I made my husband's Pumpkin Head Halloween costume like this, it turned out fabulous, added teeth and he loves it. Thank you for teaching us this, I had a blast doing it.
very cool!
Totally agree, Loctite is far superior foam and doesn't swell up months down the road. I so thought you were gonna throw the first half up in the air like a pizza dough after pulling it outta the bowl, hahaha.
I thought the exact same thing. Lol.
the thought did cross my mind.
@@StiltbeastStudios 😆
The black wash really made it look like a pumpkin
I love this. I used the Loctite. I think it was too fresh, lol. It took almost 10 minutes to skin enough to be handled. I used a light spray of Pam. No issues painting but I use spray paint. I’ve got a lot to learn about how to handle this stuff. That was hilarious I’m gonna pump you up
what did you use pam on?
the water helps it skin so spray with water and its ready in about 4 min
@@StiltbeastStudios I sprayed the bowls with Pam. But I did use the water on the foam it slightly skinned but was untouchable for at least 10 minutes. The can said it was made in March of this year. Maybe it was too cool
was it locktite foam or great stuff foam? locktite is 4 min and great stuff is 8-10 min to skin with water.
@@StiltbeastStudios it was Loctite. I specifically bought that as great stuff grow too much for my liking. I wish it came out of the straw as smoothly as yours does but it was wild. I did try to do it exactly the way you did too.
The great foam pumpkins are amazing. I have made about 10 very large ones for stage (Cinderella )
BEEN WATCHING YOU FOR YEARS AND YOU'VE BEEN A GREAT INSPIRATION IN MY BUILDING DIFFERENT PROPS I SAID HELLO TO YOU AT TEXAS FRIGHTMARE IN AN ELEVATOR BUT I WAS REALLY DRUNK AND COULDN'T REALLY EXPRESS HOW MUCH I ENJOYED YOUR CONTENT
and now you are yelling at me lol. I appreciate you !
I remember going to a big pumpkin patch in Georgia one fall, and my wife and I completely MARVELED at the variety of sizes and colors and *textures* that they all had! I'd have to say, the more it looks like it won't win any beauty pageants, the more realistic it looks! AND more halloween-y, too!
Ooh something I know....drill small hole in bottom of each plastic half...cover with duct tape on outside...do your normal thing but when ready to pull out remove tape and get your air hose out...little bursts thru hole separates easy from container ❤
They are beautiful! Just the right amount of grunge.
Thank you Allen, another great build. Nice to see the contrast between the two materials, from last build and this one. Gonna get that pumpkin done this weekend and hopefully not ruin the build, myself, carpets etc haha. All the best and happy halloween
good luck, go make stuff!
And for a guy my age....Love it! Haha! Great work again brother!!
I love your creativity!
But if it was me making pumpkins I would just buy those black bowls you’re using as a mould and just glue them together with a combination of E6000 and hot glue, then use the foam to create a stem and maybe to accentuate my overall shape. Then I’d paint that sucker up and be done. 😂😂😂
Easy peasy lemon squeezie!
We used to make paper Mache Easter Egg Piñatas by blowing up balloons to use as our form. Wonder if that would work with the foam stuff?
Or…… another idea that came to me was the possibility of gluing the bowls together then cutting it perpendicular to create 2 vertical mould halves instead of your horizontal halves? Might eliminate that weird middle area?
Been looking for someone like you for a while…. You make me sooo happy ❤️
Happy you’re enjoying the content!
Another great build. Thanks Allen. I learn something with each video. You're the best. 😊
I appreciate that! its our pleasure- go make stuff!
Thank you for these videos, I used your tutorials to make my first loctite mask. If I could return the favor a bit, if you ever want to make a mask that is spherical, try using a punch Balloon as a mold, you can inflate it to the size you want and when the mask sets, slowly deflate the balloon to peel it from the foam.
Great tip!! I was thinking the same thing!! The punch balloon is much thicker. That's how we made planets when we did paper mache for school projects for my kids. I've learned a lot from Allen, he is so talented. So sad Halloween is almost over😭🎃
I actually keep making videos all year actually
I'm very impressed Allen! The method two pumpkin (on your right at the end) is the best, as you've said, and is just so good. Nothing in nature is perfect, so that pumpkin fits in with being an ugly, but realistic pumpkin. I think you may well have stumbled on the best way of creating a pumpkin, cheaply and quickly. I will be attempting my own soon, and hope they come out as good as yours. Cheers.
Once again Mr. Hopps is inspiring me to take a chance & try something new.
I bought a female half torso mannequin with hanger. It's a hard plastic & doesn't have any under cuts.
My thought was run some PVC pipe where spine would be in case I can't get it out, it's still useable for my needs.
I'm hoping it will come out, if I use water as the release.
