SCANDAL is my favorite Band, and Scandal Baby is my favorite song from them! .. SCANDAL is considered to be the number 1 Girls band in Japan. They formed in 2006 when an instructor at the Caless Vocal and Dance school they all were attending suggested to a bunch of girls that they should try musical instruments. Out of all the girls that tried only the 4 members of SCANDAL took to it. None of them had every played any instruments before this except for the Drummer Rina who had been playing the Piano from the age of 3.
The girls were all high school students at they formed the band, but they would spend lock themselves into a small studio every weekend all weekend long practicing their instruments and eventual would become street performers in Osaka Castle Park in Osaka Japan. They Band was signed to a Record label in 2008 and Debuted professionally in 2009. This Song "Scandal Baby" was off that very first Album and it is a song the still play at 95% of their live shows today.

Well said and within two years of picking up instruments for the first time they went on a six city tour of America. So proud of these girls. To add to Harry's list I would recommend Take Me Out - czcams.com/video/xXBJljLPqus/video.html&frags=pl%2Cwn and Doll - czcams.com/video/vtkIg8TL7Ko/video.html&frags=pl%2Cwn The later was one of their first videos as they were still in high school and had only been playing a few years. More of a garage band back then. They've come a long way.
Harry Creter actually, MAMI was a drummer before scandal. Her entire family is musical and drums are what she was familiar with. She chose guitar in SCANDAL because she wanted something new. Rina ended up drummer by chance because all other instruments were taken. Tomomi was originally guitarist but felt it was too hard so she settled for bass with 4 strings. Haruna says she always thought she’d be a singer but wanted to be a dancer. But never pictured herself in a band.

Scandal is pretty awesome, they have a few sides to them, there are songs like "Hon Wo Yomu" and "Koe" where Mami (the lead guitarist) is the lead singer, and "Standard" that almost has a ska sound, and "Freedom Fighters" that is a lil heavier than the rest, either way They are a great band, with a lot of great songs. They are one of the older Japan girl rock groups as they have been together and making music for over a decade.
My two favourite songs from them:

The title is "Scandal Baby", not just "Baby"
This was the first song they played at their major debut at Osaka-Jo. It was epic, Tomomi cried through most of the concert.

I only have the first 2 albums (in Australia that's all you can get) but having said that I prefer the early stuff it was more energetic and rocky rather than pop and whatever else they throw in now.

в 1971 году в СССР,а точнее в Грузинской Советской Социалистической Республики создали вокально инструментальную группу" Мзиури" их девочек школьниц(мне кажется не старше 13 лет,точно не помню),они играли на разных инструментах,пели,танцевали,мне кажется они в мире были первой такой группой, пели на разных языках.

Yeah.. you finally found another rock gem from Japan ^.^v I'd say congratulations first, lol ... really enjoy seeing your happy faces with such great reactions.
IMHO, SCANDAL is the princess of J-rock, one of the greatest all-girl band from Japan. I'd say their songs more to pop-rock style, cuteness side of rock music, but you always get under their spells and couldn't stop moving your body and soul. Too bad you missed some greatest moments about SCANDAL, coz some of their masterpieces are taken down from CZcams (or maybe only available in Japan) -_-'
