Hi, just dropping by because you said that you want to maximize everything. I think one of the things you would want to maximize is looking young and with that I do hope that you put sunscreen. There was a tanning part in the video and that practice may age you faster because of sun exposure so i just wanted to point that out and maybe invest in a tanning lotion instead.

Kudos to you for finding a profitable market. However, this speaks volumes about how terrible our beauty standards are. Agencies and companies overglorify the western look that is unnatural to the Filipino populace. His spot could've been given to one of the many good looking aspiring moreno.
I dream a day when us 'ethnic'-looking people, the majority of Filipinos, can finally glorify ourselves in our own country.
Hmm I don’t know, I know so many Filipino models that are very successful here and there are actually relatively few foreign models compared to other markets.
In addition, it technically all starts from the consumers not the companies or agencies. If customers buy more from brands that use local models in their advertising, companies will book more locals and in turn agencies don’t profit as much from fly-in models.
But I do of course see where you’re coming from… I also think that the foreign influence in the Philippines is huge. Hopefully time helps Filipinos regain their culture and improve their self view ❤️🇵🇭
It seems like worldwide beauty standards are always what you can’t have 🙃 In the Philippines it’s the western look, whereas in Europe people spend hours lying in the sun to look more tanned…
That's foul and ignorant, I am an OFW in Malaysia and working as a data analyst. What if a Malaysian say, its not fair to over glorify the skill of a foreign data analyst that could have been given to a Malaysian who have the same skillset. Filipinos are everywhere in the world and each countries were amazed of how hard working we are. So it's NOT fair that you would call out the modelling job if this foreign model if he has the qualifications they needed for their campaign. Don't be a hypocrite because us Filipinos also have been given a lot of opportunity outside our country...

finally someone making a vlog about this. thousands of brazilians and other western models have been coming to ph for 2 decades now. they use the country as training ground before they rule the runways of usa and europe
The Philippines is so focused on the White race being beautiful only. This must do a lot of harm to the local population, making them feel inadequate. I noticed they send mostly mixed-White contestants to the beauty contests too.
I also see young Filipinas marry half-dead old, old White American men, yes for finances but also to have a White-like baby, is what one Filipina told me. That is so sad.
They need to see themselves as beautiful. The country needs to change this colonial hangover from the Spanish and Americans.

Eh, this dude is your average looking white boy, but whatever works for the Philippines. I’ve seen many mixed filipinos turned celebrities trying their luck in the Philippines and finding success, or a name for themselves in the entertainment just for being good looking. Meanwhile you got them dudes like Fabio Idle, Daniel Matsunaga, and Akihiro Sato who got handed acting projects and get treated like celebrities just for being good looking. There are plenty better good looking international male models based in Thailand whom can/could barely even make it through the entertainment. The most and only successful international male model based in Thailand turned actor is Luke Plowden.

The modeling industry has always been touted to be glamorous but it is far from the truth. Models from the opposite aisles are facing harsh competition, sexual assault, drugs and fake lives, not to mention that in this modern age, anyone can be a model. I still believe that no matter the profession, it boils down to the right attitude, right company and right sense of reality.

as far as i know. BGC is the only place in the Philippines where u can drink tap water as BGC is known to have their own filtration system
You are right. BGC has its own water utility company. Water rates in BGC is around approx. P135 per cubic meter,  which means a bill of around P700 (USD 14) for a two-person household. This water rate is higher than elsewhere in Metro Manila. If not the entire Philippines. they pre-filter the water so that it is drinkable from the tap. Nonetheless, many residents are still worried about the safety of the water, and either install their own filter or buy filtered water..

Is modeling your chosen career or is there something you still want to pursue for the long term?
At the moment I am doing modeling on the side to help pay the bills, but ideally I would like to pursue another career in the long term. This CZcams channel for example or doing something with my Marketing and Management degree would be something I see myself doing long term. 😊

Pretty much just like living somewhere in CA. The climate, the environment (well, except for the roads because traffic here is hell), even your lifestyle. The only difference is that you're working mostly with Filipinos.
