Jan has been Alex's hardest fight at 205 without a doubt.
And that's why Jan deserves another title shot
No that was Izzy at 287. No cap please. Lol.
@@spencerwilliams461 I said at 205, learn to read brother
I feel Ankalaev will take that spot soon.
@@spencerwilliams461 It would be very difficult for Adesanya to compete with pereira at 205. He just isn't the same size, pereira's natural weight is 205+

People in mma don't give anyone the credit they deserve until they see that there is worse.
Disagree. Jan is considered one of the best fighters ever by the people.
Who's people? Jan was one of the most rated fighters during his prime
In a rounds fight he would be demolished, he don't deserve a title shot without beating Jiri, Jamahal or Ankalaev in a 5 rounds fight
Coz he said he would stand toe to toe with alex but he started the round with take down😂
So Pereira went up....beat Jan ,Jiri ,the Jamal Hill !! Three consecutive wins !! Wow

Beat up? Did you not just watch the video? A "controversial win" is about as generous as I can call his performance here, and I'm giving it too much credit.

@@somealias-zs1bw it was a Split Decision. Jan got rd 1 Alex got rd 3 , rd-2 was tricky coz Jan did dominated in the ground but he wasnt able to do a real damage, and he shown fatigue and got dominated in the exchanges on the later minute in rd-2 so this is indeed a justifiable Split Decision.
Alex learns a lot in each fight. Impressive how Alex improved after this fight with Jan.

Fair enough it was a close fight, anyone who says otherwise is crazy, I think alex did more significant damage with his strikes in Rd 3 but jan hit him quite a bit himself plus the takedown.

Yan vs Sadong full fight please
I didn’t watch this fight live and assumed if it went to a decision then they were gonna give it to pereira, but watching it now Jan won the 1st round, and pereira won the 2nd and 3rd round. The 3rd round wasn’t as close as many people would think on top of that the takedown Jan did didn’t do much because he didn’t throw any significant strikes. I like both fighters, but pereira definitely won fight would be interesting if it was 5 rounds instead of 3
Actually if you look at the official stats, Jan had 10 more significant strikes to the head in round 3 than Pereira. So what is your view now? You still think Alex won, that leg kicks which do no damage are better than a takedown, ground control, and head strikes? Because if you think Alex won, that’s what you’re saying. So answer at the same time, Do you think Alex won and do you think leg kicks which do no damage should be valued higher than takedowns, ground control time, and head strikes?
bro did you even watch round 3. Or are you just looking at the official stats. Half of the strikes hit Alex’s glove or didn’t connect properly. He landed maybe 3 clean punches at most. And the ground control in the last 40 seconds of the match? The commentators said it themselves. He was doing no damage and it didn’t even factor in the scoring.
@@reven472 10 more significant head strikes, a takedown, 40 seconds of ground and pound. What does Alex have? Leg kicks which were totally useless despite Rogan’s insufferable attempts to convince us otherwise. The only reason you think Alex won is because you’re a fangirl. Unfortunately there’s many fangirl casuals like you which is why they rigged this for Alex and had Rogan and Cormier try to sell leg taps as the Viscious combos Jan landed on Pereira’s face. HA! Never took the UFC serious after watching this blatant robbery. Get over yourself, Alex lost and everyone knows this deep down. It’s why the UFC doesn’t promote or show this fight
@@reven472 Also, I hope you know that the UFC doesn’t randomly count their official stats. If they count something as a significant head strike, it didn’t hit his fucking glove
@@tylerscott445 but they do randomly count. Do you know anything about mma or boxing? Striking stats are nothing but garbage and are never counted properly. Since you aren't mentioning the takedowns and ground control time like you did in your last comment, im assuming you know that you're in the wrong. This guy was just giving his take on the fight and you're being such a cheeky neek about it.
Strictly according to MMA rules, there is no doubt in my mind mind that Blajowicz won that fight. Jan's a unit. I can see why Izzy had trouble with him.
This was an excellent fight

2-1 to Alex. Yan won the first round by hugging. Alex won the rest.

