TJ, man… this is such a fun thing to watch. Most CZcamsrs it’s just “insert this method” and watch catch fish which is great but does get tiresome at times surprisingly. Seeing the actual and practical information/tactical plan in real time is not only so much more enjoyable to watch… but amazingly helpful as you actually see the cause and effect take place. #1 walleye CZcamsr in my opinion by far! Keep it up dude. So enjoyable to watch.
Really appreciate that feedback and kind words, Neil! There’s still some logistical thing that I want to clean up with how I present the information clearly, but I really like giving “real time” info. Thinking about doing some longer uncut videos like my buddy Nick just did! Always appreciate the comment!
I always get a laugh when I'm deep into reading a fisheries survey for a lake and then after 15 minutes I realize the survey was from 2012.
Been there, done that! 😂 thinking I’ve found what I’m looking for only to realize half those fish are now dead 😂
The absolute best and most important factor you can find on mn dnr lakefinder is it tells you maximum depth of plant growth. If it's 11ft, depth highlight gets set +/- a foot from that depth. If it's 7feet and murky, it goes +/- 1ft from that. It gives you lots of areas to find weeds rapidly.
Sorry about the camera! Thanks again for the education. Most informative content out there.
It’s always something! 😂 the show must go on! Really appreciate the comment as always!
Thank you TJ for all the information you give out in your videos!❤️🎣
Evan! Appreciate the comment brother! Glad the video was helpful!
Aye we’ll take those minis Tj !!!!!! Great seein yah bud warmer weather an bigger fish are on the way !!!
Yeah buddy! Gotta take what you can get! 😂 appreciate you, Justin!
Love the video! I don’t have a live scope or I sometimes have trouble beating my side-by-side on my helix just for lack of experience. So it’s great to have a little detail as to what you’re looking for. I love fish walleyes, but I never know structure and points insight.
Appreciate the comment, Troy! Glad it was helpful!
great video as per usual. Love the way you use the maps part
Always appreciate the comment, Gord!
Amazing videos that are actually helpful. I’ve been stubbornly trying to solve a local very clear lake that I know has some decent walleye, and the weeds are already out to around 17 feet. I’m thinking about just changing to something with darker water, but I do think I’ll try looking for some deeper breaks outside of that weed edge before I give up.
Appreciate the kind words! Deep clear lakes can be tricky at times! Is it good green cabbage weeds?
@@tjsguideservice mostly milfoil but I’ve pulled up cabbage here and there. I think the reality is, with my level of skill (and no mega live, only side imaging), I’m probably just putting myself in a situation where I’m more likely to fail and I should drive to a more promising lake. I’ve got some others worth checking out
Great video. I think it could speak to an even wider audience if you did this but without livescope so that’s it’s more replicable for the average Joe. Great production quality as always!
Great video
Appreciate the comment, Matt!
Always an educational video, well done!!
Thanks man! Happy Muskie season to you!
What a great video!! Awesome content! 👌🏼
Appreciate you taking the time to comment! Glad you enjoyed!
Great video bud! Great tips!
Appreciate that! Hope you’ve been catching some fish!
Could you do a video on 11th crow wing lake? I can’t catch a walleye during the summer on that lake to save my life, but winter months I can. Got skunked this weekend up there again and it’s driving me nuts. Thanks.
I typically don’t do videos on specific lakes like that when they are smaller as I don’t want to put too much pressure on a small body of water. Feel free to message me on Facebook or Instagram and I’ll try help however I can!
Walleye expert
Some days 😂
Great vid!
Appreciate the comment! 👊
How is it chasing schools of fish with the livescope in the back of the boat? If fished with it in the front of the boat but never in the back. Just got my own livescope and I love the idea of having it in the back of the boat but just not sure.
They definitely both have their pros and cons. I love not cracking my neck down with my livescope is in back and having everything right around me. Front is also very nice because you can cast and direction and not have any issues. When it’s really windy and I’m setting up on schools I like it in back. Chasing single big fish and when it’s calm I like it in front of me
We’re I fish is a reef from 12-18 feet with weeds on the top and it’s odd in the middle of the day dead calm and 95 degrees you catch them then other days alittle wind or some chop there their but don’t bite I swear walleye a so different state to state not very often do I hear guy trolling in 30 ft we’re I live mostly before ice forms but it’s mainly on shallow reefs around us I’d love to take you out walleye fishing in my state and show you how different it is it’s always Minnesota go to New York or even VT
That’s awesome! It is pretty crazy how different walleyes can be from state to state. Even from lake to lake! Sometimes we have lakes that are 10 miles away and fish completely different! Makes it fun and frustrating 😂
Is your HB Mega the Mega or Mega+ model? Been trying to really dial mine in and can't get it as clear as I'd like. But I just have Mega.
I have the Mega + model. #1 thing I recommend is make sure it’s level. I’ll add a video to show how. That makes a huge difference! czcams.com/video/JuYsmJRc_fE/video.htmlsi=KDqAGH5J9_MU6pNs
Otherwise my contrast was 15 and sensitivity was 11
@@tjsguideservice that video is great! I'm going to give that a try. My settings are pretty close to those. Thanks!
@@DblCheese more than likely that will help a bunch!
What size Piscifun reels do you run? Slip bobber rod and jigging rod?
I usually use a size 2000 for jigging and a size 3000 for slip bobbers to reel down on the slack line quicker!
How you get the graft on the screen like that
I can record my livescope using the active captain app. You need a newer echomap or a gpsmap model to be able to do that I believe
Hey TJ, I saw an older video of your livescope settings when ice fishing. Are they the same when you're in open water?
Very similar! I may be making a video with some updated open water settings with my new unit!
I'm interested in your settings as a starting point
Lake Darling. Fish is quite a bit. Can be good
This is not Lake Darling, I’ve actually never fished that one either! If you’re referring to the screen shots of the map, I usually just find lakes with similar structure to what I’m fishing so I don’t show my exact spots. Sounds like lake darling might have to be on my list!
@@tjsguideservicewell if you want to get bit right now Mille Lacs is the best lake in the state at the moment without a doubt.
@@royfletcher8548 I’ve heard that! been trying to get over there for a bit and life keep getting in the way 😂
We didn't get any "You Bets" in this video.
That’s on me. Really sorry to disappoint… it won’t happen again! 😂
@@tjsguideservice 😂
Oof, not the camera 🫢
Seriously!! Brutal! 🤦🏻♂️ coulda been worse! At least I was fishing! 😂
@@tjsguideservice You know what they say. Even the worst day of fishing is better than a day at work.
Grate video, good brake down tips. I like bigger cheeks on mine 😅😂
Thanks, Troy! Hope your open water season has been good! Not much for cheeks on any of those 😂
