This Is Probably Why You Can't Use High Level Tennis Technique

  • Tennis is a sport that requires a lot of coordination. Lack of coordination is one of the main reasons players aren’t able to improve their technique or hit ATP style strokes in the way they want. It’s also what causes players to make excess unforced errors, when they try to hit heavy shots with more power.
In this video I take you through a series of coordination assessments to help you identify coordination deficits that are holding you back at the moment. When you do the assessments, it's a good idea to record yourself. Most players have really bad body awareness and they think they are doing the assessments well, when there are actually major deficits.

Hi Richard, this is a great video.
I get into trouble with people for daring to point this concept out.
The other thing that you sort of touched on, is they have to have the strength and the ability to recruit and activate the correct muscles and joints as well as for all of them to be conditioned enough to support the necessary training repetitions required to be good in matches. eg. It is not good enough to be able to hit a good serve, you need to be able to hit a good serve close to 100 times in a row in practice. Then you might be able to maintain a good serve in a match. But I digress a little.
Anyway, great video and excellent conceptual coaching.
The process ought to be very successful if you can get anybody to follow through with it fully.
