For sure, I also think the PF lenses open up longer telephotos to those who may find it hard to lift such heavy weights, certainly a great option for wildlife photographers from Nikon!
Would be good to get your thoughts on this lens on a Z body other than the Z9, as we all know the Z9 is an absolute leap in the mirrorless range from the Z6/Z7 stables. How does it perform on a Z6 for example? Do you really need a Z9 to get the best out of it?
Hello Tom, Thank you for your super video and thoughts on the 800mm PF from Nikon. What a lens it looks like a winner for Nikon at a very good price, that said it just out of my price range. But now I have a dream. Keep well, meep safe and enjoy your photography.
Great video I have mine on order through NPS and can't wait to get it do you know if the tripod replacement foot for the old 800/600/500/400 f mounts lenses will work the new 800 pf?? I really enjoy your work and your are an outstanding photographer
I didn't really expect it from you guys (as Nikon Ambassador), but rather than gushing positives, it would have been nice to have heard a balanced review that would include the obvious limitations (no perfect camera or lens).
Scoring brownie points with Nikon is way more important to keep the freebies incoming.. that actually ever give and do an honest review .. And all those who have reviewed the lense .. none has ever complained about the price ..
Nikon takes the Wildlife photographers' needs serious: The z-mount 100-400, 400 & 800 together with the 500PF are covering all the long lens needs you can think of. Canon: Are you listening? The 100-500 is the only RF-lens which can match with the Nikon lineup.
how much you like the Bokeh. and is it going to be good for Motorsports photography. how price and quantity wise it attracts and bring some of pro into Z system.
Why is it when there is new Camera gear ... all of you gear reviewers auto assume .. it's only deemed for Wildlife ... all you lot is push the same subject matter .. JFC ... You do realise there is Togs outhere that soley don't concentrate on Wildlife .. ffs Can the lense capture better detail of High flying Jet's at 35,000ft plus ,, Or that of Ships sailing by far offshore .... can it capture better detail of the Moon's surface .. It's what I would like to know ...

Portability with quality is the key here, Nikon needs to have more such lenses.

Nice lens for birders during the day. But has this lens being used at night-time and low light to test its focusing capabilities.
@@NikCan66 yes if you check out my last video we used it right into the evening, making images as the moon had come out!
Nikon also need Z mount version of F mount 200-500 f5.6 very affordable lens for hobbyist

It’s really a bit big for motorsport. The 600mm focal length is really the max you need but it’ll come in good a few times I guess.

As a professional wildlife photographer and not just a reviewer it’s kind of the area of expertise I work in!
Then you need to seek out photographers who’s area of expertise is aviation photography. Why follow wildlife photographers?