Last time I made a weeping angel I used home made paper clay to build the neck, shoulders & collarbone area ( because she was wearing a sleeveless dress) & it was a pain and to labor intensive.
Release or not released, I will have tried & learned something.
I wish I could think of a way to update you all, maybe tomorrow I'll figure that out also.
Thanks Allen, your amazing & I really appreciate your videos. ( We all do!)
I'm going to see i
I'm soooooo happy when you make anything but especially PUMPKINS 🎃 🎉🎉🎉
Those look great and you’ve taught me to have a lot of fun using the loctite gap and crack foam. So much so that I’ve started rebuilding my dummies and witches with pvc and foam. So much lighter and easier to set up and take down. You have a a great influence on crafty people!! Thanks so much!!!
Your videos are always so amazing and informative. Thank you for making the videos.
These are great and saveable for years
These turned out awesome, I've been wanting to get back into making props and decorating with things that are handmade, rather than store bought, it looks much more realistic
Go for it! We should do some kind of collaboration!
I love watching your videos. I think I might actually go home and try this one.
you can do it! go make stuff!
The Great Pumpkin lives!
Hey Allen, thank you so much for all your inspiration and all the content you put out there you’re amazing. I made five of those Loctite pumpkins, and when I got down to making the last two I was able to do it with just one can once again thank you very much for everything that you do you are a phenomenal inspiration. Thank you.
very cool!
Very cool pumpkins!
I made a pumpkin head, but I used the foam on the outside of the bowls. I attached them and, once hardened, I used an X-acto blade the cut them apart and glued them back together. I had no problem with it losing shape.
I like both of them. The warty one is kinda cranky looking for a haunted house theme. I love it
Perhaps it would help to spray, the pumpkin, have a little higher, essentially to give the outer edge of the ridge which you can marry together and carve away. That might make it easier to unite the two halves. Even if only one side of the pumpkin head that hi edge, it would make connecting them a little easier. Maybe? Also seemed like it would be handy to have a stem or some sort of handle at the top in order to lower the first half onto the second when you are uniting them to make your full pumpkin I was just thinking a hole with a piece of wire stuck through so you could lift it up. Something that would make a little damage, but give you the leverage. This is rad! Thank you for doing this🎉
yeah its pretty simple, make a few and see if you implement those improvements!
I did something similar but hand size. A made a half a mold, used the spray foam and after it had set a few minutes pressed it into the mold so it would be hallow. Then I hot glued the two half’s together and reinforced the seam with blue shop towels with diluted wood glue. I also used the wood glue/shop towel method to make some wrinkles. After they dried I used a dremel to carve the faces and painted them black then dry brushed two different colors of orange over the black and added a small piece of rope hot glued to the top for a stem and a battery operated tea light. I sold them at a hayride event and people went crazy over them. They couldn’t believe they were made out of spray foam. My husband asked me where I got the idea and I was very proud to say from you. Thank you for everything you teach us!
wish I could see a picture of it!
Due to the fact that I’m an electronic idiot I can’t seem to figure out how to send you a picture but I would be THRIlLED to send you one of the finished product. Just tell me where to send it.
Thank you so much for trying things out for us. This way we know what to do and what not to do.
Your vids are inspirational and informative.
thats whsat its all about- Im the guy who makes the mistakes so you dont have to!
After watching your Loctite mask clips, I make a form out of a up side down 5 gal bucket with pipe insulation on the bucket. I wrapped it in plastic wrap. I was able to spray Loctite on outside of the form. I created a 3h4 pumpkin. The ridges of the pipe insulation did not show on the outside but I was able to sculpt the pumpkin shape as you have shown. I made several and added a deer motor tilting mec and flame bulb inside the pumpkin. Turned out great. I have heard a rumor that a Loctite Pro gun is in the works. Have you heard anything about that. I love the Great Stuff Pro gun. Thanks for the Dementor build info. The Greater DC Home Haunt Dementor uild was great.
that sounds awesome- I will most likely get a gun when they come out but not use it for videos.
I just love you!!! Anything you do is magnificent!!!
Thank you so much for these videos!!!
glad ya like em!
I saw your pool noodle pumpkins, and you are so fun to watch.
Glad you’re enjoying the projects!
Thank you for the ideas!
I'll definitely be making a bunch of these next year. Out of all the "Halloween prop" channels, Allen is the best! It's true, you can't live without spray foam!
I needed this for props for a short film about pumpkins that we are filming in march so THANK YOU
I've watched you Go Make Stuff for years and I love your work. I really love the pumpkins that you made in this video. I like the first one better though. Thank you for everything you do.
Thank you! I made a scary, very tall scarecrow with a solar light. I even melted some plastic sheeting to make it even creepier. You are awesome.! Wish I could come work with you guys!!! Happy haunting!
you could at least come visit!
You crazy bastard, Inflating with air!!! I love it!!! Genius!!!
