Yes, we’re back!
Besides my previous job as metro driver (see my post on my channel 😉), I came to work for RET as a bus driver. Every no wand then I have the opportunity to work a bus shift, which is were this video is set.
I’ve chosen to record this journey and share it with you, to show you the effects on public transport of the measures taken to fight the spread of Covid-19. Obviously it became a lot more quiet in the streets and at the stops. We as public transport companies in the Netherlands have put a large number of measures in place to be able to still operate public transport as safe as possible. That way, we can stay available for those in vital occupations who rely on the public transport to get to and from work.
The most important measures:
- Boarding is only allowed via the rear doors. Also, the area behind the driver is blocked, in order to protect him or her as much as possible.
- A maximum of 15 passengers is allowed on the bus at any given time.
Especialy the second measure is why we ask everyone to only use public transport when absolutely necessary. If public transport is also used for casual outings and other unnecessary journeys, we may be forced to refuse those who need to use public transport.
For that reason it is said time and time again: Public transport is not an outing at the moment.
This video is filmed with image stabilisation switched on. I suspect that it was having some issues, since the image is quite jerky.

I wanted to see were I used to live in Rotterdam Zuid, So I rode all the Trams around Rotterdam Trying to find my way around the city again. But I was surprised when I took Bus 44 to Zuidplein. Coming out of the Mass Tunnel going through the back streets and coming on the Amelandseplein I said WAIT thats were I used to live.........So Thank you who ever posted this.....You Made Day........Thanks again.

A lovely tour of Rotterdam by bus. You get to experience city life more than you do by train as buses go through the interiors of the city unlike trains (that is, with the exclusion of the trams). Thanks for sharing this video.😃

Mooi zeg! Als je op de Sluisjesdijk rijdt rij je zeker ook de 78/80 (Regio Hoogvliet). Dr rijden tegenwoordig heel veel SLE-120H en LLE-120 ook wel wat citaro's maar ook niet zo veel meer. Ik kom ook bij de RET als Buschauffeur op de Sluisjesdijk. Groeten, Nick

Ik ben zelf ook buschauffeur in het OV. Leuk om dit in Rotterdam te zien. Komen er nog meer bus traject video’s? Zou ik erg leuk vinden om te zien.

Mag een buschauffeur eingelijk zelf bepalen wat voor bus hij gebruikt? Ik zie namelijk op lijn 70 soms een waterstof bus soms een gelede en dan weer een electrische zonder enig patroon

Mooi video Wouter, helaas is beetje miselijk van die camera beetje beweging haha, heb jij de gelede bus gereden of nooit? Op remise Sluisjesdijk staan er 2 geledebussen, helaas die zijn defect 😒 Ik hoop dat jij een keer op lijn 70 trajectvideo maken!

Hoi Wouter, hier een reactie van mij uit. Heb van de week een video bekeken van lijn 44 die gemaakt is door Train of Europe zitten kijken, hij heeft ook opnames van buslijn (1)56 van Vlaardingen West naar Holy begraafplaats uitgebracht, dit denk ik ook in de Corona dienstregeling gemaakt dus ben jij de 2 die de rit ge upload hebt! (niet slecht bedoeld hoor). Weet niet of jij deze video/video's gezien hebt, ze staan erop!
