Magnus Carlsen talks to Alejandro Ramirez after defeating Nepomniachtchi in the first round of the 2022 Sinquefield Cup. 2022.09.02 KasparovChess.com GrandChessTour.org
I agree. The interviewer asked great drill down questions to clarify exactly what Magnus was saying and take it from very high-level answers to specific tactical discussions.
Maybe Carlsen feels more open to talk about Chess now because he doesn't have to worry about people using what he says against him for the title. A much more relaxed and happy Magnus. :)
Absolutely, I love these kinds of interviews. I just HATE questions like "how did you feel when he blundered?" or "you are now in second place in the standings, what is your strategy going forward?". There is no way to answer these types of questions in an interesting way. Heck, I can answer them myself. "Good" and "play good chess". Edit: grammar
I really think Alejandro is one of the best interviewers for a chess post-match I have ever seen. Props to him for that. We want more Alejandro for sure.
