The band is SCANDAL and the song is "Scandal Baby" from their first album - it's sort of the National Anthem of SCANDAL Nation. The mob scene at 3:48 is a "friendly reminder" of the time the singer forgot the lyrics - the tradition continues to this day. This clip is from the DVD for their 2010 Temptation Box tour. The members were 22, 20, 20 and 19 at the time. They celebrate their 15th year together in August.
They're a hard band to describe because they're comfortable playing a wide variety of genres, and every new song is a surprise. Their arrangements are complex and dynamic and they work together as an extraordinary ensemble, but individually their instrumentation is simple and clean. Thanks for that information. When someone first suggested the band I thought they mean the 80's band, then I checked this song. I got mixed up with how it was listed. They're a lot of fun to listen to.

I think @LesDexia13 already covered the most important bits. Scandal are an amazing band, comfortable in many genres, always with the sort of happy energy that makes your day. They are:
Haruna Ono (Vocals, Rythm Guitar)
Mami Sasazaki (Lead Guitar, Vocals)
Tomomi Ogawa (Bass, Vocals)
Rina Suzuki (Drums, Vocals)
You pointed out that the drummer, Rina, was singing along for most of the song. That is because all of them contribute to the vocals department. Not only they do great vocal harmonies to support Haruna but there are several songs in which each of them takes the lead.
I agree that A.M.D.K.J. is a good example of their recent work. They will be dropping a new single "Ivory" in a couple of days too. As an example of their earlier work, I'd recommend "Space Ranger" but it might be difficult to find a good video for that one.
@@KyleWalz Patty Smyth recently let the copyright for her old band lapse so SCANDAL swooped in and is now the official legal owner of that name in the U.S. (in 2018 the band had to call themselves "SCANDAL from Japan" on their U.S. - Mexico tour). SCANDAL also has the "Official Artist" designation on CZcams - "SCANDAL ♪" while Smyth has the "verified" designation - "ScandalVEVO ☑"

They start in 2006 when some girls in high school. They start playing in the Osaka Castle Park just for fun, and now they have 15 years on stages and 14 records on sale (and a lot of DVD concerts).
The real difficult here is that their last album is really good, their first album was good. All of their albums are good. Of course they change with the time, but they never disappoint.

When she was chosen for SCANDAL, drummer Rina was only 15 years old. When the band moved to Tokyo, Haruna (who was then 20) was Rina's legal guardian until she turned 20. Frankly, the girls in SCANDAL are more like sisters than just band-mates.
At some point partly this music is like an old melody can't remember exactly but this band make a great show and sound so good in Japanese 🎸🎶👍
They've been accused of stealing music before, but from what I've read plagiarism is just not a big deal in Japan because the use of citations is not taught in schools, and as a culture it's thought that "borrowing" is a way of honoring the work of others.
ADD: Although they started writing lyrics from day one, outsiders (MASTERWORKS then SONY people) received credit for all their composititon and arrangement credits until Mami scored a couple of comp credits in 2011 and 2013. If their mentors didn't advise them about intellectual property theft then it probably wasn't considered important.
Most music seems to sound similar anymore--those 12 notes are hard to be too original with.

Going on 15 years together. If you plan on doing more reactions they have a huge library to choose from spanning all kinds of genres.

SCANDAL is the main reason behind the explosion of girl band in Japan in recent years. They started from nothing when a teacher at the vocal and dance school they were attending asked the students if they were interested in learning instruments and forming a band.
Rina (the drummer) always sings along because she really is the number one fan of the band and she always has the time of her life playng on concerts.
As other have said, all of the members can sing and write songs, but recently Rina and Mami (lead guitar) do write most of them.

Remember that it is better to react to live performancer for two reasons: 1 because all of theis songs are written with live shows in mind, and 2 because until a couple years ago they were under Sony music, who apparently doesn't like free advertising and will claim the video. Situation changed when they created their own label called "her".
And the new song Ivory which is being released on the 16th is Mami song on lead vocals
Their management films a large number of their concerts, picks the best ones and make DVD's of the tour , and fans love that, even leaving in the mistakes to keep it real. They have worked harder than any band i know. They rarely get holidays and even when they get a week off OS they end up doing heaps of pics, net, interview, but they love it and grateful and humble they can have a life that most kids dream of. I could tell you stories about them that would break your your heart.. Yes these girl deserve even more attention and applause than they are getting, for a long time now,. I will write some up here if you are interested ?

This where they, after only 2 years of learning their instrument go a toe hold in Japan. In this clip 2 of the girls had just finished high school and the drummer still a year to go. The girls themselves realised it was their cheapest option to get an image together. Now 12 or 13 years later they have formed their own label , and write and self produce their own albums. Enjoy one of their early singles which got picked for an anime series.

They have worked harder than any band I know, even rehearsing Xmas Days 14 albums now and still fresh and joyous performances. I could tell you stories about them that would break your your heart.. This isn't MV. They never made one for this song. Looks like this is about ten years ago. In my opinion they're nearly always better live than recorded. That goes for other J-bands too
Yeah, those bands get that comment a lot. I'm always curious why the bands bother with the studio anymore and just perform and release those recordings.
