      Admittedly, some of my theory is based on how the Emperor is in TTS, but their logic sorta makes sense. That he keeps things secret because knowledge of them can cause them to become worse, since that's how the Chaos gods kinda work. i.e. if you let others know a certain demon exists, it becomes more powerful from belief in it.
      With that theory in mind, and the one that he took warp minor entities and put them into his Primarchs, I think the 2 lost primarchs had particularly dangerous warp entities put into them accidentally. Like, those two entities kinda tricked the Emperor or hid their true nature from him, and he found out later on when the Primarchs were discovered. Those entities had some inherent quality to them that would've made them extremely dangerous if their influence continued to spread, moreso than even the Chaos Gods, so the Emp had to erase them from existence and that's why he can't ever talk about them (and why the Traitor Primarchs don't either). The other Primarchs have enough willpower to remember their existence but not think about them much, similar to how they can resist Chaos more than the average human.

He could also be the back up of the grey knight's as releasing him would threaten the emperor but also every other warp and psychic related creature.

    Μy theory about the Ethereals is that they pretty much occurr naturally if all castes produce a hybrid that contains a perfect 1/4th of each one's DNA. This would explain why they only appeared at a time when all 4 caste were at close contract with one another and why the Ethereals forbid tau from different caste from reproducing with one another.

  • @Rakanarshi2
    @Rakanarshi2 Před rokem +127

    I got one for the Ethereal of the Tau. The god of the greater good as imagined by humans was able to travel through time and make the Etherials. Reminds me of when Rowboat Girlyman Asked an Elidari about the nature of gods. It was along the lines of "some have never existed until they did, then they always were". And since Tau aren't all that phyker/warp capable It makes sense that their human "allies" who made that warp god, did it.

    • @tagnk6136
      @tagnk6136 Před rokem +4

      But it doesn't exactly make sense from what Majorkill said Ethereal were responsible for uniting Tau and bringing them into spacefaring civilization. Greater good as an existence appeared when part of human population joined Tau and got introduced to the concept.
      So it doesn't really make sense for them to be made by this manifestation of greater good. Unless it involved time travelling but that would become even more convoluted either creating a cycle where greater good exists because of greater good or that somehow Tau without Ethereals were able to prevail get humans to join them, creation of greater good by human vision of it and it getting chucked back in times by at least few thousands of years.

    • @Rakanarshi2
      @Rakanarshi2 Před rokem +9

      @@tagnk6136 nah, it involves time traveling Since gods can suddenly have always have existed. It would be like if there were only three chaos gods and a new one just popped into existence, everyone would have thought they were there the whole time. Still, that is only part of how gods work in 40k. So I used that for my BS theory lol.

    • @mcarlinod
      @mcarlinod Před rokem +1

      It makes sense in theory but in practicality it doesn't because that would mean the 4 main chaos gods existed since the war in heaven. I mean it can still make sense somehow because maybe they existed but were not able to interact with the material realm or maybe they existed in their non corrupted forms since the warp was much more stable then. Maybe the god of the greater good came into existence thanks to the humans within the tau empire and was able to exhert his powers into the past because the greater good as concept is something that always existed for humans so there were enough people believing in it unconsciously that it had enough power to manifest through the ethereals

  • @poodlescone9700
    @poodlescone9700 Před rokem +36

    My head canon for the Pale Wasting is an extra dimensional invasion of beings that are from a dimension separate from the Warp. There was an instance of Space Marines subduing an extradimensional being trying to come through a rift and it is sealed in a containment vault for further study.

    • @Sorain1
      @Sorain1 Před rokem +15

      I've been thinking along those lines as well. How could the C'Tan 'drink the Necrontyrs souls' if a Soul is part of the Warp and the Warp is poision to them? Why is it Acts of Faith function even with the Cadian Pylons cranked up? (When Celestine, a warp entity, was reduced to mortality.) There are things in 40k's lore that don't line up with current explanations. If there is a 'third space' aside from the Materium and the Warp, these could all be manifestations of that.
      Souls having some component there the C'Tan interacted with to draw in energy that wasn't harmful to them. The Pale Wasting, heck even the Rangdan's extreme power could be tied into this as well. To fully go into horror territory, if Psykers are human souls drawing on the Warp, what if Pariah's are pulling on this other space? The Warp energy they absorb has to go somewhere, and if it's falling into this third dimension that would account for it.
      To use a metaphorical demonstration of what might be going on. Imagine there are 3 planes stacked on top of each other. At the bottom is the Warp, as things can fall into/be submerged into it. In the middle is the Materium, which can be touched by the Warp when the walls thin. Above is this third space, which normally never interacts with the Warp. But as the barrier that Material space represents between them thins and Warp space rises into this space, the third realm above is starting to come into contact with it. Things there are starting to notice something spilling foreign energy into their plane of existence.
      Consider the following: Each realm has had a 'master' species. The Materium had the C'Tan, the destruction of which breaks reality in a non-warp manner, as if they are pillars holding something up. The Warp has the Chaos Gods. The Old Ones mastery of the Warp made them the original 'top dog' of the Warp, then after their death the Eldar God's took up that job, now Chaos 4 hold it. What would the master species of this third realm be like? And how much are they getting tired of their nice barrier from the warp collapsing on them?
      GW will want 'new' factions, and the agents of this third lovecraftian nightmare space on the Material plane could fit the bill nicely.

