Knots Landing: Season 7 (1985-86) clip (Cathy’s final scene)

Here’s a send-off scene to “The Longest Night”, the seventh season finale for the 1979-93 CBS drama “Knots Landing”, a spin-off of the popular 1978-91 drama “Dallas”. This was the 30th and final episode of the seventh season (160th overall). This episode marks the final appearance of Lisa Hartman as Cathy Geary Rush. This episode originally aired Thursday, May 15, 1986.
Cathy Geary Rush (Lisa Hartman) was offered the chance to go on tour and she started having an affair with her manager, Ben Gibson (Douglas Sheehan), who is married to her former sister-in-law Val Ewing Gibson (Joan Van Ark). Val felt that she’s losing Ben who later tells her that he’s going on tour with Cathy for six weeks. Before Cathy leaves Knots Landing, she tells Ben she never wanted to hurt Val. Ben shares a story with Cathy about being called S.O.B. (Solid Old Ben) in high school. Val arrives at the beach house and discovers Ben and Cathy embracing from below them. Lisa Hartman is never seen again as Cathy Geary Rush.

They tried to find things for this character to do, but the ideas just ran out. Nothing against Lisa Hartman.

She was good for the interfare with Ben Gibson like it reflects between them in this scene would have made a good story.
