- 2006 was the first year of the Bassmaster Elite Series where 100 of the best bass anglers in the world competed for four days of fierce competition. Lake Amistad was the playing ground for the first ever Elite event.

This is when Ish saw what he believed to be a world record class fish on a bed in practice and he chose not to try to catch it until the tournament started and when he came back during the tournament it was gone 😕

Bro this lake is the easiest to catch bass, I'm a bank fisherman and I can tell how easy is to catch a lot of bass, not even 10 minutes throwing a senko at 6:30 am and landed a 3,3 kilos bass, sorry for not put it in lbs but I'm mexican, here we count the weight on kilos

Crazy watching this 14yrs later and knowing that Amistad is awesome but putting it into perspective that a lake in Michigan had close to the same weights with smallmouth. WOW St. Clair is incredible, you may not catch an 8 but 5-7# smallmouth are insane. I didn't even mention Erie were my biggest largemouth a 7.8 and smallmouth 7.1 not bad for Michigan.

I don't know if those big bass exist their anymore who knows
that but also mainly due to the extremely high pressure this lake still recieves ever since the exposure. This tournament is posibly the worst thing that could have happened to this lake
