    How good of quality and dependability is this unit. Is it American made, and what is the warranty, do you stand behind this? How does it compare to Whole house fan co.'s product?

    If you were installing the fan in a square room say 14x12 do you have to find the exact center of the room like you would a ceiling fan?
    What if the exact center of the room has floor joists in the way? Do you just cut them out of the way and build a box for the fan? Or do you just get it as close as possible to the center of the room?

      If it’s only for a bedroom.
      You would probably wanna keep it The furthest away from the window. Or wherever your taking the air from. That would be my guess.

    Do you need a permit to install a whole house fan in California?

  • @UltraHydrophobiccoat
    @UltraHydrophobiccoat Před 2 lety +3

    What’s the purpose of the fan? You generate negative pressure in the house and positive pressure in the attic. The positive pressure in the attic will push down the attic air down into the house around the AC supply registers. The hot air in summer and cold air in winter in the attic, plus light dirt will get into the house

    • @ChristianCMC
      @ChristianCMC Před 2 lety +1

      That's why the attic needs to be vented properly.

    • @ChristianCMC
      @ChristianCMC Před 2 lety

      I thought these operate off a RF with a remote. Didn't think you had to run power down the wall.

    • @mapex311
      @mapex311 Před 2 lety

      @@ChristianCMC you can, there's diff options. RF remote is another add on option.

    • @Puckerupbuttercup261
      @Puckerupbuttercup261 Před rokem +1

      You fundamentally don’t understand how to use it. First, the attic must be vented via gable or soffit vents. Second, you partially open a couple windows at night when the outside temp is lower than your t.stat setting. Then the fan sucks in cooler air from outside and also blows hotter air out of the attic through vents.

    • @xavierhernandez3671
      @xavierhernandez3671 Před 2 dny

      You usually shoot them out a gable vent in the attic or at least in that direction and not only that there should be no attic air coming down into your house if your ceiling cans have been properly sealed and your attic access is pretty well sealed off?

  • @themrmoy40
    @themrmoy40 Před 2 lety +1

    so its just an upscale fan that goes in your attic. no refrigerant involved.

  • @alfonsobenitez8574
    @alfonsobenitez8574 Před 2 lety +2

    If the air conditioning is on you be losing cool air a lot. I can imagine this for a garage, but not for a house with central air. You never cool the house.

    • @foxfamilyheatingandaircond4696
      @foxfamilyheatingandaircond4696  Před 2 lety +2

      Right. See you would only use this when it's a bit nicer outside like 80 degrees or lower. Then you would save by not using your air conditioner and instead use an efficient ecm motor to actively bring on air from am open window on the other side of the house. But you're right. You would never use this if the AC is on.

    • @jimmydavis6954
      @jimmydavis6954 Před 2 lety +1

      The whole theory behind these fans if that during the cool hours usually in the morning they would like you to open your windows or doors and pull turn the fan on and it's supposedly pulls all the heat load out of the house how your air conditioner doesn't have to work as hard

    • @ChristianCMC
      @ChristianCMC Před 2 lety +1

      You never run a whole house fan at the same time as the AC.
