Every single one of us watching you knows exactly how it ends so it's priceless seeing your reaction.
Amen! LOL She kills it.
I remember my same type of reaction (and my wife as well) the first time we heard it when it came out !
Lol yep 🤣
It's so much fun watching these reaction videos. I'm 61
😂 😂 😂
The fact that we generally don't immediately realise what is going on with this song is a testament to it's great musicality and groove. That's what hits you first. Great song.
I’d love to watch Rupert’s reaction to her reaction! Lol
Boy....India was going to go after this guy's butt. It was fun to watch how you got so leary when we already knew the end of the song. lol Thanks, India for the laughs. Take care and be well. Peace.
Hahah loved her reaction
I was waiting for it..lol
Yes, haha, cute song
Totally. I was waiting for it.
It’s also called the woman can cheat too song.
I love, love, love when people hear old music for the 1st time
It's the best!
It really makes me smile because I want them to like it
Exactly! Me too. I know that the songs are great, and I love when they see that also. I love all kinds of music, especially from the 70s & 80s.
Especially this one with a good twist to it ! Hilarious!!
@@lynnspeelman5645 Yes!
He damn sure did cheat, but so did she. In a twisted turn of fate the cheated on each other with each other.
Yup. They totally deserve each other.
That depends. Did she leave the paper on the bed open to the personal adds for him to find? It's a parody of 70's love ballads with the guy being dumb instead of the stereotypical stud from the 70's.
True . The first thing they do is laugh about the situation where as in real life they would be asking each other why they had placed an add and answered it and they were both looking outside the relationship for some fun . It's a great song though .
What a clever, entertaining, brilliant song.
A song that makes you realize how important it is to communicate and keep things fresh in your relationship.
I loved this song growing up. Listening to it a few years ago I thought, "These two are assholes." Great reaction.
Right??? I used to like this song, then I listened to the words one day, on the other side of a divorce because of a partner that couldn't stay faithful, and thought, "Okay, well what happens after the fun of that night? Even though they're married, I'd always wonder "what if..." after that wore off."
If he'd respond to a personal ad in the paper....who else?
Same but now I hate it cuz of that lol
@Gina Balk it's a future murder trial testimony, for either of them.
@Gina Balk Yeah, but they decided to cheat rather than talking it out.
It's amazing how hearing it with adult ears makes it a song about horrible people.
No they were looking for more excitement. They learned something new about each other and in that their relationship becomes more exciting and they realize how much they still have in common.
Or, they eventually realized that they were both trying to cheat on the other, and could no longer trust each other.
I was a kid ( 12) when this came out . remember telling my dad their both cheaters. He answered I'd be more understanding after I've been married for awhile . i was shocked.
@@DavidB-2268 Or they realized that they should have talked with each other a bit more and been more open with their expectations of each other and none of it would have happened.
@@ohauss or, this being the seventies, they started swinging by joining neighbourhood "key parties".
Ricky Coleman yeah I was offended by this song when I was a kid. I’m a married adult now, still think it’s a lame song.
I LOVE it when you get that SHE was the one that was trying to cheat on him first!!!....Your face was like "WHA......????"
When a man cheats ... he’s a pig, he’s selfish, he’s irresponsible.
When his women cheats... well, she was looking for some excitement to spice it up. She wasn’t happy.
This song tore up the radio when I was a kid, it was 24/7! Brings back memories.
We couldn't escape it! No pun intended. I only realized it after I typed it, but that song was everywhere.
Constantly! I remember thinking he was dumb because he was going to get rain in his drink.
I don’t remember this in Guardians of the Galaxy. Kind of sounds like the first song they play but it’s not that one. Haven’t heard this in forever! Thanks for playing it.
She made the first move toward cheating having no idea he would read the ad.
And we are all assuming this is the first time she published such an ad....
It makes you wonder if she put out that ad knowing he and she needed to shake things up. And, she knew he read the personal columns and knew he would respond to her ad. This story does have a fun twist.
I know this song WAY too well. If you recall the line "and she said, 'Ah, it's you.'" She was not expecting to be meeting him!
They were both ready to cheat so instead of feeling bad for either of them, it makes the situation comical. Especially since it rekindled their romance.
They both thought they were looking for someone else but really they were just looking for each other. Love this song.
This song is priceless and timeless.
its the best song ever
Dear Ms. India, at this time in history, "that newspaper personal ad" was the beginning of the whole 'swinging' thing, that bubbled up in the '80's, and carried forward to Compuserve, AOL, and whichever 'app; of the moment.
YEAH I LOVED THE ELEMENT OF SURPRISE ON YOUR FACE. I always loved this song since it first came out the irony of his desire to leave his woman.
Goes to show that full communication is the key in any relationship. They both desired the same things life has to offer, yet neither one realized it. Also, love your reaction to this song, India. Too cute!
"If I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own backyard, because if it isn't there, I never really lost it to begin with."
