- The Beatles performing “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”
To mark the 10th anniversary of The Beatles Love show by Cirque du Soleil at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, a brand video has been created to represent the re-staging of George Harrison’s While My Guitar Gently, using an acoustic version of the iconic song with a specially commissioned string arrangement by the late Sir George Martin recorded in 2006. This version is also featured on the Love album.
The evocative video was directed by Dandypunk, Andre Kasten and Leah Moyer and was shot in the Love Theatre at the Mirage Hotel and at other locations in Nevada. All effects were created using projection mapping and captured live, in-camera. No post production CGI was used.

It's crazy how 4 guys with so much talent not only lived in the same time but in the same town and met each other. We are so lucky to be able to enjoy their legacy

Yeah sooooo amazing long live the beatles😢
four? idk, three i’ll give you but that’s it. probably just two. paul and john could have taken any two swingin dicks in liverpool and have made them the same beatles. maybe 3, but not 4.

Magnetic tape recordings can sound extremely good even by modern standards. You just need to record on a large area and move the tape at high speeds and you’ll get something leagues better than a standard compact cassette.
In fact, old recordings often sound better IMO, because they still have the dynamic range that is often lost due to the loudness war.

Without hesitation, my favorite Beatle is Paul McCartney. However, I find that in lists of all time favorite Beatles songs, George Harrison's songs, even though not as numerous, are consistently at the top of the list. Between While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Here Comes the Sun, McCartney and Lennon follow behind. As I said, I favor McCartney, but I gladly yield to Harrison on some of his songs. "I'm sitting here, doing nothing but ageing...." What a line! What a deep thought! What an emotional rollercoaster ride this song takes us on!
Oh, how about the mundaneness yet absolute greatness of the line, "I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping"? And then right after, "while my guitar gently weeps". Such a perfect description of what we all see, yet the helplessness we all feel about it. It is indescribable how amazing those lyrics are.
Comparing all the great of Beatles music, why is it that George Harrison's compositions hold up so well over time?
And to think they took that line out

George wasn't even alive to hear this version of his song... I'm sure he'd love it... The way his voice blends with all those strings... Whenever I hear the ending of his vocals I feel like he's singing his last words and he's leaving his body while the melody keeps on going as he rests his soul in peace... How did we get here and where do we go now?

The more that things change, the more they stay the same...
Agree, and you should write a book! A beauty-full illustration of a possibility Charlie S! George was a Pisces this time round and music is how they navigate the world so they can find a sense of 'home' here, not something they get paid for with screaming disembodied girls throwing knickers at you!

Question:Why do older fans of the Beatles look down on younger or newer fans as if they don't actually like them?Your age has nothing to do with if you like the Beatles or not.Maybe leave them alone they are just enjoying the music.Who cares if they have been die hard fans since day one of not.
I've never encountered that but anybody looking down their nose at younger fans must be hung up on something other than the music. The music stands on its own. Maybe the older fans who do it are trying to give themselves a false stature to make themselves feel better. Maybe they are being possessive of the music which is ridiculous because once music is in the air it takes on a life of its own for any and all to experience and identify with. I love the Beatles. If I run into what you're talking about I'll do my best to keep it out of my heart and let them keep it in theirs. I have no use for that kind of thing. Take care.
Thank you ;u; everyone questions why I love the Beatles and some say I'm too young to even like the Beatles. They expect me to like stuff like 1D and get surprised when I don't really enjoy 1D
I own one of the first albums produced in England from I believe 61??? I'm 14
so your parents own it
+Vismis no I found it in a scrap car under the back seat not a clue what it was doing there but the car was a 59 impala
Every other Beatle except George: Hey, George! I bet you can't make a hit record!
George:
@Spectrum SSS some Sinatra dude: Something is my favorite Lennon/McCartney song
My sweet lord
Every other Beatle except Ringo: Hey, Ringo! I bet you cant write a hit record!
Ringo: ...
@ThatKidWhoLiesAboutHisAge OnTheInternet that's it george, we retired
YaBoi Ethan Ringo: Yellow Submarine, With a Little Help From My Friends, Don’t Pass Me By, What Goes On, Octopus’ Garden...
The most beautiful version, and of course it was mastered by Sir George Martin and his son. The strings make this the epitome of George Harrisons' talents!
Think of all the hits, all the history, the legend of the Beatles. The fact that these four members created masterpieces such as this one all prior to the age of 30 years old is one of the most astonishing mind blowing facts I’ve ever heard.
As a former orchestra band member and someone who loves rock songs, I love orchestra versions like this. The strings hit differently and give more natural emotions to songs.

