    It’s a nice looking machine. When I bought my zero turn 4 years ago it was between that exact machine or the scag liberty z. I ended up with the scag but that was the machine I wanted. It has heavier duty hydros on it and a bigger motor. I think you will be happy. I ended up with the scag basically because of availability. At the time the kubota was new to the market and they couldn’t really tell me how long it would take to get so I went with the scag and took delivery 2 days later. For a homeowner machine anyone in that class is nice and you can’t really go wrong.

    I am on year 3 with my Z421, pretty rock solid mower so far. I have the 48 inch deck and wished I had the 54 inch instead. The deck does not stick out far enough for edging and I have ruined 1 left side tire already. Motor is strong although more HP would be nice but not necessary. As fast as I get done now vs a normal lawn tractor, I find myself doing more areas of my property than I had done before. Parts can be ordered online from about anywhere and are very reasonable. Enjoy!.

  • @SandyMasquith
    @SandyMasquith Před 2 lety

    How cool!! I got this same mower before last summer and have a full season of mowing with it now. You’ll get used to the stick driving before you know it. Seems weird and awkward at first, but that goes away quickly. I’m no expert, obviously, but it was my first ever 0-turn and got comfortable on it pretty quickly. I can say it’s pretty tough! I accidentally pulled a tarp into the blades and it shut off. I was able to get it back to the garage, but the blades no longer turned. I got a jack and was able to pull all the tarp from around the blade shafts. There was no damage to any of the mower parts! Just something to be aware of. Careful around them hidden objects! A lift or jack is a great addition for maintenance. Have fun!!!

    • @ritterjon
      @ritterjon  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks, I'm really looking forward to it drying up so I can practice my skills. I'll make sure no loose tarps are flying around. I bet that was quite a mess. Thanks for the comment.

    I have a 726x and have had no issues in 3 years of use, best advice on mowing hills is to go up and down rather than side hilling especially if the grass is damp or wet. They tend to slide down the slope depending on how steep it is. You can adjust the control levers so they don't interfere with your legs and for the best comfort level, lever control will come quickly and you won't even think about it. Take care... Your daughter is a hoot lol...

    We bought our z421 60” four years ago and it has 128 hrs. The only difference between the 54” and 60” besides the deck is the size of the back tires. We mow 2.5 acres at a time. Maintenance is very easy. The only issue we’ve had is the starter solenoid went out. You will enjoy it.

    Very Nice
    Like the idea of a tool bar
    I want to add a holder for my weed eater
    Also yo will want to add if not on yours already is a ball hitch for a wagon so you can carry or pull a sprayer for weeds or to water your plants from the seater position
    Other than that they are east to work on
    Only problem I’ve ever had was my Badboy would not start because the wires came loose from safety switch
    Easy fix but poor design on mine
    The only thing I would change now is to update from my elite to the Rogue because of the size of my property and for a better riding experience.
    P.S. they are great for the GO Pros can get many cool video shots
    Great purchase you and the family will love it
    Be careful on wet hills ! Won’t turn over but sliding and spinning are a real challenge !

  • @wildbill23c
    @wildbill23c Před 2 lety

    I think Brielle has a much better thought on that bucket holder. All that crap mounted to that zero turn when you do flip it over, the thing rolling over on you won't be what kills you, it'll be everything flying off that tool rack, out of the bucket, and all the garden tools you land on top of.
    Should have just bought a lawn tractor. Unless you have a nice smooth lawn, you really aren't gaining anything with a zero turn, they ride really rough, and not as controllable on hills...oh and as someone else mentioned they don't have brakes.

  • @Chris_In_Texas
    @Chris_In_Texas Před 2 lety

    Just remember to keep both rear wheels moving otherwise you will tear up the turf. The easiest way to do this is via three point turns at the end of each line. Once you practice you will get very fast at turning around, basically make a Y at the end, pull direction you want to go and then reverse back the other way and end up back going the other way. If you drag a wheel like making a 180 degree turn with a wheel stopped it will leave a big divot in the grass. The other thing is make sure you wear the seat belt if you have the rops up and don't wear the seat belt if the rops is down. I have Hustler Super Z Hyperdrive and they are heavy and will tear things up if you don't make proper turns.

    • @ritterjon

    While your waiting to thaw out…..limb up the trees, edge and mulch them once you can get a shovel in the ground, and decide your mowing plan so you’re moving forward most of the time. Remember the front end is light when dealing with hills.

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c Před 2 lety

      They might be fast, but they ride horribly if you have a rough yard, which most think they got a nice smooth yard till the first time they go flying across it on a zero turn and that mower is everyway but smooth.

    It gos to fast that's why I don't like zero turn mower. I have driven one it went to fast for me you can't plow with it. I like kubota bx tractors. It's easy for me to drive. The mower deck is easy to put on . I been doing every spring . So it's easy. I know you said it's hard to put on . You have a 60 deck not a 54 mower deck. In are family we have a kubota bx and my uncle has a kubota bx I have a kubota bx1880 with rck54 mower deck. It's easy to put on because the rck54 mower deck is easy. To put on and take off. I think the rck54 mower deck would been easier for you not the 60 mower deck . I been happy with the rck54 mower deck when I was buying a kubota bx1880. I was think what mower deck to buy I thought the rck48 mower deck but I would been mower for a while. So I heard when you buy a kubota bx1880 with a rck54 mower deck the price would be cheaper when you bought it. I said rck54 mower deck would do they said I your sure you want the rck54 mower deck I said yes because we have kubota bx with rck54 mower deck and it would be quicker cut the grass. I love my rck54. Mower deck. Last summer. I mow the grass with it I love it cut the leaves in the fall. Did great. Better than cub cadet xt2. Dose pick up leaves I hate it because it doesn't chopped the leaves up in the bagger. The kubota bx1880 bagger does chopped leaves it bigger than cub cadet bagger 2 bags kubota bags 3 bags the kubota bagger fit more leaves in it than cub cadet bagger you have to dump them more.
