I’ve been using ALL your paints & I absolutely love all of them!! I’ve really been wanting to use this stain on the garage door. I’d like both the garage door & the front door to match. My front door is teak wood and really needs a redo. My question is… will this stain be fine to use on teak wood? Many thanks!!
I want to do this!!! I have a MCM stone ranch with cream-colored garage doors that look too “vanilla”. This would give a richness that would pop against the white stone.

It will last for a long time, the weather should not effect it whatsoever!

Does using the Terry cloth rags help create the wood texture because of the rough texture rather than a smooth rag?
It does help a bit, it's really the combination of the rag and the faux grain in the door. A little of both, for a beautiful result!

No TopCoat needed just try to use it when the weather is warm :)
Will it have the same color and outcome on a white garage door or do I have to paint it a neutral color before I gel stain?

Are u gel staining on top of your white paint? If so did you sand or anything? Or just clean and started painting.
We actually stained over the garage door's manufactured color. It was a light taupe color in the beginning!

It's better to go darker than lighter the sun will fade it right away either way

Is it really necessary to use deglosser before applying stain? I was thinking to just clean the garage door with my brand new pressure washer and then go straight to stain.
The deglosser cleans the surface of oil and dirt. It also is a etching agent that helps the product stick better :)

This was our Walnut Gel Stain! The garage doors were already painted before we did the gel stain.

Yes, you can use our color Tapestry or Oyster :) To get this same effect then use the again over it :)
Can you paint an aluminum siding house with this, to make the house look like wood siding?
Unfortunately Aluminum is one of the hardest material to have paint stick too :(

Better to paint the door a darker shade first . Try it over a white piece of cardboard to see if you like it first.
My garage door was already painted brown, can I apply this on top to give it the wood look?
My were painted brown as well and I used a gel stain over it. Looks great. I love what she did by adding the hardware! I’ll be doing that now to finish the look.
@@LoriC25223 I have faded weathered "dark" metal garage door. The videos show applying the gel stain on "lighter/whiter" base color. My question does it look like a wood grain texture if it has dark color for a base?
@@cathyjosnooks Mine turned out really nice. They were dark but fading as well, used a dark gel stain over them and it made them look fresh and new. And yes, they do have a wood grain look. Hope this helps 😊
Does it matter what color is under the walnut stain? My doors are white. Do I need a base coat of a particular color?
This is more of a taupe finish you could paint first then stain over it :)

It is a Solvent Based Stain so as long as it was prepped correctly it will last the same as a factory finish :)
