If you liked that you should her Level 42's earlier live work. Mark King is an absolute bass slapping beast on stage, but his slap work in the band's earlier days was fearless.

My theory is that the bassist, Mark King, chews gum to somehow hold down the rhythm between singing a melody line and playing bass lines (that he writes) which are often conflicting. Some other greats, like Sting and Geddy Lee, will oftentimes write bass lines around the melody thereby making it slightly easier to do both at the same time.
Mark King is also considered one of the greatest pop-jazz bassists (especially in slap). Check out any of Level 42’s earlier tracks live like, “Love Games” with the original band members: brothers Phil and “Boon” Gould, on drums and guitar.
