Just bought a used HD backrest/luggage rack and installed on my “07 Nightrain. Your video saved me a trip to the mechanic for turn signal relocation. Once the brackets were cut, the rest was a piece of cake. Even worked with my current saddlebags attached with Easy Brackets. I just need an additional 7/8’s in. Spacer on the front bracket to accommodate for the width of the detachable latch in the back. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing, I bought the very same sissy bar for my 2012 Fatboy Lo I have already purchased all the parts for the install including that darn turn signal relocation kit which will obviously make this a messy job. I stopped by a HD dealership for my parts and managed to get to a mechanic and he said to install the relocation kit the easiest way is to remove the entire rear fender, something I really do not want to do plus it requires an extra set of hands to do this job without incident, I happen to own that sort same drimmel kit so I’m in business, however I’m hoping to get just enough clearance as to not scratch the turn signal fixtures. The only thing I should need at this point is some touch up gloss black for the drimmel work, thanks!
I have a 2017 low rider s that was going to install this on which looking at this saves me a lot of money. I have not started to take it apart yet and was wondering what you did with the turn signal wires?
Ok so cutting the tabs might be ok for a painted bracket, but I wouldn't do that on chrome bracket,, if you do your gonna have Rust everywhere not to mention the heat from the cutting is going to likely delaminate and blue the surrounding chrome at the cut points...
I just got a 2020 softail standard and can’t find any sissy bars that say they’ll fit, even asked at the dealership that sold me the bike and they couldn’t find one

In the 60s that was called a 'leaner' bar. You have to have a rigid frame for a sissy bar. A sissy bar bolts onto the frame near the axle
