- The Voyager program is an ongoing American scientific program that employs two robotic interstellar probes, Voyager 1 and Voyager 2. They were launched in 1977 to take advantage of a favorable alignment of Jupiter and Saturn, to fly near them while collecting data for transmission back to Earth. After launch the decision was taken to additionally send Voyager 2 near Uranus and Neptune to collect data for transmission back to Earth.
As of 2021, the two Voyagers are still in operation past the outer boundary of the heliosphere in interstellar space. They both continue to collect and transmit useful data to Earth.
This video is to showcase both the song "Johnny B. Goode" by Chuck Berry (one of 27 songs included on the Golden Record onboard the Voyager space craft) and the PBS documentary "The Farthest" from which the footage was derived. I highly suggest you give the documentary a watch and support PBS as it's very interesting: • The Farthest - Voyager... - Věda a technologie
Humanity: extinct
Earth: swallowed
Sun: supernova
Voyager 1: Johhny B. Goode.
Humanity died. Earth doesn't exist anymore.
Voyager One:
I've seen that in a meme comp before...
The aliens aren’t ready for this yet…but their kids are gonna love it
From the USS Marvin Berry "YOU KNOW THAT SOUND YOU BEEN LOOKIN FOR?"
I can't think of a greater honour for Chuck Berry. When human kind is long gone Johnny B Goode will be the only testimony of our existence.
Still got Mozart and such. More like the testament of Rock music itself ⭐
“Send More Chuck Berry!” - Aliens, probably
The aliens aren't ready for this yet...but their kids are gonna love it
I come from Vulcano planet, i gonna to melt your brain!!!!!
Maybe the best set up and punch lines of all time. I wonder if it was all Bill Murray, or not.
Make that Steve Martin,(duh).
i wanna watch the actual skit nbc played on saturday live after the voyager launch when they showed a written reply from the aliens “send more chuck berry”
Imagine being an alien and hearing this as the credits roll on the Humanity Documentary only to see “Humanity will return” in the post credits scene.
U gave me an idea czcams.com/video/PuGGbGwKXyc/video.html
I Fucking love humanity
Bit of an overstatement but ok. 👍
HELL YEAH!! WE LOVE HUMANITY HERE
My Roman Empire is thinking for weeks on end about Voyager blasting chuck berry deep through space . We’ll meet again friend 🫡
Humanity:falls into a nuclear war whitch ends humanity
Meanwhile:voyager 1 2
Is this how Helldivers starts?
maybe
Voyager the real space cowboy.
Chuck! Chuck! It's Marvin! Your cousin Marvin, the Martian! You know that new sound you're looking for? Well, listen to this!
Imagine 3000 years after humanity perished, and it's still going.
Or 3 billion years
@@kimsoares3271funny thing is that it could last till the end of the universe
@@Havenotchanged_mypfpfor4years if it dosent get caught by any gravitational force
@@egonszutner9154Very unlikely because space is literally too spacious.
Damm i love humanity
Its quite wonderful we have progressed so much since 1977 too, when they launched Voyager 1 & 2.
If there ever is a movie made about the making of the Golden Record, I imagine the final scene playing out like this. "Johnny B. Goode" playing as Voyager 1 is launched into space, passing all the planets as it takes off into the dark vastness far beyond our solar system.
Keeps moving on as long as the universe exists, our species greatest achievement.
The greatest testament to humanity we could give.
Imagine a movie where we as a civilization don't know what music is, then this thing comes flying by earth and we hear this. Make it happen
I have been thinking of making a movie like this for years!!
Image the aliens have no idea what to think of anything on the golden disc but then they get to this and just love it
The greatest song we choosed for this eternal wanderer
Good ole Rock-N-Roll....great message to send out!
as a german i agree
Chuck Berry is truly eternal
Hell yeah
hell yeah
Hell yeah

Mf is gonna keep going...
the grind never stops
Literally. Space is empty and it doesn't ever loose speed. No decay no nothing dude is eternal
@@bradengoertzen4259 In fact, Voyager 1&2 are accelerating.
@@setesh1294 fuck yeah humanity forever
Fabulous. When I get depressed about the state of our human society, I'll watch this and know that Chuck is out there rocking away. Aliens will find this some day and be like WTF???
The aliens aren't ready for this yet...but their kids are gonna love it. Imagine if his cousin, Marvin Berry, hadn't called Chuck over the phone during that prom night...
2023 - April 4, NASA just recently discovered extraterrestrial morse code detected from Voyager 1 ... they sent a morse code we decoded and it said. " Sent more Chuck Berry" .
Wish we could do a Voyager round 2 and send 2 more probes out with updated info.
still playing johnny b. goode though of course
@@juliashokeir8065yeah not any of the shenanigans now😂
GO GO JOHNNY GOOOOOOO
"people comes from miles around, to hear you play that music when the sun go down".
In this case, yeah, except "lightyears" and "supernova".
something makes me feel kinda sad or uneasy about it, poor little voyager billions of miles away and never coming back... I know it's just a piece of metal but still
The li'll bro is going to be in space vibing when we go extinct XD

Beh mica male ! ❤ I love Chuck Berry music

And in a few billion years when the sun explodes there's still gonna be a dinner plate rocking through space
This song imo depicts the human spirit
We are just a simple creatures who I've in simple homes since our very beginnings. And despite our UNFORTUNATE need to survive in the reality we have created by working and doing all this that is needed to survive we still hold that dear in our hearts to just play a guitar and live life.
I thought of why didnt we add a meme to the voyager, despite having no internet, this in of itself, is the meme 😂😂😂
The aliens are gonna think we’re some kinda space cowboys or something
*millions of years later*
Sun:💥
Earth, mars, and the near planets:🔥
The far away planets:🗿
The Voyager 1:
Keep going, baby. Keep humming.
best thing i've seen all day
At least we sent them good music lol
I wonder if they could think, if they would love it. Ofc they do.
I wonder if there is more film material of carl dancing to johnny b. Goode.
This is a masterpiece.
Imagine what song would be on that record if Marvin Berry hadn’t called his cousin, Chuck, right then and there at that high school prom 😉
@@EchoTravelsUSA It would propably be a whole new timeline and we got elvis or smth on the golden record x3
@@meloney Fun fact: The man who produced the Golden Record wanted a Bob Dylan song on the record, so maybe that’s what would’ve happened had Chuck’s cousin not called at the prom…
This track played in the dentist's office while I was getting prepped for a root canal. With nothing else to do, I stopped to consider the very straightforward use of language in the song. Parts of speech, descriptions, what we are, what we do, have, say, and think about. It could be a useful introduction.
I actually had a interview with Frank locatell from the documentary. he was a really fascinating man.
Godspeed Space Cowboy o7
i like this
It's ironic that the record that carries messages of peace from mankind was recorded in a time of political and nuclear tension.
Has anything changed?
They should have put "Space Cowboy" by Steve Miller on that disc.
Really good job. This is a great video.
I forgot which Voyager probe is farther away
1 or 2?
voyager 1 is now 15,125,684,903 miley away from earth
@@meteaslan8124miley
@@meteaslan8124miley
Voyager 1 is farthest now. It was actually launched second, as its flight profile required more fuel use around Jupiter and Saturn. But it later overtook its twin, and is now 15,125,684,903 miles or 155 astronomical units from Earth.
@@jimbodeek how much is that in km?
