I appreciate that they used the mythologically accurate interpretation of mjolnir; it isn't enchanted to only be liftable by thor, it's just literally so heavy that it has impossible momentum. Kratos goes flying hundreds of miles every time thor wallops him with mjolnir because he's hitting him with a hammer that weighs as much as a mountain.
If it really would only be heavy how did Odin or the Daughter of Thor pick it up but not Kratos at the very least the Daughter shouldnt have the same raw Streght as him

I LOVE the fact that the area where they fight is permanently scarred like a real mythical battle shaping the landscape, with the lighting permanently frozen in place throughout the whole game, visible from anywhere in Midgard Fucking BEAUTIFUL game design
It's ironic because we never get to see the "real" Thor either. By the time he encounters Kratos, he's sobered up and is apparently "less fun" according to Odin. I imagine he was also much more reckless like Kratos.
I really don't like this idea that Thor would get smashed by Zeus, and that no one can be equal to Kratos because he's too angry to die or whatever. The whole point of this battle is that they're equally matched, or even that Thor is _stronger._ Even with both of them "lesser" to what they were before, Thor smashes Kratos's face in.

Something that watching this tens of times has shown me is that GOWR is really good at making things flying look real. Like these falls/flies look like if someone actually flew thousands of feet through the air because of a hammer weighing more than a mountain

Zeus was saved by Rhea’s eagle as a baby prior being flown to Gaia. Zeus takes the form of a mighty eagle in GoW2. Kratos dies atop Mt. Olympus to atone for his rampage bleeding on a stone carving of a phoenix. Kratos’ family sure has a running theme with birds.
I actually like this format more. not just putting the music on top of their gameplay which pretty much anyone who owns the game and a video editing software can do. awesome job, hope to see more of this.

I see people saying "Oh, 1:50 is the best part" well let me refute that, while I can't deny that the sync is sick I'm afraid it lacks any deeper meaning than that. I would like to talk about 1:17 in which Kratos gets knocked out, you see, when Kratos gets knocked out the music actually stops, which means that Thor's boss theme is actually "Free bird" and therefore when he gets resucitaded he listens the music once again. This also a great parallel to the movie in which "Free bird" is featured, called "Kingsman: The secret service" specifically in the church scene where the song is used as an incentive for people to go batshit crazy and go on a killing spree, in that scene, one of the main protagonists Arthur Gallahad is manipulated by the song (I know it's a phone app) to kill the people in the church but what actually happens is that when he gets knocked down by a little hand grenade-like device his ears start ringing and he stops from listening to the song for a few moments before the ringing goes away and he listen to it again which in turn causes him to go on with his killing spree. So not only is "Free Bird" Thor's actual boss fight theme but there is also a callback to the movie the song is featured in. Truly a masterpiece.
