- Hey guys! In today's video I'm going to be showing you 3 cool method how to lace your Vans Old Skool. This is simple tutorial about lacing Vans Old Skool. Let's take a closer look at these three methods:
0:00 - Method 1: Loosely
1. Put your laces through the first two eyelets;
2. Then make sure both ends of the lace are even;
3. Take the string in the first eyelet on the left and put it in the second on the right;
4. Take the string in the first eyelet on the right and put it in the second on the left. ( Use your finger to limit the lace);
5. Repeat this lacing pattern for the rest of the eyelet;
6. Now instead of going through the top of the eyelet, go through the bottom, from inside to out on both sides.
03:35 - Method 2: Bar lace
1. Insert each end of the shoelace downward through one of the bottom two eyelets;
2. Feed the right lace underneath the shoe so that it pops out of the third eyelet on the right side;
3. Then feed the left lace underneath the shoe so that it pops out of the second eyelet on the left side;
4. Cross the left lace over to the right side and insert it downward through the second eyelet;
5. Then cross the right lace over to the left side and insert it downward through the third eyelet;
6. Repeat this lacing pattern for the rest of the eyelet.
06:29 - Method 6: Diamond
1. Starting from the two bottom opposite facing holes, insert each end of the shoelace from the inside. Make sure both sides of the remaining laces are equal;
2. Take the lace in the last eyelet on the right and put it in the third on the left;
3. Then put that same lace under to the previous eyelet;
4. Then take the lace in the last eyelet on the left and put it in the third on the right;
5. Then put that same lace under to the previous eyelet;
6. Repeat this lacing pattern for the rest of the eyelet.

Do you find its hard to slide the shoes onto you feet with the bar lacing? Like do you have to undo it every time you go to put the shoes on? or do they still slide on pretty easily?

When I was a kid Vans were the poor man shoe.. my mom used to buy me them at Mervyns which is no longer around lol

You can have multiple pairs of vans instead of coppin one pair of Jordans or Yeezys.
Better a cheaper yet reliable and good looking shoe than all the pricey shoes.

my vans have 7 lace holes instead of 8. Which length of lace should I get so the end parts stick out perfect. (i’m trying to do the first lace pattern in the video)
I tried the first patter too but I only have 6 lace holes. Still want to try it though so I may get shorter and even thicker laces to achieve the same look 🙌🏽

Tried the diamond method..when I got done it looked like a puffy mess and impossible to tighten up. Undid the whole thing and went back to just regular old scooll lace up, no fancy look. Ohh well, I tried!

Bar lace looks great but that'd have to be uncomfortable to have the tips inside the shoe
if you don’t care about the laces and can buy new laces you can just tie a small knot inside and cut them so the tips don’t poke you
they really arent uncomfortable i place them under the insole
