    Randy Moss is pound-for-pound the greatest athlete to ever play in the NFL, and the most unstoppable in his prime, and that’s coming from a diehard Packers fan.

      Imagine what he could of done if he played 100% every game... remember he had said at one point.. “I play when I want too”. Even on his bad game days.. he was STILL THE BEST IN THE GAME.. I really miss watching him play... players like him are once in a generation... so lucky to have been able to watch him.. Just hearing Randy say “Thank you Mister Baker”… tells you everything you need to know about the man that he became.

    I'll never forget 1998. Randy Moss, in one season, changed the way defenses covered and he changed the game. When you consider some of the QB's (minus Brady of course) throwing it to him and how he produced despite being double and triple teamed on almost every down he played it's amazing. The one time he had a great QB he put up record numbers. No he didn't win a SB, but that isn't on him, he did his job, and he did it better than pretty much any one. The fact that there are only a few WR's people can compare him to says everything you need to know.

No matter the "faults" that have followed him all his life, he's a class act and I consider myself lucky to have watched him. Although I have great overall respect for Carter, I agree with you. The way he phrased it was more about him getting his due for "trying to make him (Moss) a better person, a better football player." That sounds a bit condescending, as if Moss couldn't have done it without him. Maybe he couldn't have. Maybe Carter and Dennis Green made a life changing difference for Moss. But on Moss' big day, Carter could have said something to the effect that "we all saw his potential as a player and a person and I, personally, worked very hard to help him develop that as a teammate and a friend. It's gratifying to me to see the man Randy has become, especially in the last few years. He's grown a lot." That sounds a lot less egocentric.

    The WR's'/TE's will be the toughest category to get in. It will be the same with the DB's. Look at the WR's still on the ballot: Hines Ward, Ike Bruce, Torry Holt are still on the ballot. Look at the names that will start coming up: Tony Gonzalez (2019), Reggie Wayne (2020), Calvin Johnson (2021), Andre Johnson and Steve Smith, Sr. (2022). The interesting names to watch are TE's Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten . Larry Fitzgerald and TE's Rob Gronkowski, Antonio Gates, and Jimmy Graham five years after they play their last games. You would think they are shoo ins. Remember, this is the NFL . We all thought T.O. and a few others were shoo ins to get in on the first ballot. We all know what happened.

    One thing I'll never understand about Hall of Fame voters? Is voting on someone 3, 4 5 times. It makes no sense. Either you had a HOF career or you didn't. They do this in all the major sports.

    • @elliottmorreau8374
      @elliottmorreau8374 Před 6 lety +1

      It's because they do a ballot of enlistment. . . 'who is better'
      A HOFer can be a HOFer and just be up against an extremely good class.

    • @drkdze
      @drkdze Před 6 lety

      Because the voting pool may be so deep and they have a limited amount of slots that somebody no matter how great of a career they had gets left out. It just part of the process.

    This chick has the nerve to say “she had no idea it was so hard for WRs to get in” This woman is an example of why so many men find it funny when women talk about Football. Your supposed to be a journalists. Atleast do research and pay attention to the history of the Pro Football HOF before making your self sound uninformed.

    Randy is the best, I just wish he grew up sooner. He should have retired in purple 💯👍 he still had time in N E but old man Bill thought he was not good in the locker room ? Even though on the field he was awesome.

    Cliff Branch not on hall of fame is a joke! Branch has three super bowls and third most all time catches and yards in post season games. Plus 67 TDs is a lot for 70s when teams ran ball 70% of time. Better stats than Swan and he’s in

    • @sydboski
      @sydboski Před 6 lety

      Branch was first in catches and yards in the post season when he retired. It is absolutely a joke that Swann is in and Branch isn't.

      Big 70's Steeler fan here. Totally agree with you. Cliff Branch was awesome. Branch (and the rest of the Raiders) gave the Steelers all they could handle and some more at times. Branch was very fast which made him a great deep threat that really opened up the Raiders offense, and he was durable and played many, many years. Obviously, he got open A LOT given the numbers quoted above. He was perfect for the Raiders offense which sought to stretch the field vertically. I'm really surprised and disappointed he hasn't gotten in.