What about the takedown in rnd 2 and strikes on the ground and being near equal in strikes on the feet? Lol

@@ssj4goku18825theepic I agree he landed the harder shots probably but if you look at the stats he only had 10 more sig strikes vs 2 min of Jan control time
@@paragon1782the problem is Jan didn’t do very much with the control time half of it was just laying and at best pounding a few side hits to the face and the rest of it was him laying on the clinch when Alex got out of the wrestling

It must be a rematch and we hoped that Jan should have better cardio.

I hope there will be a rematch. Jan had two arms broken AF. Now he is after 2 surgeries.
This was a shit fight, but I give the edge to blachowicz, first round good control on the ground. Second round alex no doubt. Third round I believe even though alex landed the harder shots blachowicz landed more and had a successful take down. He just looked absolutely spent doing it though
If they didn’t fight in Salt Lake City, Jan would win that fight. Attitude hit him harder than Pereira.
This is what people don't get about wrestling. It's not easy just because Dagestanis ragdoll everyone.

Jan did great, had he had better cardio he definitely had the right game plan, no doubt. I can see why they put jamal in on 300. A grappler thst covers up un the exchanges would have been a gamble if they are trying to build Alex up as a star.
So we're scoring fights based on who looks more tired now?

I'm polish and I can say That: dear Jan all you did was pretty good. Especially having a fight with Alex. Alex is more experienced and got stamina. This is what we need. Stamina not the power.
Jan clearly won first round , Alex won second , third round very close , draw was fair
Clear first round jan, clear 2nd alex. All depended on that third. Slight superiority for alex on the strikes, slight on the grappling by Jan. In the end it seemed like alex had pressured and controlled the action more, and could go for more rounds. While Jan looked done. This matters too
How is 2nd clear for alex Jan landed tow clean strikes and controlled on the ground up until a minute in the round, where alex did apply more pressure but that doesn’t win him the round in my eye

Gotta check the stats and points criteria
@@gabrielchaves4822 I know the criteria and stats don't say the whole story, it is a close fight for sure
to be clear, i don't really have a problem with the decision
I was there in person and also had that, but you sorta have to realize that Jans takedown at the end doesn't mean anything when he laded no damage with it
How did he win 3? he only hugged him and Alex outstruck him LOL. He also got cut on his nose and damage is the highest criteria in a fight LOL. He definately didn't win 3. I give him 1 by out hugging Alex.
@@ashleyalexander7388cut on his nose happened in the 2nd though.
Re watchhing and jan def won 1 & honestly even all 3 he jad morw control time and wasnt letting alex do what he usually does they just gave it to alex we needa rematch
Jan clearly won the fight but they really want Alex to win so they can do the business LHW.
Just rewatched this fight.
Altough it looks like Pereira was playing this fight rather safe on the feet, he attempted more than 15 full swung left hooks in basically just 2 rounds.
And he did not land a single one of them CLEAN on blachowicz, either he blocked it partly with his arms or just got his head slightly off angle. This shows then when you have good defense, unlike (jiri and hill) you can stand and bang with pereira.
Blachowicz only real problem was that he gassed out like crazy in the second round, and its even crazier to think that he has went 5 rounds before withought gassing. I dont think blachwicz wins a rematch vs pereira since he is only getting older and pereira is adjusting to LHW whilst still being in his prime.
I think the blachowicz that fought Reyes and Adesanya beats Pereira
In 5 rounds the leg kicks might add up though. Not sure if anyone has the defense to guard against those if Jan couldnt
@@ravenoushydra7948 As far the the leg kicks go, he didn't do to bad. He swelled up Pereira legs pretty badly too and he even went shin-to-shin with him in the 3rd. I think him being completely gassed is just what made him fight the way he did. If you watch any of his fights before. He is always a resting - blitzing type of fighter. But in this fight he just moved so slow even when he was throwing. Altitude definitely took more from Blachowicz than pereira
Pereira was also tired… it goes both ways. 2 more rounds Jans legs are gone and he would have got finished. And this fight was straight after the Adesanya loss. Still a bit cautious and his first 205 fight.
Assistindo a Luta novamente, 2 x 1 pra Poatan, foi amarrada. Alex tava forte mas parece que Lento.
Quando fica em Pé tem domínio! No 2o round se tem 1 min a mais Poatan nockoutei o Jan
You guys don’t realize Jan came into this fight with the soul intent to stink up the fight. His gameplan was to lay and pray. He didn’t do anything with his takedowns in round 2 and 3, he didn’t deliver any damage, and he was completely gassed after round 1. Damage trumps all, and Alex delivered more damage than Jan. It was definitely a good win for Alex.
Yet still Pereira could do fuck all
what ...kkkkk . In the 3 , jan beat 10 in the head of the poatan , you are the fun crazy of poatan right...
Damage doesn't trump all or the Diaz brothers would probably have lost most fights and if one fighter has a lot more damage sometimes it's all from one round and even though one fighter has less damage at the end of the fight he could have received that damage in several rounds. A good example is when Michael bisping fought Anderson Silva, bisping had a lot more damage than Silva after the fight but not only did the majority of the damage come from one round it was also mostly from just one strike when Silva kneed him in the face but I think they need to score each fight as a whole instead of scoring each round.

