  • Some context: was going through my dad's old tape box and found one of the few studio tapes he owned. He used to do cleanup work at various studios as a side job and actually got hired to clean the very studio that was used to record SMiLE! The tape he took looks to have been originally titled "Heroes & Villains mix 1", but was crossed out in black marker and re-written as "Thumpin' Along". Who knew my dad had this long lost and forgotten piece of history!!

Little known fact: Thump and Faul McCartney were born a few days apart.

Think of what The Beach Boys could have achieved if they hadn’t f**ked with Thump’s formula.

Beach Boys SHOULD have released this with the SMiLE sessions but I would be overjoyed if they released it on this upcoming box set. perhaps remastered for stereo?

I set this at a pretty hefty price tag for Beach Boys & Co. to buy. I'm not just gonna hand them this precious piece of history. Nah, they gotta buy it from me.

This is great, it's like if a Rembrandt got pasted over with a large bristol board print of an obscure advice animal format from 2011.

I believe he was the actual writer and producer of Love You and Adult Child. But due to politics, and Thump being shunned by the family, he never got credit. But out of desperation for new material, they paid him to be Brian for a few years, while Brian was in bed. This was from 1976-1982. When the real Brian came back in 1982, Thump Wilson was killed off, which left Dennis in a state of depression. Because he was the only one who loved Thump. They had just been working on the Cocajne sessions together.

Oh, wow! This is absolutely stunning! I actually have an unreleased Thump Wilson music video that I should upload, they had him write for an episode of Duck Dodgers but for some reason used a Brian Wilson composition for the final cut instead. I will upload

lol I just dug it up on my hard drive, I'll post tomorrow. I've had it for years but didn't want to post until I saw others were also uploading Thump material (legal reasons).
It is absolutely not okay the way they treated this poor man, though there was a moment in the late 70s when he managed to escape Stan Love's "Love Dungeon" and briefly posed quite a serious threat to the safety of the general public and US national security but he voluntarily handed himself in so, what harm was done I ask you!?

@@SeahorsesJay Thump was more of a gentle giant than Brian could ever aspire to be. I remember reading a tabloid from around 1976 or 85 about him donating nearly all of his stamp collection to the nearest homeless shelter. What a guy..

@@MisterBiscuitsOfficial That is just such a beautiful story of Thump Wilson altruism, it genuinely brought a tear to my chap's eye. I know they considered him dangerous due to his proclivity for eating people, but he only ate bad ones. He was institutionalised in '68 after purportedly trying to unethically consume Charles Manson, realistically he was simply performing his civic duty 😑
