Why wasn't a representative of the Union in the meeting with the TFTs when they were laid off? They were given a lot of misinformation - they were told it was a 30 day layoff, they were told that they lose their time after 30 days, they were also told they don't get supp pay.
I was told no one asked for a union rep to come down and be with them when they were laid off. Pretty lame excuse honestly. I was also told to not listen to the rumors but it’s hard to block them out when they get tossed around at work, in group chats, and facebook posts. It would be helpful to have accurate straightforward information provided by the union, especially while rumors are thrown around. It would ease a lot of people’s anxiety if the union addresses these rumors with honest information while the situations were taking place. Just a helpful suggestion.
Major failure on the UAW for this. Hopefully, every TFT stops paying dues since they clearly aren't represented. Just stealing money at this point. No confidence in this union.