Blossom pumpkins my friend all the workers in the detail in the imagination and you got both
Im starting to be able to read these...thanks!
Allen I love it brother keep up the amazing work. I haven't finished the video yet bc it was only uploading a few minutes ago but I can already tell it's amazing lol
Thanks! Will do!
Before you begin, the serious scope thing, your pumpkin, with his bumps and rudimentary stem, looks so much like heirloom squash is in pumpkins. They have warts and knobs, and all sorts of intriguing shapes.
They both look great! I like the color wash. Thanks, Allen ❤
Me too!
Wow… I‘ about to go decorating right now! Love your vids
Yay! Thank you!
I have learnt so much from you. Thank you
Happy to hear that!
Luv the video!!! Inspiring, educational , and funny. I had to pause the video when you inflated the pumpkin(very funny!!!). Please keep making stuff.
Seeing the texture of that pumpkin’s skin I could see that foam making a great brain sculpture.
that would be pretty easy with how it comes out of the can.
Lol, a streamer that aims to please😂. Alan you never disappoint. You are inspiring, well worth any ones time. If you are in to crafting and like to smile you have to watch Alan he is addicting to listen to I bet a blast to be around. Thanks for this I am staying with great stuff😊
sometime cheap wins lol. its a toss up for me, Id most likely use what I have on hand.
Pretty cool. Really like the 80s Synthwave in the background.
Glad you like it!
Not sure if there is an actual translucency or not, but the camera seems to imply that. Looks like the light somewhat shines through the skin of the pumpkin. I think for the money, this is an awesome option to cookie cutter foam pumpkins. I wonder if you could make a massive one (in one piece) using one of those plastic witch cauldrons? No seams either. Although you may need a spatula or something crafty to get the foam out. Anyhoo, thanks for sharing. 🤘💀
Im sure you could- in the thinner areas there can be some light bleed- next time I will base them in Flax seal first as a light block.
@@StiltbeastStudios I mean...I don't mind some of that light bleeding through. Either way works. Great work. 👏
Very cool ! The locktite JoL came out really nice! Thanks Allen!
Always love watching your vids. So cool.
love this channel, keep up the good work!!
Love your work, and you are entertaining. I hope you’ve got good ventilation in your work space.
maybe thats why Im entertaining....
Love these. Thanks for sharing.
Love your work!!
Happy Halloween to you as well. It's always a pleasure to watch your tutorials. So informative!!! And you make me believe I can do it, too. Thank you. 🎃
Definitely need to try this
you do!
Fabulous!
Thanks for all your ideas I tried this product for a large Ludo head from Labyrinth this week and it worked out wonderfully I only had a few hours to make it but I impressed myself and would love to share a picture with you thanks again for your ideas
please- you can show me on the stiltbeast live creepers group
Ok sorry but not sure where that is on your page. Does that mean when the next time you go live. Sorry never done this before
stiltbeast live creepers is a facebook group that we have.
I have to say, with the carving you did, I like the “ugly” pumpkin 🎃 better. He has so much character and he looks a little evil 😈 🧡🖤🧡
yeah, was more worried about getting the process shown, yall can pick your own pumpkin face.
I wonder if you could do what people use to do with that craft project from years ago (I remember my grandma doing it when I was little lol) with the balloon and the string/glue. Maybe you could use a balloon taped to the table (because a non taped balloon would roll around and be annoying LOL) and spray the foam around it. Then its one piece to start with, you would use less foam only having to do one layer, and don't mess around with the two floppy sides not wanting to stick to one another lol. The hole on the bottom where the balloon was sitting on the table you can use to pop the balloon once the foam is hardened, you can still carve the pumpkin since its hollow, and you have a spot for the candle to go since theres the hole on the bottom. (Fake candles only people! No real fire near foam please).
I love these pumpkins though! I finally did a project with some spray foam (used great stuff though because I wasn't trying to shape it at all) and made some embers for a cauldron I made. Love being able to use materials that make those kind of crafts so quick and easy and look so good!
thats possible, this way is pretty easy though, balloons also tend to be teardrop shaped so I think I prefer the shape of the bowl pumpkins. but do whatever is easier for you. Ive tried the balloon method a few years ago and this is a step forward in ease in my opinion.
I made a pumpkin head for my costume using your last video! wish I could share a photo.
Thanks for another great video.
Our pleasure!
Always love your videos. Ima go make stuff. I need to make a sword and a snake. Both spray foam. Should be interesting 🤔
Go for it! you can do it! go make stuff!
Great Pumpkins🎃
I have a idea, you can make a huge one by using one of those inflatable beach balls
I actually just shot a video with a beach ball. not a pumpkin- but it will be out in a little bit.
Thanks a bunch for this video. I tried the GS method and it shrunk / shriveled a lot…… gonna use this method next.
yeah it all depends on climate and conditions.
