COVID-19 Protected Intubation Educational Video

During this pandemic, the priority is to keep health care workers safe. COVID-19 patients can have a fast respiratory deterioration and need urgent support.
Intubation is high risk, aerosolizing procedure where the virus can transmit to the people in close proximity. An early and planned intubation that can reduce the risk of transmission is recommended if possible.
In this video, we simulated an urgent intubation of a suspected COVID-19 infected patient, where enhanced airborne precautions were followed to enhance safety. Our goal is to teach care providers how to safely care for COVID-19 patients during a respiratory deterioration.
