It’s because it’s brutal , I’ve driven all of I-10 except Phoenix to LA, and driving it even sucks - it’s an epic ride and it’s to raise money for a good cause. Also he does a good job at just sharing enough of the ride it keeps your curiosity going.

Nearest international Airport is in Lubbuck. Next closest is in El Paso, TX where I live. If you all can make it to Midland/Odess, I can drive him there to meet you up. It's only four hours from El Paso. Let me know.

I love the "only" four hours. To us Brits four hours is halfway up the country, or easily one side to the other at the widest point 🤣🤣

I was thinking about the crack on Justins handcycle, It could be from Francis tow rope constantly pulling Justin and justin's bike. The carbon part of the bike could be strained from the frame being pulled up hill on climbs or just in general from being towed such a long ways

Francis is ready-back in 2018 he (w/ James & Lawrence) rode from San Diego to Portland, but they went out of their way to swing through Death Valley ... in the summer. And Justin will be fine, because he's a badass.

same on all accounts. I was really concerned that the cracks would spread quickly and I was quite concerned that they'd have a catastrophic failure 50 miles from nowhere. It's really great that Carbon Bike Repair are coming to fix it - I have to say that _reason_ they are coming out - that they genuinely respect what the lads are doing and really want them to succeed - really lifted my spirits!

The run from Llano to Brady had the duo through Pontotoc Texas.Ponotoc is birthplace of General Ira Eaker who ran the 8th Air Force that flew out of the U.K. In WW2.
The two crossed briefly through the corner of San Saba county whose celebrity citizen is Tommy Lee Jones.
Turning west from Brady, they rode through Eden, birthplace of General Earl Rudder. Rudder led the Ranger assault on Point du Hoc during the Normandy invasion.
San Angelo’s Fort Concho was the Calvary HQ during the Texas Comanche Wars.
Justin just thinks he is in the middle of nowhere, wait till he’s in deep West Texas. Cheers

Y'all are passing just a little too far south of me for me to chase you down. You're going to have quite the terrain / atmosphere change as you transition from the Texas Hil Country to West Texas / the Desert. Very impressive work. Probably a little late to make a suggestion, but San Angelo (it looks like you're headed that way) will have a decent regional airport as will Midland / Odessa.
Both of you and the people that make every effort to help us truly amazing. Enjoy your day of rest.

As someone who has made the ride across the United States through the South, I don't know whether tubeless will be okay but I highly, highly, highly recommend Thorn tubes as you continue West. There are plants that will simply shred your tires without the added thickness. You should definitely look into it. Cheers.
As long as the holes are big enough the tubeless works quite well, rubbish for the little filings from truck tyres though!
@@Cade_Media okay but Justin is not running tubeless and when you start getting into New Mexico and Arizona, don't say I didn't warn you. Also, you're going to enjoy the Rockies. The roads are beautiful but so are the climbs and descents. Enjoy.

Inspirational what you both are doing / achieving. Enjoy the rest of the trip and carbon fixing person you are a legend.
You really need to hook up with T-Cycle (Portland, OR) - they will refurbish your whole trike; it will be 40% faster and you can beat the sin out of it all the while. Oh, it will also be *more* ergonomic and comfortable not just in riding but in utility/cargo use/hauling.
After that, Enviolo has a CVT IGH that will automatically manage your gear reduction via constant torque settings - that means you can set a max torque you can sustain and it will automatically adjust the transmission based on riding conditions to keep you at that torque while maximizing your speed.
Then, your chain losses also cause you extra fatigue and wreck the efficiency of the work you are doing - so upgrade to a belt drive! You'll never break, it cranks easier, is indestructible to sand and debris, and they don't impact its performance unlike a chain grinding in silt if you get too close to a river or lake.
I understand the spiritual and entertainment value of suffering for your cause, but come on guys this is getting ridiculous - I understand that these videos are made WAYYYY before we see them, but the information is not invalid because of that; I am only sad because there are plenty of other things to waste the saved energy on that are also fun, entertaining, and humanizing.

Llano to Brady..."absolutely nothing in between". Well if that isn't the understatement. Just wait until you cross into West Texas. Depending on your situation, if you can make it to San Angelo, there's a couple bike shops and I believe a connection flight from DFW International airport can get your contacts there. But you should probably weigh your options because any west beyond that and things get really remote. With the exception of a couple cities (San Angelo, Odessa, Lubbock up north), its like 5 people and 4000 cows until you get to New Mexico. If you really run into trouble, Big Spring is along the bus route (though its like 1 a day or couple days). But do be careful because out here, it can be hours before medical help can reach you.