Check out the album Neon Ballroom by silverchair if you haven't yet, or watch the Emotion Sickness video first to really hook you.
@@xxillicitxx silverchairs so rad, it’s cool to see them get a rec, diorama might be one of my favourite albums of all time
Pose this is not an orchestral version, but a recording done by George Harrison on his own (voice and guitar), to which Georges Martin (their long time producer) added and recorded a string arrangement...
MY guitar does not gently weep. This is beautiful.
Really love Ringos drumming on this one
fallen zero me too, really shows his talent
fallen zero shows how respectable he is and doesnt get up all in your face like most drummers and dont just play 4 4 beats and such
Lol 😆
Redline Rider I can't find fallen zero anywhere! Is there a joke I don't understand or maybe a different search term I should use?
It's the name of the original commenter.
This is such a beautiful melody. It’s amazing how many awe inspiring songs you hear that the Beatles brought to the world. I play steel guitar and dobro and I recently heard Jerry Douglas play this song. My jaw was on the floor and my eyes were moist with tears. When I got home I looked the song up and I was speechless to find out this was yet another Beatles song.
This band is still touching lives and influencing music today.
Nice.
I love how gently George sings this. The word images are so beautiful.
1968: “with every mistake we must surely be learning”
2020: *nah*
I'm laughin so hard
Honestly, we can't stand for nothing so where does that leave us as a NATION OR MANKIND.
If we ever want to have anything we've got to stand for something. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Where did we lose those morals.
Rebecca wen the water gets muddy it’s hard to see wats behind it
The percentage of people who learn gets better every generation. 😊
Eso me recuerda a algo llamado socialismo...
George: I look at the floor and i see it needs sweeping
Also George: well don’t just stand there Ringo
lmFAO
That was funny
LMAO
Beautiful version and the clip with that dancer... speechless.
This song, My Sweet Lord Here Comes The Sun, Something, I need You.... Thank you George for your gift to the world.
George is the perfect example of someone you miss that you never new or who was even alive in your lifetime. Truly a legend
Time passes, The Beatles resist.Their songs won't ever get old for me.
Andreea Vesman true boo, while people are listening to edm here I am repeating The Beatles albums
So true! The Beatles are evergreen -- as fresh today as they were half a century ago.
Everything is pure poetry in this song. The lyrics, vídeo, John's or George's voice 🤔 and the Beatles together or apart. ❤️💎🎵🤘🤩
It's george singing, and yes❤️
Happy Birthday George. Your contributions to humankind are immeasurable. We’ll never forget you!
In my opinion after listening to The Beatles for years, George Harrison is the best of the four.
Yeah, he's my favorite too
Definitely the best of 4.
Absolutely. I think the thing that shows the most in his favor, besides his amazing music, was his kindness, humanity, and spirituality. He had mountains of all of it.
He is my favorite too
I second that with a third through millionth.
One of the most poetic songs I ever heard.
Song*
@@NomitNegi No, songs because there is multiple they have heard!
Across the universe is pretty poetic as well.
I couldn't help but be captivated by the way your lyrics intertwined seamlessly with the visuals in the video. It was as if every frame perfectly captured the essence of the emotions your song evokes. I felt like the video was a window into my own thoughts and feelings, I couldn't have expressed them better myself. It's incredible how your artistry extends beyond just the music. You have this innate ability to bring your songs to life through the power of visuals, and it leaves a profound impact on your listeners. The way you combine the lyrics and the music video creates a synergy that is truly magical. So, Beatles, I just wanted to express my utmost admiration and gratitude for the masterpiece you've created.
Such as amazing song and very thoughtful lyrics. The Beatles were way ahead of their time.
RIP George.🙏🏻❤
The Beatles were, and still are, unbelievable. As Tom petty said, “There was The Beatles, then there was everybody else.”
There is a reason in everything.. for me they have tap the secret door to infinity.. lol
the beatles are infact the greatest band and songwriters of all time imo the Rolling stones are 2nd
Too bad the Beatles had nothing to do with this song..lmao
@@harryprater9014 elaborate
@@ketchupketchup9502 Presumably they mean that George is the only Beatle playing on this track. It's like saying the Beatles had nothing to do with "Blackbird" (Paul) or "Julia" (John).
This is one of many reasons they’ll be listening to and speaking about the Beatles for eternity ❤️
After twenty years, that voice, that melody, still got touched, deeply.
I used to feel Clapton's licks and solo in the original release of this song epitomized the weeping within this song... but come to realize from this arrangement how much more is there - the minor tonic chord progression along with George's haunting solemn vocal are where the real true sadness lay ... felt tears. I've always been of opinion a song stands on it's own if you may strip it down to bare acoustic - this it does, and George's genius still shines forth.
Shut your ridiculous, ignorant, pretentious brain off, you waste of life.
Tom Mack don't listen to him
A good song arranged, performed and interpreted well always shines, no matter how complex or simple.
+CooManTunes Wow, man that's pretty harsh toward someone giving an opinion.
