vegetarian, popular gobi manchurian, street food, auto, manchurian sauce, gobi, gobi dry, fried rice, cauliflower manchurian, cabbage manchurian, potato manchurian, baby corn manchurian, mushroom manchurian, banashankari, bangalore
Armed with the recipe for a crowd-pleasing manchurian sauce that he learnt from a chinese cook, 16 year-old Ravi set out with an auto 21 years ago to serve gobi manchurian in the South Bengaluru neighbourhood of Banashankari. Two decades on, Ravi Gobi seems to rule the heart of gobi manchurian lovers in the city, as evidenced by the number of customers who throng his vegetarian sidewalk eatery each evening. I caught up with Ravi and some of his happy patrons over an extended manchurian tasting session recently, where I savoured not only his popular cauliflower and cabbage versions, but also an equally appetising, babycorn, mushroom and potato variation too. Hope you enjoy this episode, stay safe and happy eating!
Each dish on the Ravi Gobi menu is prepared fresh to order, every plate served piping hot and therefore necessitating a wait of 10 to 15 minutes. The gobi or potato/ mushroom/ baby corn, fried fresh, dressed in a chilli-salt spice mix to make the dry version, or tossed in a savoury manchurian sauce that has the fresh zing of coriander, green chillies, ginger, garlic and onions.
Babycorn Fry & Manchurian - 9/10
Cauliflower Manchurian - 8.5/10
Overall food rating - 8/10
Full plate - Rs. 50 (usd 0.7)
Half plate - Rs. 35 (usd 0.5)

Ravi is damn good with his customers he doesn't even have 1% attitude, that's what has earned him so much love😄😄

Happy to see Ravi Gobi being featured on Foodlovers TV. Nostalgic experience always when there, he has maintained the taste & a following ever since.
Absolutely love the group/community taste-testing. I loved seeing the reactions and expressions of your "tasters"; the whole range of emotions: enthusiam, reticence in offering opinions, agreement. To me this is more important than any type of food. During this pandemic this is what I so miss and it is what that makes us human.❤️
The beauty of this channel is the language. its a combo of Kannada n English ❤️💞
