Hi friends! Today we are going to be ATTEMPTING to create a diy plaster table. How this idea came into my head? I'm not sure. I was at the dollar store and saw big bowls, then I saw big pizza pans, then I thought of plaster... throw em all together and we've got a brand new diy table. I have been seeing plaster tables on high end home decor websites for SO MUCH MONEY but before now I could never figure out how to diy it. This diy side table is a total learning experience for me because I couldn't find much info on how to do it online. After a lot of thought and as much research as I could find, I took some risks and figured out how to make this diy side table out of plaster! You can use these same principles to make a diy table of your own... even a kitchen dining table could be made using plaster (though I'd probably get a second hand table to use as a base). This side table only cost me $25 (excluding the top coat that I already had) making it a super affordable diy table! Hope you enjoy this video and learned something cool. My goal is always to inspire not only you, but myself. These videos push me to keep learning and keep pushing the boundaries of my own creativity. So thanks for giving me the opportunity to keep inspiring and for looking to me for some inspiration! Love u! ♡
Thank you so much to Skillshare for sponsoring this video!

Plaster of Paris (I used about 7lbs of this - 2 of the small packages): amzn.to/3qraUyV
Top Coat (you may try a different top coat as well - some reviews say there is slight yellowing though it is not supposed to yellow): amzn.to/3vb7MuT

I like it.
My husband suggested putting POP or other heavy things in the bottom bowl for more stability.
Hi Dalia!!! THIS was my absolute inspiration to make a side table for my living room. I have a picture of it if you would like to see it. I also used a slightly larger pizza pan and added a 15" circular wood slab on top of the pan and stained it. I also used rocks in the bottom to weigh it down and a stove cover on the bottom for a base. I painted mine black with a gold shimmer. THANK YOU THANK YOU for your creativity!!! Everyone that sees my table loves it!
I want to see a picture of your table!!! sounds so pretty!!
This is why I love your channel - your sense of adventure when it comes to diy's. This table is awesome! Now I will be going through my house looking for something to put plaster on...
Thanks Sandra!!! Let me know what you end up plastering haha.
Try the husband lol!!!
What a creative thought process - never would of thought of that. Great work.
Wow Dalia can I peek inside that creative brain of yours ! It came out absolutely beautiful ! Love it !
Hahaha thanks so much!🥰
You SHOULD be proud! I tip my hat to your bravery and commitment to your projects! This was an interesting spin for plaster; I can see it in many finishes, as well. Thanks again!
Thank you so much!!!
Worked with plaster before and using your hands is really the best way to go as if you were working with pottery clay! Love the silhouette of the sidetable! So genius to make it with easily accessible/thriftable materials
If I'm doing a resin piece coating or working on other none porous surfaces, I give it a sand to rough up the surface. This ensures the medium that you're using has something to grip. I'm not big on sanding, but it will save a little bit of money with not having to invest in tapes etc. Love how this turned out, totally amazing and you'd never know it is bowls and pizza pans
Great project Miss...congratulations on 100K followers as well! I really appreciated that you are blazing your own projects and that you saw your vision to fruition! Edit....thank you for sharing that you are in your pj’s, I do my best work in mine! Your genuine good self shines through in these videos.
You turn anything into something amazing!
Dalia!!!! The table is beautiful.
Looks amazing! Thank you 😊
This provided a LOT of bit of inspiration..along with so many of your other videos. I like your style and your creative process and your DIYs are A1. I’m doing a bedroom makeover for the first time. I haven’t actually given my bedroom any attention my whole adult/married life (almost 6 years haha) so I’m excited and have some of your DIYs in my list of projects! 😊😅 wooden dowel vase, wooden snake arch, this table, and I plan to frame some canvas art with the wood pieces from Home Depot like you did. Really enjoy your channel and your DIYs.
Love this!
Girl! You are so talanted! 🤩 It's beautyful! 😍
Your table came out sooo beautiful. Love you creativity.. such a good idea. You just gave me an idea for some hanging lights with plaster!! Thank you
Would love to see a photo of your idea come to life!!💞
The table turned out so good..super creative.. Also, totally off topic but your skin looks amazing 🤩
Great as always!
Very creative DIY! I just found you a couple weeks ago and have been binging on your channel💖 There are so many of your fabulous pieces that I want to recreate or use as a template for something else💜 Congratulations on your 100K, major goals🙌🏼
I live this, you did such a good job!
Congratulations for 100k 💐💐💐💐
Thank you so much!!!💞
@@DIYDalia omggg!!!!! Want a unboxing of silver play button asap♡♡♡
I'm so excited to binge watch your videos! Wish I'd seen these when I first moved in LOL 😆
I have been trying to think of a way to dupe the Tova Rue sunset marble table...this is a great start! Awesome as always!
Wow wow 😲🤩! In love with your creations 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Thanks so much girl!!🙏
Woohoo you beat me to making this, I bought plaster of paris so long ago and also couldn't find many previous research -- which is great because now I can follow your tutorial :)
Excellent job!
This looks so fun! I think I’m going to try making this
Let me know how it goes!!💞
You do such creative diys! Not just the basic small tchotchkes that a lot of other channels do. Wishing you lots of growth!
That's Amazing!! It looks so good. Congratulations on 100k.
This is dope and will be going down!! Thanks so much for sharing this process! You are wondrous. 😊
I love to see your process. The drywall tape was pretty smart! I have seen a couple of other you tubers make tables in similar way but had used spray paint. I have seen the plaster concrete type paint mixture on vases and that may have been easier but your table looks awesome. 😁
Thanks so much!! So glad you liked the video 🥰
Thank you for the idea. I’ll try it on a little piece first 😊
You've to prime the surface first, then apply POP, when ever I use POP, I used my hands and sometimes I mix it with spackle and glue.
Love it!
Love it!👍🏻
Looks great.
This turned out great! I’m planning to do something similar so I’m so glad I saw this video, really great tips!
Congratulations on 100,000 subscribers! I enjoy your DIY's
Thanks so much Sharon!!💞
Wow I gotta try!
Love how your showed the test with the tape before you went and covered the whole table in plaster!
WOW YOU ARE GOOD AND DARING - THANKS FOR SHARING
I love it - it looks fantastic! And now that you've done all the hard work, I hope the other CZcamsrs that copy it on their channel actually give you the credit for it!
I will definitely be trying this
Great job!!!
Loving the lipstick!
Totally loved it ! Love from India❤️
Very Creative
Wow💖💖💖 your so creative
You have to use drywall mud with drywall tape for it to stick. A really good tool is a rubber spatula to help spread the plaster out and around
That is so awesome
Too good!!!
I can't believe I only just found this video after making my own plaster stool. I really could have done with those tips to smooth down with your fingers and also with the knife as it was drying!!!
So talented and creative! Not to mention Selena's doppelganger ❤
I'm moving to a new place and have been searching for creative inexpensive ideas to get the place to look cute.... Love your channel 💕❤️
i just did a similar DIY before i stumbled upon this video and ended up doing the EXACT same thing with the EXACT same gloves haha! now i wanna use the rest of my plaster to make a side table like this too ahh!!
I have worked with plaster a little bit during a home reno project and the tape is not really supposed to stick without the plaster. When I did my project, puting up a new wall, I kind of had to stick the tape on with the plaster if that makes sense. I didn't use that exact kind, but I think that's generally how it is supposed to work. Hope that helps! Great job on the table 😊😊
Nice!!!🎉
This is awesome CoNgRaTuLaIoNs!
WoW Dalia you truly are a creative genius! I’m feeling incredibly inspired and proud of you. I realize that you just posted this video, but I think that you would have completed this project at least a few days ago. So I’m curious if after having/using this side table you would change anything? Suggest a different medium? How much weight do you think it comfortably holds? Is it sturdy? So for asking so many questions. I’m asking because I would love to attempt this project but have 3 kids and am slightly worried that it would be easily damaged or topple over. If you suggest that it might not be kid friendly no worries 😉 I will just attempt to recreate this a different time. Thank you so very much Dalia

