I was there! It was the year my little brother had died back in March so to say the least mine and my family's lives were still turned way upside down. I turned 15 years old on the day of the final weigh in, August 3rd 2003. my parents took me since we're only 100 miles from New Orleans. at that time I was VERY into bass fishing. I met Shaw Grigsby earlier in the day and a bunch of other anglers. it's a precious precious memory to me.

Flippin the canes in Venice baby, what a fishery. I once lipped a 4 lb bass and when I raised her out the water a 6’ bull shark came by to take it from me. This was after limiting out in the duck blind at daybreak. Sportsman’s Paradise it is.

If anyone out there remembers the IROC series of NASCAR they need to have a fishing League like that no modern fish finders everything has to be 2003 or older gear everything and maybe even having nostalgia classic where they have to use a gear from the 70s like Roland Martin did

The announcer suggesting that the local fisherman should give up their spot for a tournament fisherman @24:30 was a little annoying to me. The everyday fisherman/consumer is the reason the sport thrives.