    Another mystery surrounding the Tau is how they were saved from extermination. In M35, after discovering the primitive Tau, and Imperial task force was dispatched to exterminate them and ready their homeworld for human colonization. Just as the task force approached, a big fuck-off warp storm appeared out of nowhere and swallowed up the fleet, sealing the Tau and a bunch of nearby systems off from the Imperium for thousands of years. The storm is still there, and only dissipated enough to allow some passage in and out of the "Damocles Gulf" once the Tau had reached a level of advancement that gave them a decent chance at survival. Someone or something likely engineered that warp storm, so who? I don't think the Eldar generally have the power for it anymore, and I've heard one theory that this means the Tau are the special projects of a surviving Old One, since they would be the only beings besides the Chaos Gods who are capable of conjuring a giant Warp Storm at a whim like that.

In the area of space around it the Shadow in the Warp is so smothering even normal people feel it. On the planets surface is a heap of Biomass the size of a continent. The lore is scant but I wanna say the Nids even actively guard the region, which is SUPER uncharacteristic. What plan is being cooked up here? Is it the next step to the Hive Minds invasion? Pretty terrifying.

    personally i think the terminus decree and the 11th primarch could be the same thing
    1. the 11th legion was the biggest from what ive heared and has been absorbed by the ultra marines sugesting this legion was stable and that the 2nd legion must have been the defective one based on sanguinius comment on the matter of his own legion
    2. the 11th primarch could be subject 11 and in the dark cells
    3. whatever happened to or with this primarch if the above are true COULD mean this primarch discovered the lies of the emperor and was able to legit destroy the imperiuml however it gave him power too
    so i could imagine said primarch so have been able to tell the mechanicus how bullshit everything was, heck he might even have encountered necrons or the void dragon on mars while sniffing around where he shouldnt
    4. having the 11th legion join the ultra marines could have been a deal with the emperor and their primarch, which would make sense
    5. with the terminus decree being able to save a doomed imperium or doom a still standing imperium makes sense if you have the 11th primarch being able to use necron tech and throw around hard truth. a doomed imperium will HAVE to embrace the truth and if its still standing the truth will destroy the imperium
    6. if this happened during the rangdan where the emperor potentially released the void dragon to save the imperium and the 11th primarch was there, it could tie into this
    so i rly do think the 11th primarch has some xenos / necron link, has either a deal with the emperor or is so powerful now that he could replace the emperor as the most powerful primarch in terms of whatever power he has
    cuz i rly think we should have a pure science / dark age primarch who could ruin the imperium

    I like to think, that the 11th primarch Is very native american themed and out of all the primarchs resembles the Big E the most,
    Like Conrad he also grow without parent figure, but unlike him, he lived on a feral world, not catachan, but maybe jurasic park dinosaur style, probably some friendly xeno/humans settlers arived later, befriending him and teaching him some basics
    I also imagine him being a psyker, a kind of shaman king, probably bit stronger than malcador, which Is solid, but not Magnus And Big E levels
    Speaking of E, their meeting occured without any battle, just two dudes in jungle, And when his free spirit heard, about him joing the civilization-pushing war-mongering xeno-eliminating empire, he was like, "Thats the biggest piece of bullsh*t i ever heard." But still reluctantly joined because of some Big E promise/threat/deal or such
    And when rangdan happened he just saw it as an opportunity to dip out, knowing the imperium didnt have enought resources to pursuade him, found himself a feral world and pulled it out of real space like malcador did, and hes here since
    Name... he didnt need one so he didnt name himself, making it easier to erase it later from histori, because there wasnt anything to erase
    His legion, Spirit Walkers, trackers, survivalist, close-combat enthusiasist, with prevalence of weaker psykers and few strong shamans

