I have I have a 99 Dodge 1 ton and I was draining the fluid out of the line and the brake pedal went all the way down and will not come back up
What are signs this needa replaced. I bought a 3500 and put new brakes on it and the brakes keep locking. The old brakes were really worn out. Im not sure if it could be the abs module or where to start. Thanks for the video as well
Most of the time it is a leaking problem for the hydraulic brake booster. If your brakes keep locking up it is the master or wheel cylinder. You need to check and see if all or both front or both rear is locking up it is the master brake cylinder. If you just have one wheel it is that wheel brake cylinder. When the brake cylinders go bad they won't release.
Iv replced many 2nd gen boosters and have never had to change the brake light switch
Geez what a rats nest still a good vid tho
I lost power steering and power brakes. Replaced the power steering pump with no improvement. I thought the new pump was bad, replaced it again. No change. Replaced the hydro boost and now I have no brakes, pedal goes to the floor. Bleed with the turning of the wheel no improvement. Any ideas?
All 4 of my brakes are dragging badly. The rear drums smoke after about 5 miles of highway driving. New wheel cylinders. New master cylinder. Bled the entire system. Even disabled the abs. The only thing I’m down to is the booster. Mine is leaking oil from where it Mates to the master cylinder. Can the booster cause the brakes to drag if it’s gone bad??
It is possible if it won't release all the way.
@@Glennfix Gonna give it a go and put one on. Hopefully it fixes it, driving me crazy! Thank you.
When I start my truck the brake pedal gets sucked all the way to the floor and can’t raise it .. when I turn it off it goes to normal. Any ideas why that is ?
Sounds like the hydraulic brake booster is bad. It is the only thing that could do that. You could drain the power steering fluid out and see what happens. If it does not move with out fluid then it is the brake booster.
This isn’t the same procedure for all Cummins, you need to state what year model in your title
Do I have to bleed the system after the install?
It will self bleed just turn the steering wheel back and forth a couple of times.
Awesome thanks for the help 👍
Where did you buy your hydro booster from and what brand is it?
It was a rebuilt one not new, I got it off ebay.
@@Glennfix thanks getting ready to replace mine. Great videos!
