    I believe that as members of Christ's church, we have to take these scriptures that we have left on the outskirts of study. And take it upon ourselves to learn it. These types of videos/ podcasts are a tremendous help for us to achieve the goal of really learning these scriptures. As the Prophet intimidated we can no longer be the arm chair Christian. Thank you.

    As a Relief Society sister originally from Lehi, back when it was just like Parowan, I LOVE it when academics refer to people like me as the intellectual bottom of the barrel. It makes me feel so appreciated and not misjudged at all.

    Hey there! I hope you're well. I wholeheartedly agree that Abraham sought and obtained a higher priesthood. The life and teachings of Joseph Smith support this. Abraham rightfully inherited the Patriarchal Priesthood from his fathers, which is a subset of the Melchizedek Priesthood. The Patriarchal Priesthood entails the power and authority to seal blessings upon one's household and posterity. He sought a fulness of the Melchizedek Priesthood however, which entails the power and authority to seal blessings upon all, to command the elements, and to administer the Gospel of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach. Love your show homie. Thanks for all you do.

    Thanks for sharing. I have wondered about Kolob and haven't heard much, put it on the back burner.
    The latest was about a week ago from a funny source. The show Battlestar Galactica from 2004, that I just started watching. The humans are from Kobol (similar to Kolob to me at least). There are 12 tribes of people but they are the horoscope signs. The 13th tribe left and went in search of Earth as their new home. The people's creation of cylons (robots) went against them to kill them. There are other things in the show that relate to religion.

      Glen Larson who started out working on the Six Million Dollar Man, was responsible for many great television series including Alias Smith and Jones, Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo, Quincy, M.E., The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, B. J. and the Bear, The Fall Guy, Magnum, P.I. and Knight Rider. The original series had far more connections that didn't make it into the reboot such as sealing (marriage) for "time and eternity", a "council of twelve", "robes of authority" "Eden being a space vessel", and of coarse blending the story of Noah's ark with that of Lehi's journey to the promise land. He had been working on the concept since 1968, but was not able to get producers to fund it until the success of Star Wars.
      Larson was not only a member of the Church but supported many LDS science fiction authors. Consdered by many to have been the most influential non Osmond in televisions.

    I often think while hearing the uncertainties of astrophysicist, and other scientists in relation to the existance of life on other planets how bold the Pearl of Great Price is to say that God has created worlds without number to man, and by His only begotten Son were they created. We, with the James Wb , and Hubble telescopes are making feeble attempts to catch up with the Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, D&C, and Joseph Smith.

    There's something missing here. 1. JOSEPH SMITH Said: Kolob was home before we came here, main reason why is because we sinned before we came to earth. Preordaination according to Alma chapters 12 and 13, talks freely about our activities as intelligences. Based on what Joseph Smith taught about Kolob, it makes sense that, since nothing impure can dwell in the presence of God, and the fact that Father gave Lucifer and his followers plenty of time to change their minds. It will not be doctrinal to think that Lucifer was doing his dirty work right in front of Father. No wonder Eliza R Snow understood this because Joseph and Brigham taught her about it. The premortal council was a serious of events right, so it was the work of Lucifer. The Egyptian culture was a fallen and idolatrous, no wonder no wonder the people of Israel became idolatrous as well. Maybe the Egyptians were wholesome at the beginning, but not at the time of Abraham. The temple ceremony doesn't have anything to do with any Egyptian influence! It was revealed by The Spirit of Prophesy and Revelation to Joseph, Brigham, and Wilford W.

    I’m not a critic of the church but I can still say the words from the B of A was written in words that cane from Joseph Smiths heart and mind. Saying this proven truth isn’t an arrow and nor does it mean I don’t appreciate the truths taught in the book. The false doctrines taught here are those by the apologist who try and create a convoluted description of hoe there is a lot of works being done implying that they are learning more and more about how true it is but yet there is no new evidence. Great job for doing good work but at least be honest with the current evidence that Joseph wrote the book, irs been proven he didn’t translate it but the words themselves are inspiring. The Book of Mormon has already gone through this process and we can now say we know he didn’t translate the words on the plates but was inspired by the scratching in the plates he saw to write a story of cultures on a continent that demonstrate that having faith in Christ and living a Christ like life redeems AND brings exhalation. The most beautiful and simple message of Gods gospel for us without mention of many things added by man after the Book of Mormon was written and the prophet Joseph was killed.

    • @CwicShow
      @CwicShow  Před 3 lety +3

      I know there are others that believe as you do. I don't agree. Although the process may be "inspired" and not "translated" as we would think of it today, I do believe that these are true "stories". There was a real Moroni and real plates. They were buried in a real stone box along with the Liahona, Sword of Laban and Urim and Thummim.
      As far as the Book of Abraham goes, I don't care where the content came from, but I do believe the truths come from real history and/or real previous authors.
      But that is why the focus here is not on the process or the papyri. That is something we agree on. They are not as important as the content of the book.

      Cwic Media thanks for the response. I’m still trying to work out how the fruit of these supernatural truths that feel true the and the obvious contradictions we are now aware of are to be measured when studying out the truthfulness of the church as an organization.

    • @CwicShow
      @CwicShow  Před 3 lety

      If you believe they are "supernatural" truths, then it only makes sense to believe in the organization. Joseph Smith was a prophet. He had the First Vision and he produced, regardless of how, the Book of Mormon, the Book of Abraham, the Book of Moses, the JST and the Doctrine & Covenants. I am going to guess that you believe the overall theology produced by JS is astounding.
      What if we were only 200 years from the time of Moses. What if we had some form of biography of the man generated by himself and those around him? What if we had first and second hand accounts of how the tablets were "written by the finger of God" as well as the experience on Sinai, the parting of the Red Sea, the water from the rock and the manna from heaven? Many, especially the critically learned would "deconstruct" it down to its physical process and build new narratives. That is inevitable with all things. Truth and history are very slippery.