    I think the most interesting concept brought up in this video is the concept of futuresight and time as a whole.
    The interesting thing is just how many effects futuresight has. You can see the future, but it is in the form of possibilities, and the more powerful you become the more possibilities you can see BECAUSE you can reach them.
    The problem with futuresight and those that have it is that the future predictions are based on the past. This is the importance of information existance. At that moment in time, all the information you need exists. However, someone else having futuresight, and "using it" "updates" the information in the universe, therefore changing what futures are possible.
    This even occurs simply by knowing that the future has been seen. Let's say you are on an adventure, and you have a series of choices to make. The choices you make will change simply knowing that someone else knows that information, because it will affect you subconciously or consiously, because at that moment in time, you will consider things like "Fate", "Destiny", "Self-fulfilling Prophecy". The choices you make w/o the info, will change compared to the choices with the info, because ultimately, even if you had your mind wiped of the info immediately there after, you are now SECONDS later.
    Meaning accessing the future changes the future, and the more the future is accessed the more it changes. Even if the changes are small, the volume of a radio is turned up 1 more percent, someone is 2 inches to the left, Someone gets to the ship 5 seconds later, thus re-arranging the order of people, all of these things update the universal FLASH MEMORY, until the future suddenly and chaotically veers to a destination no-one fore-saw, because everyone was seeing it.
    So the problem with future sight, is that other people also have future sight, and as long as you and others have future sight, the future is undeterminable because of the "Updates" and people attempting to "Correct" the future. However, any event that does not involve a future-seer could remain rigid.
    The other problem with the "future" is that warhammer 40k has an omni-presence issue. The best way to describe it is, the warp can send you into the future or past and from what I have seen, causality doesn't need to exist, because just like the previous point, the universe doesn't care as long because its information "updates".
    For example, you could be sent back in time, and murder your grandfather before they met your grandmother, and nothing would happen. The reason nothing happens is the past, present and future don't exist, YOU as a SINGULAR BEING, are affected by "ENTROPY" and "TIME" in a single direction and magnitude, but other things in the warp are not.
    Think of it like modding a video game. You boot it up, create a fresh, new character. You then go into the code, and enable 100% completion and give yourself the most OP broken weapons, perfect stats and every ability.
    Did you collect any of them? Did actually collect every item, go to every boss and kill them, finish every trophy by yourself?
    No, you just "Updated" the information to your liking. There was no cause or effect, no past, or present. Simply "Updated".
    The same idea exists within the warp gods, as pointed out by majorkill, "A god doesn't exist, until it does, then as it always has". If and when a god exists, it overwrites gains the power and ability to "Overwrite" itself and "Update" the universe.
    (Other than the pink god, it is kind of a plothole here. Because if it always existed, then it was never "created" and if it was never "created" then the eye of terror and the Eldar/Dark Eldar issues would never have occured...Unless if it wanted it too, and thus overwrite it's information SO IT WOULD always happen, but then that is it just being a huge **** which kinda seems canon or thematic.)
    Actually I am going to expand upon the point above. If every god is omnipresent and non Temporal, then it would be the equivalent as follows:
    Every couple of months; some A-hole deletes your data on a shared arcade machine, specifically your highscore on a level you really enjoy, and are proud of beating so completely that you have your name at the top, you go back to the console, go to that specific level, absolutely demolish all the nerds and plebians who dared to attempt to claim YOUR RECORD and REASSERT YOUR RIGHTFUL DOMINANCE, then drop it again until someone else tries to delete it or challenges you....
    This means that to the warp gods time is an arcade filled non-partitioned segments of time in the guise of videogames as they, and every other being in the warp, attempts to one-up one another all the while the games involve billions of sapient or intelligent lifeforms thus making the the game sentient and procedurally generated....
    This would explain why the eye or terror exists, why certain events in time are permanent regardless of futuresight or time travel. Its because to the gods or warp being: "ITS MY TURN ON THE CONSOLE, AND I WILL HAVE IT THE WAY *I* WANT, AND AS *WE* AGREED UPON, QUIT OVERWRITING MY SAVES TZEETCH YOU BASTARD".

    I started having my own theory about the lost Primarchs once I binge watched all of TTS. Admittedly, some of my theory is based on how the Emperor acts in TTS, but their logic sorta makes sense. That he keeps things secret because knowledge of them can cause them to become worse or for his plans to not happen, since that's how the Chaos gods kinda work. i.e. if you let others know a certain demon exists, it becomes more powerful from belief in it. Or, specifically in TTS, if he told Magnus all his plans ahead of time, Magnus would fuck the plan up somehow, so he only gives him bits and pieces at a time.
The other Primarchs have enough willpower to remember their existence but not think about them much, similar to how they can resist Chaos more than the average human, but if they started openly talking about them, it could bring them back and start the whole debacle again. Hell, maybe the Primarchs don't even know the real reason why they were erased, and Big E invented some other disaster to explain why they had to be erased and never spoken of.

    I wanna say that I respect your attitude towards sponsorship and your audience. I wish more CZcamsrs would be like you and remember how overly commercializing content can be off-putting. You're doing it exactly right.

    At one point before the siege started Dorn stated that if the 2 missing Primarchs were still alive during the Heresy then the loyalists would have already lost. so who knows what they actually did.

    Alright, first time I've heard of the Terminus Decree, but what I think would be cool is the enemy find out about the terminus decree, finds it's locations because of the super ultra awesome piece of tech they have and find the box, open it and bam! It was a trap meant to destroy the threat in it's entirety. Could be a cool way to kill off a race if GW decided to.

    This is the first I've heard the theory that the Tau are remnants of the Necrontyr, but it's definitely an interesting one. If you think about it, it almost seems silly to assume that 100% of the Necrontyr were converted across an entire galaxy-spanning civilization. Even if the Tau aren't the last pre-cyborg remnants, it would definitely be interesting to bring some of them in as a plot point someday.

      The Necrontyr colonized via slower than light stasis ships made from living metal. The Tau might be a lost colony that came apart and went barbarian after landing.