Dorthy: The Wizard of Oz
That's a relationship that needed communication. Loved your reaction it was epic.
You're reaction was precious when the twist was revealed.
The song really shows the importance of communication in a relationship
This song proves that you need to have communication in a relationship. If they had talked, neither would have cheated, I feel.
See, communication is the most important part of a relationship.
i have always loved this and saw it different from a lot of others. Yes. They were both looking to cheat on each other, because they blame their boring life on each each other. Very wrong to cheat on each other and break your promises, but very common to blame each other for the stresses and boredom of real life. The lesson here is that the couple did not really have a problem with each other. Their problem was with their life in general. This proved that they are actually perfect for each other, but they didn't know it. I see that in so many couples. They are perfect for each other, but they let their life and all its pressures and distractions, get in the way of their relationship with each other. This song is a surprise to everyone when they first hear it.
5:47-I was waiting for this part of the song to see India's reaction. Boy, she did not disappoint!
It’s all about communication, they never knew that each liked those things.. make sure you ask and more importantly, listen. ,, then go have those Pina Colada’s!
Cheating connection before the web 😂. 🎶🎧 but this one has a happy ending that stayed in the marriage
At least until the end of the song. It's like in the fairy tales, what happens AFTER "happily ever after"?
Your reaction was priceless on this song.. I could not wait to see the look on your face when you heard it was his Lady he was meeting.. Just goes to show that you need much more in common than Love to keep a marriage going strong... I was lucky that my Hubby and I pretty much liked doing the same things..
One thing about this that gets a little lost in translation: personal ads were much more stigmatized than dating apps. They were being bad, bad kids.
On a mostly unrelated note, they totally got into swinging after this :-)
Personal ads were the Craig's List.
Knowing how this ends up, your reactions are priceless and hilarious! The reality is that married couples can get stuck in a rut, their priorities change and they stop communicating but there's a lesson to be learned from this in the song!
This is very interesting , also, because there was no music video to this song back then(before MTV) so the song does a great job of describing the situation , and I almost wished they would have made a movie about it( I don’t think they did ). Those personal ads were very popular in the 70’s to the 80’s until the 1-800 era and then the internet, and then personal apps. Fun fact: Rupert Holmes wrote the hit “ You Got It All “ for The Jets which was a big hit in 1986(she did a video on it).
Love seeing you discover the beautiful twist ending for the first time! Fantastic reaction! They just don't write em like that anymore
Your face when you realized!😂😂💖💖💖🔥
India....that reaction is what makes this song timeless. First is disgust for the cheating man and then boom.....the truth comes out. Then you smile because it really is ingenious!!
This is one of the greatest songs! The realities of taking a long relationship for granted, it gets too 'everyday' - until you realize why you fell with each other - and you fall in love all over again. Having adult children, we saw this... We were always in love - then became Mom and Dad - both of us coming second to each other - the kids come first. Then they grow up and leave and you forget the person you fell in love with. It's great to fall in a new, different love again! We did! It's a great lesson to learn!
Your reaction kills me when you realized at the end this song was everywhere you can’t escape it back in the day Pun intended
9 years earlier, Rupert Holmes wrote the very strange hit song "Timothy" while in the band 'The Buoys'. The song told story of a mining disaster where 3 men were trapped by a cave-in, but only 2 were recovered. Suffice it to say, its probably the only top 40 song about cannibalism.
I could not wait for you to get to the end of his story! You thought you had it all figured out - your reaction to the outcome was so cute! 😄💖💖💖
I love this song and love how it ends.Noone expects it to be his wife 😊
India, one of your best reactions yet!! 👍
Your reaction is the greatest I’ve ever seen. I literally waited eagerly to see the shock on your face. You didn’t disappoint.
I remember when this song came out. Glad this is the first time you are listening; your reaction is precious.
This song was popular when I was pregnant with my first child. It ALWAYS takes me back to that time, cause it happened to be on the radio the day I found out I was pregnant. It's a great study in the psychology of a relationship. We take each other for granted, almost right from the get-go. Just talking more often, and opening up to each other in honesty would probably have prevented any letter writing to the paper. GREAT song! I've ALWAYS loved it! And your reaction was PRICELESS! You're the greatest!
She is so wholesome it just makes me happy to watch
Your reactions are so adorable! Lol. As an old fart, it amazes me that so many classic hits are not known
Is there a greater declaration of love than "Oh, it's you" 😂
OMG! you literally had me laughing so hard I was crying. We all knew what was coming, but your reaction was worth the wait. Love your reactions.
The downside of growing up...you realize the logistics of this song are impossible. Reading an ad at night and responding by setting a date for the following day. We only had snail mail back then.
I have never rewatched a reaction as many times as I did this one. Your reaction to the twist is memorable...
Your expression was PRICELESS. Hey they found out that they liked other things that they did not know about each other.
This song is a classic. This is one of my favorite reactions of yours India
I remember being a kid and hearing this song on the radio...all summer long 1982....
