    I never realized that the original Rocket Jets was actually the observitron, that means there are literally 2 abandoned rides sitting on top of each other in Tomorrowland.

    Disney really doesnt like Disneyland's Tomorrowland, between them closing rides and relocating rids to bad locations, next they're probably going to close the entire land

      It wouldn’t surprise me, Space Mountain is the only thing keeping that land alive.

      @@FM7Studios thats true, considering the Matterhorn is also in fantasyland and not too many people are interested in autotopia anymore

    Designing a ride without checking that its support base is strong enough is a colossal blunder. Considering the concrete cracks caused by Rocket Rods, it sounds as if Disney really rushed the plans for 90s Tomorrowland. It's in a bad spot, but I bet more ride it now since it's not so high up.

    This channel is so underrated! I think getting rid of the people mover was even dumber!

    I never really understood what the observatron was, always thought it was just a random cluster of satellites... I had no idea it was the Rocket Jets ride but just reskinned basically, I will now look at it with a new light now knowing that the observatron is just the abandoned Rocket Jets structure

    I agree about the astro orbitor not being on top of the peoplemover loading area, losing its charm, but hell, it looks cool at night, at least like the rest of tomorrowland

    Disneyland needs to suck it up and replace both the PeopleMover and AstroJets. Rebuild the podium and track, forget the excuses, just do it. The PeopleMover can be re- imagined so that it is safe. It also had high capacity, which is needed. Once this is done, the entryway to Tomorrowland can be cleaned up.

    Tomorrowland desperately needs another renovation. Might I suggest going full on retro futurism and renaming the land Discoveryland? I’m not the first person to mention this, but the problem with Tomorrowland is that it has to be updated far too often to keep it relevant.
    Also, I love your content and how you just go straight to the point with your subject matter. It takes you 5 minutes to tell the whole story of a ride or attraction, while certain other CZcams channels would focus too much on extending that time

    • @FM7Studios
      @FM7Studios  Před 4 měsíci +2

    Astro Orbitor was originally gonna be placed on the PeopleMover loading platform where the Rocket Jets are, but it was too heavy so it was instead moved to the entrance of Tomorrowland

  • @justimagine2403

    Didn't know that hunk of Satellite dishes used to spin. They should just tear it down and put in a spiral ramp and an even more fantastical Orbitron put in... reinforced for the heavy load. They have built a few newer parks since this was installed... so go build a newer one elsewhere.

    My first time at Disneyland was in 1999 and I rode the Rocket Rods.
    It was an awful, BORING ride!
    I actually really like the design of the AstroOrbitor much better than the extremely dated AstroJets look. I do wish they would reinforce the building enough to put the AstroOrbitor back up there.
    I don’t think the PeopleMover will ever return to Disneyland, sadly. I wish it would!

    I actually kinda like the Astro Orbitor in the front. I would like to see it repainted to white and red. Same with the Observotron. I think it would be cool to get the arms moving and have it be red and white. That's just me

    Why was Disneyland’s new Tomorrowland of 1998 one ☝️ of Disney’s biggest failures?

    • @FM7Studios
      @FM7Studios  Před 4 měsíci +2

      It saw the removal of many Iconic Tomorrowland features including but not limited to the Space Mountain Speed ramps, Rocket Rods which ended up being abandoned just a few years later, the Rocket Jets being removed, and new unpopular paint jobs.

      @FM7Studios  Před 3 měsíci +3

      They built a new ride in a new location, it’s not the same ride. The one on top of the Peoplemover was stripped down to its mechanical structure, they placed satellite dishes in place of the rockets. Today the structure is no longer operational and has been largely neglected. :)
