My first thought when seeing the Slap was that just a couple weeks earlier I’d seen a headline about how terrible Jada is with a pic of WS in tears. Surprised no one talked about that. I felt sorry for him. That she needs to pleasure herself and give herself permission to sleep around, but needs her betrayed husband to defend her honor is pretty messed up.
The saddest part is that people stay and abuse each other when they should have left. There is no pride in staying in a sick relationship. Embrace Change, Everything Times Out. Will is NO victim, stop this. He danced the dance with the devil, there are consequences.

I've been studying narcissism for awhile. It's not uncommon for confident people to be charmed by the narcissist. However, given what we know about his family life growing up there seems to be some co-dependency and/or trauma bonding with Will. A narcissist will make one feel like you're under a spell that is hard to break. It's as if one is addicted to the narcissist (Ride or Die Couple as Will put it). There really is much more to it, but I totally think she's a narcissist who is totally in control and fully capable of manipulating Will.

From Jada's narcissism it is easy enough to conclude that Will Smith is borderline. The narcissist - borderline dynamic is well known to be toxic to everyone around them and to themselves. The borderline overreacts to their own emotional projection and keeps going even after cognition tells them that they done fucked up. I have seen this cycle play out many times with men I’ve known who would completely disrespect themselves and other ppl they care about in a desperate attempt to earn the love and respect of their abusive partner.