Your reaction was PRICELESS! You cracked me up! I think this was my favorite reaction video! Its one of my favorites songs. Its a sing-a-long for sure!
Through The FIRE.... Chaka Khan...you will LOVE it.
This has to be one of my favorite reactions:) Enjoyed. This song will NEVER get old
I could watch her reaction 100 times, PRICELESS!
Thank you for having a normal human reaction to this. Seen so many reactors who are so goddamn busy trying to be "on" for the camera and so desperate to justify their narcissism by "dissecting" the lyrics they don't let themselves enjoy the humorous story and the message the song is trying to convey.
So so true
Not too much story telling like this nowadays huh? Loving this from NZ ! really liked this reaction !
What so great about these reactions for me is seeing your reaction when certain scenes in the song come up. I know what is coming and you have know clue. That is the best! Your expression on your face is priceless! Unfortunately this couple is not communicating to each other what the other one wants or needs. Love it!!😉
I saw this was the song you were reacting to and couldn't wait to see it. You didn't disappoint! Fantastic!!
Just remember, he found her ad, so she planned to stray first. 🤣 But they both discovered the same thing Dorothy did when she left OZ to go back to Kansas - no matter what you are looking for, chances are it's been right in your own backyard the whole time.
I love your reaction show! Your emotions, energy and the way you react is so cute! You are fun!!!! Best reaction when you found out it was her!!!! Love your face. You are such a light!!!
Jimmy Buffet “Margaritaville”, (sp) please! Def a beach , drinking song! ❤️💛☮️💟✌️. Yeah, I got the beach on my mind...
Another great, honest and off-the-cuff reaction to this iconic song. You are a sweet person. Love your channel. Keep up the good work.

Una de mis favoritas❤👌
Tge best reaction i ever seen. You should have your mainstreem tv show. Your a natural. God bless you. You made my day x
I love your reaction to this!! Priceless 👍👍😅😄😃😀
Great reaction India👏 your reaction made my day!! Love your channel and your positive spirit and it is so fun to watch someone who is a real music lover and smile when I see how much you also love music and how it affects you! Super cool!!
I was waiting for it as the song was going along. The look on your face was priceless when it got to the end.
I always loved this song.. I remember when I first heard it 🤯 🤣🤣🤣🤣 couldn’t wait to see your face when you hear the last verse... and you didn’t disappoint.
Your reaction when you realized the ad was from his own lady/it was her walking in! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Loved the reaction! ❤️✌🏻✌🏻❤️
The guy in the song is reading the classifieds. See, back in the days before the internet, if you wanted to reach out to people with a similar interest, you had two options: go to places where those people gather, or take out a classified ad. The classifieds were like a big bulletin board where people put up notices in the newspaper. You could find jobs, old furniture, people looking to find Mr./Ms. Right, missing persons, start a group with a particular interest, or just tell the world something. Think of it as an early version of Craigslist or Facebook.
This song is a cautionary tale about complacency. This is a fun song and everyone loved it because it was so catchy. It's a shame that this generation would probably get pissed when he showed up and not learn from it and throw away a relationship. I'd like to think both of them opened their eyes and never took each other for granted again. Relationships demand communication. LOL
I love your reactions...and those faces! I call it very charming.
This song always brings a smile to my face and seeing people's reactions to hearing it makes me chuckle. Well done!
Hands down one of my favorite reactions of yours! :D
Your reaction is priceless! Love your channel!
Love your reaction to this!! Sweet!!
Girl, I just LOVE your facial expressions LOL
He said he wrote this after reading a personal ad and thinking what if it was his wife and she's tired of him. 😂
For another Rupert Holmes song that is totally different...no boredom with relationship, being into each other listen to "we are the last of the romantics"
Great channel! Love your facial expressions.
I couldn't wait for you to get to the twist. Love you girl!!!✌
LOL........almost a year after you postet this...I`m watching it ! Soooooo funy !!! :)
still have this on vinyl 45...as you wisely said , don't let your relationships get boring
I was but a young lad when this song came out, but I was unaware of it, until years later, when I was watching a VH1 feature on 1-hit wonders.
couldn't wait to see it!! GREAT REACTION 😂
Your reaction was priceless...I was waiting to see hw you would take the twist in y=the song. Keep safe..love from canada
Ahh the 70s. What a great time to be alive. Kinda wish I was older than 12 when they ended😒
hahaha.. The look on your face was priceless.
The way he says "it's my own lovely lady"and she just says "aw it's you". Damn.
That was hilarious to see you react! Thank you....
Numerically we were entering the 80’s, but apparently not everyone was finished with the 70’s yet. That’s the only way this song makes sense to me.
Love this song. Your reaction is awesome. Lol.
It’s a fun twisted song if you think about it.
I enjoyed watching you go down this road. Lol. You were right it can be taken as role play. :)
India, I was waiting for the hook lol. Love the emotional rollercoaster this song took you on!!
