      @David 1216 Not a modern-day running shoe, but Onitsuka Tigers Mexico 66. Allbirds Tree Runners also come to mind. And how can I forget all the New Balance 900 series shoes, which has become more of a lifestyle shoe with the Dad shoe craze in recent years. Some of my coworkers rock them.

      I have 3 pair. I do not actually use them to train in, at all. But funny enough, like other commenters have said, I use them for business casual plus they are they ultimate travel shoe. I fly a ton for work and play and I wear them for my travel days. I've actually gotten in extra miles in the airport during layovers with the track smith running day pack on my back. Weird in the airport, I know. But Strava has an epic route in the Denver airport that people like to run. I would say that I wouldn't compare them to the Saucony endorphin speed. the Endorphin is way stiffer than the Elliott. I would never buy the Endorphin. Too stiff for me.

  • @ChristianRunsNY
    @ChristianRunsNY Před rokem +18

    It's been my favorite travel shoe. Great for shorter runs on the road, and they look really nice so you can pack light. Even a guy at a car dealer asked me about them because he wanted a pair based on looks. I don't think you will ever get the money's worth on performance, but it is built well and I see the money aesthetically and quality wise.

    I have over 100 miles in these, plus lots of walking, it is supremely comfortable - it feels like a Boston 9 updated with PEBA with a classic look, you feel the ground but not in a harsh way - love the video

  • @JM-nu2jg
    @JM-nu2jg Před rokem +24

    As someone who owns the pair I can say that it looks very pretty, but its performance does not match the pricepoint. Even though it's PEBA, it feels very similar to how the Mach lineup of Hoka, performs, which has an EVA midsole due to how firm and not bouncy the midsole is.
    I've been using mine exclusively as a walking and casual shoe now. I would not recommend it if you plan on getting it for running

      @@ben7286 For my case, yes. My wardrobe comprises of streetwear(ish) pieces like Airforce 1s, Yeezys, etc. so comparing the comfort during walks of the tracksmith to those shoes, it definitely is more comfortable.
      But if you will compare it to other running shoes that you can use for walking like the more v4 of new balance, it would again fall flat because of the very expensive pricepoint

    You’re definitely paying for the brand with this one, but for someone that wants a luxurious looking shoe, I think it’s a great option. While many running shoes are becoming more advanced(and expensive) in terms of technology, they haven’t been all aesthetically pleasing. Of course, athletes know that performance wear is typically not meant to be worn outside of sport, but I think it would be nice for brands to just consider not throwing neon on almost everything. The plastic like uppers don’t really help either, ie adidas adios 7. Overall, there are those that strictly look for tech, and those that prefer a feel good/play good option.

    Good review. I only wear Tracksmith running apparel, but I haven't been tempted to buy this shoe. Currently wearing Hoka Mach 4 as a daily trainer, Hoka Rincon for tempo runs, Hoka Torrant for trail runs and Hoka Carbon X for races. I wear the Nike Peg 40's as an alternate road shoe and the Nike Peg Trail 4 for the trails. I'm trying to stick to the shoes I have until the mileage gets up to 300 miles or the shoe is shredded. Doesn't keep me from watching shoe reviews though, ha ha.

    UNPOPULAR OPINION: As ,much as I want to like Tracksmith, it feels more and more as a poser brand. Looks great but does not deliver for the ridiculous sticker shock. One can find better performing items (not just in shoes) for a more reasonable price tag. In addition, Tracksmith feels more exclusive in the worst way possible in a sport which seems to constantly want to strive towards inclusivity of all athletic abilities, racial backgrounds, and socio-economic levels.This makes me very sad as I expect more from Tracksmith but it's not fully delivering it for me.

    This is my biggest problem with the endurance sports industry: with the rise of social media, running and industry made it acceptable and normal to have elitism in the sport. If you don’t have the right gear or you look less fashionable in the sport you’re in, are you really a runner or a cyclist? Deny it all you want but I’ve experience this when it was laundry day so I’m not dressed appropriately for the sport I’m in. When you don’t look the part, runners avoid waving and eye contact as if you’re a newbie or an alien.

Imo this just has no appeal whatsoever. I feel like I wanna play golf while running to each hole with them on. I say all this to say that if you like them and they work for you..good on you.
