Does Magnesium help stress and anxiety?

  • In the past few years my stress and anxiety have continued to build to the point where I experience panic attacks on a regular basis. In addition to exercising more and working on a healthier lifestyle, I started adding Magnesium supplements to my diet. In my opinion this has helped and I do feel overall more relaxed and my panic attacks have decreased significantly. Is it the placebo effect? Does the Magnesium really help? I can't be 100% sure but magnesium can be found in many foods and I have had a good experience with it.
    I am not recommending anyone take magnesium. Please consult your health care professional about what's best for you and your unique situation.