Excited I found this video. There's SO little information about this. Trying to make a plaster coffee table with a wood form.
I know right! I've been thinking of making a plaster coffee table too and a wood form would be perfect! Share your finished project with me - I want to see ❤️
I'm really impressed with your side table!!! Great job! I am definitely going to be making one for myself.
Thank you!! Please do share your side table when it's done! 🥰
I love this so much!! Does the plaster make it heavy?
Super creative!! I wish I could do this but I don’t even want to think about what my kids would do to this lol
Thank you for this DIY!😊 also, do you mind share what's your matte lipstick is? It is so pretty. Looks so good on you🤍
Unbelievable 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Clever you!!!
✨INCRÍVEL ✨ 🇧🇷
The bowls look good just clear..or you could fill them with something pretty...like coloured rattan balls .
I did some of your diy numbers for my wedding
Hiya! I considered making something similar out of Quickcrete but this looks much lighter. My only concern is durability. If this got knocked over by a dog or a kid, what do you think would happen? Would it break into shards? Or would it stay together with just a small chip? Just wondering because I think this is a better way to do it than to try to sculpt concrete.
Love from India ❤
I would be interested in knowing how it holds up. Does it chip easily? Does it crack if moved?
Is the mesh on the table before you put the plaster necessary? Or can you do the plastering without it?
♡♡Love you♡♡
🥰🥰🥰
When mixing or sanding plaster of Paris, you should always wear a mask or respirator as well. 😉
Congrats! 100K subscribers!
I need this table years ago from another diyer
How has it held up? I tried to make a table and the plaster of Paris cracked and chipped. I didn’t use the tape wondering if that will help?
❤️
Holy cow I can’t believe that was made of of dollar store items! Also congrats on 100k you totally deserve it!
😍
Hey dalia, Its very nice... But you can also make design with air dry clay on the bottom part... It will look much better then.. @DIY dalia
How much KG of plaster of paris did you used? Thank you for answering :)
Came back to say it’s not UV protected
Which respirator do you use?
I use the respirator by 3M! They're better than the disposable ones.
If you use more water you have longer working time.
You put plaster on then tape then plaster. then sand
Be careful when working with plaster of paris. You shouldn't work with it with your bare hands. Once it hardens and dries it becomes very hot and can cause burns. There have been serious injuries with people who have made plaster casts, who even had to have digits or limbs amputated.
Yikes! Thanks for this. Definitely should've used gloves right from the get go. 😑
