videos ! ! !

@ILoveLivTyler14 At low tide you can swim above the water and get into the grotto just fine, at high tide you must swim underwater, but its only 10 feet tops, I'm sure you can manage it whatever the tide, well worth the trip. try to aim for low tide just turning, you'll find the current will be none existent.

@reenwad not really, though Staniel Cay is only a 30 minute flight you'll have to charter to make it there and back, but by the time you arrive and rent a boat or capatin, it will be gone 3pm, you'll have to return before dark, say around 5pm, really isn't worth it for the hassle and about $1500.

How did you book all of these amazing adventures ? Was it through a tour company that offered this as a package, or did you book a private book and visited all these islands yourself ?

@5249north the only other advice would be to purchase a polorized lense, well a bit of polorized plastic from Eye of Mine. Russell Latimer can hook you up with all the goPro goodies, plus he sells an underwater lense, the standard Gopro lense has issues with blurring under the water, whereas Russell's is picture perfect and very clear, check out my stingray video.

I'll be stopping in Nassau while on a cruise, but in the afternoon, from 1pm to 8pm. Is something like this possible? How from from the cruise port?