Love your work. Hope to try this stuff
do it!
Ive been enjoying your videos lately, unfortunately this lockite foam is around $50 a can on amazon for canada. Hahaaa yes it is ridiculous. Thanks for the great vids!
Very cool!
U r the Man!!!!!!
I wonder if it would be useful to make the internal halves out of Great Stuff (so they join together easier, and also because it's cheaper) and loctite for the external layer (for sculpting).
you can, youd just need two types on hand.
I love the stim...Its perfect and kinda flat on top.. LOVED that ...and "no shrivel issues at his age? bahahahahaha
Any chance you got a tutorial for a easy cheap ZERO (dead dog from Nightmare before Christmas) decoration??? We’re wanting to do all Nigntmare before Christmas decorations for this Christmas season!
We’re Big fans btw lol thanks for all the awesome videos!!!
This is awesome! Would live to see a Leatherface bust.
noted, I think thats already on the list
@@StiltbeastStudios awesome!!! Which version? My favorite it the 2003 remake.
@StiltbeastStudios would also love to learn how to make a human skin mask with simple things like latex and paper towels or something similar.
15:04 Pretty freakin cool Tyfs
Beach ball mine came out great
I hope you are making a ton of money with the haunt this year. Hopefully, I will be in better health next year.
haunting is a hard buisness- visitors have plummeted since the Rangers are in the world series. cheaper to stay home and watch the games. but its always fun no matter what!
@@StiltbeastStudios I'm sorry to hear that it's slow this year. I normally decorate my yard with props I make. This year I am just not able to. Last year I had over 300 trick or treaters so I loaded up with candy for this year. Now we're going from the 80s to freezing rain and temps in the upper 20s to low 30s for Tuesday night. I know you are going to have the same thing because we aren't far apart. Have a happy Halloween 🎃
Thankyou again❤❤❤🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
You are so welcome!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween!
Can you imagine seeing this looking at you through your window?
A nightmare come true!
In my bowls I use industrial graphite dried lubricant by blaster
Wonderful as always. I am wondering if made on outside of bowl?
yeah would just be a bit bigger but fun!
Happy Halloween🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Happy Halloween!
Could it also be possible to use some kind of balloon for the support of the foam instead of bowls?
Like those balloons you blow up and punch.
its possible, I just dont like chasing balloons around lol
A foam zombie chicken would be pretty funny
you are no longer allowed to have ideas
@@StiltbeastStudios the chicken descended from the King of the Tyrant Lizards, so a Zombie version would be funny. Revenge for being turned into yummy dino nuggets.......
I see an evil snow man in the future
This is awsome, thank you so some much for all the work you do. I have a general question allen , i have a michael myers mask that i stored over a year ago , i stuffed it with plastic bags and now the eyes are deformed and and it seems like the latex expanded in the eyes only , is there a way to fix it or is it a gonner ? Btw its a liquid latex mask , any iformation would be gladly apreciated.
I love binging all these videos. Does anyone remember what company or website he says that has good headforms?
nice
They look like macaroons when there put together. So…. If your no good a pumpkin u can make macaroons 😊
When do we get to learn the "Stilt Beast" suit? The basics of the terrifying lerger than life look?
thats pretty niche but maybe I can doa video on stilts again this winter.
I used your first spray foam video and locktite because of your other vids everybody wants me to make them one now just dont know how much too charge them I told how to make and gave the link to your account wish I could send pics
yeah go make stuff...and sell it!
❤❤❤❤❤ Love both,
Can you do this with a balloon instead of bowls for the shape? And have you ever used foam clay? Would love to see you sculpt the face with that over the spray foam (and see if it would even work!)
whay are people obsessed with balloons lol. you could, but chasing a sticky balloon is not fun or easy, it wants to roll as soon as any weight hits it- it Is going to make a teardrop shaped pumpkin as opposed to a pumpkin shaped pumpkin. with the bowls, I make both halves at the same time, with a balloon you can only make one half (more like a quarter) at a time as it has to rest on the bottom. just use the bowls lol.
@@StiltbeastStudios ooooooooooh good points. Yup, bowls it is lol
Hay Allen l am from Australia how can l show you some props l love to make, it's not real big here but l have plans l am in perth it would be great to come to Perth xx
Allan, if you wanted a smoother pumpkin, could you use the wet fabric method you used in the spray foam tutorial of yours from about 8 years ago? Not with 2 pieces or the beachball, but the last exterior piece wrapped around the pumpkin and twine or electrical tape to make the deep ridges?
I think its possible, but the locktite forms a pretty stout skin- I think timing would be the key as far as when to apply the fabric.
@@StiltbeastStudiosI will try it this week and share results with you. I agree that timing and babysitting will be key.
You should rename your Chanel into locktite-studios 🤣👍👏😂
this is most likely a phase, just fun to play with and explore
