- If you know me, you know I love some tragedy in fiction, and oh boy does Fern deliver. Fern has become my favorite character in Adventure Time, and his relationship with Finn is one of my favorite parts of the later seasons.

the fact you dont even have a thousand subscribers with content this good is heartbreaking. talented and passionate creators like you should receive way more love and attention than the big content farms. keep up the amazing work man ❤
Wow, thank you so much! Comments like these really mean a lot to me.
oh my god its four in the morning so im not gonna watch this rn but thank you for making a video about fern, almost nobody talks about how beyond sad his storyline is and i love him
fern is my favırite character ı was very sad fern turned a tree him apperance and voices is very good man
I remember when i liked fern more than finn manly cause i tought his hat was better XD
Great video sir
Amazing video bro keep it up!
I agree that there should have been a lot more episodes about Fern, like he gets screwed over, he doesn't play a significant role in any of the mini series which is a little sad. I agree that seeing his interactions with other characters could have been interesting (wb FP and Ice King) and maybe if they focused on his specific of being the Finn sword rather than the shared memories him and Finn had, idk i just think the concept of the Finn sword is really weird, disturbing, and interesting, and wished they explored it more in the show (like his perspectives, why he didn't complain when he first became a sword). I also still think the resolution to it is still a little lame, like maybe they should have conveyed that Finn was trying to understand Fern more instead of just "oh we both share torment"
Also do you think the sword Shermy picks up has a Finn in it? I guess it's up to interpretation, idk like he might still be in the sword and can provide adventure advice to them, or like maybe he isn't since the sword seemed to be destroyed, or at least altered because when he dies its like a seed or something.
Yeah the Finn Sword would be like a punishment in anything else so it's pretty weird how it's never really discussed that this Finn had his life ripped away to become the weapon of another Finn. I don't think there's Finn inside the sword Shermy gets but I also don't think it's completely impossible or anything I just think the story of Fern is over.
@@FactFace lol ya like Finn sword is even worse than Fern, at least Fern had control over himself (with the influence of the grass demon), like imagine living your life and then you just become an object and you have to watch your other self live the life you used to live and use you, expect you can't do much about it because you are an object, its not like you can just go away or anything.
@@yoshihammerbro435 According to Finn Sword himself, he 'liked it before', presumably because he could still help people as a sword, and that's a thing he loves.
Did you just say your wisdom tooth is coming in?? Are you 15😂you dont sound like it
Nah I'm an adult. I guess it just came in late
I don’t wanna be a dick here, but I did have a major issue with the video: The first half is basically a waste of time. Either someone hasn’t watched all of Adventure Time and the recap means nothing to them, or they have watched it and already know these things. The only real relevance the recap has is for people who forgot what happened, but that’s a pretty small portion of the video’s audience to dedicate half the video to.
Nah you're not a dick just for providing criticism. I like to have context I can fall back on when talking about stuff so I wouldn't have to explain it randomly if I was to talk about say the Finn Sword, and I also tried to provide the recap for people who haven't seen the show so they wouldn't be completely lost on things I thought were important like the Finn Sword. I can see though that it was probably too long and I honestly didn't even need to bring up some stuff like the Bandit Princess. Thanks for the comment, I appreciate criticism like this as I'm always looking to improve!
I think this writing style is a product of video essay/ written essay conventions. It also serves a purpose. Adventure time is a long running cartoon and it has been over with for some time now, and like the creator said at the beginning, he realized he didn’t actually catch a lot of the later seasons when they were airing. The same happened with me, and as I recall adventure time was hardly advertising new episodes apart from the miniseries events during this period, there’s a lot of people who may a) not have full context for this section of the story, or b) simply have not seen it in a while that would still appreciate a specific recap of fern’s origins, actions, and ending in order to further analyze his character. I also think it’s pretty reasonable to recap specifics in service of that analysis because it is bringing to the forefront textual evidence directly related to the points outlined in the video. Some creators do really overdo it in their ratio of summary vs including their own thoughts, but I really think this is a good example of someone adding something to it throughout!

What a stupid take. No shit it's for people who need a recap thats what recaps are for
@@ChanceGuevara A quick recap maybe, but it shouldn’t need to take more than 2 minutes tops. If that.