quem venceu a luta ...não vai responder não...
1st round: Blachowicz convincingly
2nd round: Blachowicz had him on the ground put Pereira did enough damage by the end of the round to win
3rd round: Both did well but I thought Pereira had some nice shots and Blachowicz had some clean shots as well. Seemed to me like Pereira could have honestly won easily if he had thrown more than 1 punch at a time. This round seemed very balanced but I'd give an edge to Blachowicz because of the takedown.
Pereira did more damage with his shots in the 3rd
@@nobody8739 My thoughts exactly, and he was definitely the aggresor as well. Which does count for something as well I honestly think Jan had more claims to the 2nd round actually, but it was close. The first time I watched this I actually had Jan winning the fight. Namely because he had such a dominant first round, and it felt like Alex was trying to catch up the rest of the fight, and because he didn't put Jan down I felt like giving it to Jan. But when you have to give equal weight to the rounds, as the difference in 1 round while bigger then Alex's in 2 and 3, it wasn't exactly a total blow out, as Alex defended really well. Still though, it was super close. And I honestly think this was probablyp a tie, but given they hate ties on title fights, and that Alex is their big money golden goose right now, I think that is always going to play a factor in the judges.
Jan deseves definitely more credit then he gets for this fight, but Alex is so dangerous, run this fight a few times back and I think Alex likely is putting Jan to sleep more than Alex is is getting sub'd by Jan, so in that way I can live with Alex being somewhat gifted this fight. Again, based on it being a tie, not that Jan won and they gifted it to Alex. But just like 0.25 points for Alex, enough give him the win on an otherwise tie fight...
Both deserve to be where they are fighting the best in the world...
@@Arrogan28lol
@@Arrogan28i can understand ur take on the scoring and it seems fair to me, but the judging criteria says damage is the main factor theyre looking for when scoring a round, imo all the rounds are 10-9, the first round is definitely jans but just because of the control time and the sub attemps even though they were never close to getting locked in, the second is for sure the hardest to score but i still give it to alex, again he was the one doing more damage and its pretty easy to tell he wasnt tagging pereira with his punches due to his fatigue, plus he was reacting way more to the shots pereira was throwing, the third is clearly pereiras round, battered jans leg and body even tagged him with his single punches, i didnt see alex faced by jans punches again bc he was so tired he barely could get his arms to swing, all and all according to how rounds should be scored the decition seems fair to me, but after all im a pretty big fan of most brazilian fighters so i might be biased lol

@@Clarity0yx That's how you can steal a round where your opponent has landed more volume but if you cut them the judges will give you the round. The judging criteria was changed in 2019 in this way to avoid point fights where they end up on the ground and the guy on top is just tapping the guy on the bottom to a decision.
