Ty! I had a problem of the thermostat not connecting, finally I got frustrated and set the tstat knocking one of the batteries loose, and it lit up! Found out the metal tab that holds battery in place wasn’t making contact with the batter fully installed, I just tweaked the tab problem solved.

Thinking of an Ecobee 3. How would you say this compares to like a Heat Pump energy efficiency wise and can these go mounted above like a mini split?
Well this thermostat only works wireless, it can be used solely for cooling if you like( it will work like any thermostat). This thermostat will work great with both cooler only units and heat pumps
Unless they supply house sells u a different one that needs a transponder, and they tell u u don't need a the transponder. After they give u the wrong unit the first time, will not go back there in kc again
Also, besides the Amana thermostat. Are there any others that connect to the PTAC wireless? I looked but seems all i found have to be connected with wires
Hello Yeah, technically you dont need the app to bind. The app is to adjust the settings, but if the unit is set to the wired thermostat you wont wont be able to bind the two

Well this thermostat only works wireless, it can be used solely for cooling if you like( it will work like any thermostat). This thermostat will work great with both cooler only units and heat pumps
This particular thermostat will not work with a mini split system, because you'll need to connect a antenna box. Mini split dont have the connection

Any other thermostats you can recommend besides the Amana and Eden that can connect like this one wireless.
The Amana and Eden thermostats are the only ones that will bind to the new units without a antenna. Anything else will have to be wired

I keep getting “no link” when it brings up the TStat on the app. Won’t pair with the unit. Any recommendations?
Turn the master switch off and restart the app, once you have restart the app turn the master switch back on and retry

Yes, J or K series can use a wired or a wireless thermostat the only thing is that if you do use a wireless thermostat they dont need the antenna box
