Here's a suggestion from me - I would love you guys to add the thing that shows keyboard buttons pressed in real time on screen/live stream.
So many times during the video I thought to myself "How convinient, I wonder which keyboard shortcut did Emily use for this trick?".
It would be very useful to learn that along the way. Keep up the great work you guys are my favourite yt channel, not just for design but overall! Love The Futur!

I've been a programmer for a while and never saw myself as an artist that could paint a picture but with typography, there is something about it that's drawing me in. I am expanding my mind and even opening up to become an artist myself. I have to say that your videos that you do are incredibly inspiring to me and I feel one with them.

Besides the feedback part, the most important thing I learn with occasion is: never be shallow, (doing a quick thing just to be done)- because you never know when what you wish for will happen. So, "do it, it's time" - It's for me - going forward with the"typography" course I bought, going forward with the work - and best is yet to come. Good lesson for me - thank you very much! The Futur is bright!

it is a poster for a documentary, it will show them like some kind of folders or paper search .
Hi Futur team, I really love these kind of episodes where all the Futur team share their opinion about someone's design. Please do more of this, since it's really helpful for us designers to increase our sense of design. I do suggest do an episode where you guys do a brochure critique instead of packaging and poster since The Futur hasn't done any episodes of brochure critique. Overall I really appreciate the effort you put in this video guys! Keep up the good work :)

54:15 Pacha kucha is an international event, similar to Ted talk but the alternative version and mainly hosts lecturers from different fields of art. I'm pretty sure that this typeface is their actual logo, that can't be changed.

Good design depends on design principles + elements + feeling + idea + experience if you are good in these things you can make professional designs, sometimes graphic designers becomes in the top because they have something extra which is the skills .

In case no-one has already mentioned this-
Tracking is the space between letters not just words (like kerning), but over a whole word, line or paragraph.
Kerning is the spacing between two letters. Word spacing is the space between words.
I think I mixed those two up in the heat of the moment.

How to convert/expand type into outlines in photoshop?
I'm thinking the clock design could've been executed better. Don't think it's a bad idea to use the letters to form a clock. Also, how is it the community saw the clock and none of the "critics" saw it???? Things that make you go "hmmm"

I love stretched type from a little bit starched to a lot! And also some type isnât meant to be read, thatâs the beauty of art! Some things arenât meant to be read and itâs okay to be different from your design to make it stand out against the others! I will always have stretched type (not in every design just if it needs it) also I love to use 2 or more fonts in my design so that itâs different and I think with some of the posters that are being shown and redesign I like the ideas I would love to design them a tad differently, I think design and the art is about trial and error and by watching this itâs giving me design ideas for my own work!!

Sure. If itâs meant for older people.

It's good to write something in the body because otherwise it seems the whole poster is done in a not too serious note, like half done job. There's a number of inspirational texts around the web by a number of excitingly inspiring people talking about doing things NOW. Just search it.

@futur I think the "It's" in the Do it layout is trying to make a play on Time.. As the designer intentionally wanted the type to represent a clock face..To me the design seems flat and needs to build on deminsion.

Love your podcast! I'm a working musician and I worked in broadcasting for a bit. The girl on the right looks like she is talking into something like an Audio Technica 3035. The diaphragm on that particular mic is on the side, so you don't really want to speak into the top of it..... just an FYI

Yeah the original poster with the 3 on it looked a lot better and was more balanced and easier to read than the redesigns IMO

what the shortcut for kerning in illustrator,?
saw emily so expert play with shortcut
option left or right arrow. option + shift + arrow makes it move in 10x increments.
Make sure the text is highlighted then use left or right arrows while holding option.

5:18 the original design is better. Iâd fix the indentation in the small text and lower the top text a little to have it fill that space more evenly. But overall itâs far more balanced and legible than the redesign.
