Scandal is one of the very rare exemple of a school band who still together with the original four members and going strong after 15 years. I love seeing first reaction to Tomomi "chipmunck" voice - at first it sounds strange but you'll get used to it. And she's such a solid bassplayer!

Heck, the drummer (Rina) inspired Band-Maid's Akane to pick up the drums. I think they're also among the youngest rock groups to sell out huge venues like this one. And they did it out of their own passion, not by a talent agency's design - started in high school, initially doing street performances while still learning their instruments. The same 'Scandal 4' have been playing together for 14 years, and founded their very own record label not so long ago. And judging by their latest songs, they're far from done. But listen to some of the older ones first ;) My recommendation is 'Awanaitsumorino Genkidene'.
@eagletail Wrong! They were "put together" by their teacher. In fact, there is a video of them reacting to a letter from their teacher just prior to their debut at Osaka-Jo Hall.

When their dance teacher called for girls to try playing instruments, many responded at first but only those four stuck with it and stuck together. From then on it was up to them, to their own hard work, and especially I'm sure-though they never say this-Haruna's leadership.
This song for sure os very touching and heart warming for them , i think this became like their song for each other that's why at that part of the song they lean on each other and tell each other or mostly Haruna that they will keep on fighting and that they love each other and what they are doing, there are a couple of performances that they did that leaning to Haruna's shoulder the lyrics must have meant a lot to her, if you guys can look up the english translation of the lyrics it's really full of emotion There was a time that Haruna's voice was very raspy and sounded so painful to sing with but no complaints from her still continued to sing , such tough talented girls

A lot of people like Japanese music because much of it tends to be happy, upbeat, unique, and oftentimes quirky. Or in other words either cute or rock (or a mix :-) ). Both Babymetal & Scandal epitomize this. Scandal has their bangers (AMDKJ, Shojo S, etc), their quirky (Konya wa Pizza Party , Standard, Can Beer, etc), their pop-rock songs, punk songs, and many other sides to them. You guys should checkout Norwegian Singer/Song Writer/ Performer Aurora (24 yrs old) Those titles aren't an understatement, she's out of this world talented! She's a mastermind when it comes to music. especially getting a message across and storytelling in such a poetic way. Her vocals are ethereal (especially live) I recommend starting out with her song All Is Soft Inside live @ KEXP (1st one to show up) its more psychedelic type music?? but all of her songs are extremely different! to make things better she looks like a real life anime character LMAO. (she said shes heavily inspired by anime when it comes to her look)

So I know of her. i used to binge her song Runaway. I haven't listened to anything else form her though. i'm pretty sure Michael doesn't know her. I may have shown him Runaway, but that would have been it. We will def add her to our request hat!
