I am going to be real with you. I've switched genres for over 10 years on many channels and the thing I figured out is after 5 months no one actually cares what you're making so long as what you are making is good. You're a halo channel purely because you keep making Halo stuff. If you make your own stuff and just ignore the comments on YOUR channel and focus on what YOU wanna make then the people will come to watch. Don't torture yourself in the Halo hole like so many others. You can and will succeed outside of Halo if you make it, it maybe wont be instantly but it will happen. If you wanna keep that Halo crowd for a bit maybe make stuff on Microsoft or Xbox owned games for a bit then transition to the whole of gaming. Alternatively you've made this video and set the precedent for non-Halo centered uploads so just... upload some non-Halo stuff. Some people will complain but just ignore em and move on it's your channel, they aren't spending hours editing this stuff you are.

It's beyond depressing to see the fatigue from all these Halo content creators and 343 is entirely to blame. All the talk about how much they adore the story means nothing when they show through their actions (or lack thereof) and projects that they actively dislike Halo - they wanted it to be everything else (CoD, then Titanfall, now Apex Legends) from the jump and I'm honestly glad people are leaving in droves. My hope is that Joseph Staten is actually weeding these people out that are trying to make all these dogshit decisions.

I think what made you're Halo content great wasn't that it was Halo, but that you clearly enjoyed what you were doing with it and having fun. As long as you actually feel good about making it, not just quality but actually enjoying it, then it should still be a lot of fun for the people who have followed you for all this time. You might have made a brand being Halo, but now make that brand being Fun that started with Halo
Feel free to play non halo games on the channel. I can relate from Titanfall 2 - a lot of streamers and youtubers died out because they didn't feel that their fanbase would accept them playing another game. But a lot of them moved on and are doing well. Basically, do what you love. Yes, some people will criticize you for it, but I'd wager that, as a content creator, you've had critics for a long time. People will support you for you, not just for the games you play.

I don’t think you needed to apologize for this. Halo just IS in a bad place right now. I really like Infinite’s campaign and gameplay but even I have to admit that there’s just nothing bringing me back regularly. Have you thought of maybe making videos on other games besides Halo? I know your channel has a big connection to Halo but I would watch videos of you talking about other games.
I'm the guy who made that armor color edit you used in one of your old videos when we were still excited for Halo Infinite. I got off Twitter, and have a different name on CZcams, but that was me. I am no longer excited for Halo's future under 343. It's just not the same. Armor coatings were a kick in ass for me after I made that edit because it showed that a feature I came to expect and enjoy from the series was no longer a priority, and if small features didn't matter then the big features would follow once they fell out of style for 343, as they do with each of their games. Halo isn't Halo anymore, and not even the current reorganization of 343's leadership has gotten me back into actually playing the game. I just use forge for unrelated Halo things outside of gameplay. I don't even do AI battles, the feature I've wanted since Halo 3 and the videos of modded Halo CE PC Blood Gulch battles. They killed the magic, and their fans and defenders have done nothing to try to convince old fans that it's worth playing with them. They're equally as toxic as they claim we are. The difference is we lost what we liked about Halo, they haven't yet.
While I truly appreciate the honesty it saddens me to see such amazing series go and unfortunately that was the content that I enjoyed watching. You have my respect for making this video letting fans know the direction you plan to take this channel, regretfully it is not the content I subscribed for.
As hard as it is to admit this, I agree. Halo has lost me and I’ve moved on to other games that I find really fun, DOOM, Dishonored, Assassins Creed. I might return one day but for now I’m saying goodbye to halo.
@@popcornpop_1424 For me it’s a solid 9/10. Dishonored is a first person assassin game set in the 1830’s, the game also includes magic like: teleportation, X-ray vision, possession and more. The highlight is the amount of freedom you have with the game, you can kill people or go nonlethal and killing effects the outcome of the story. Going nonlethal is harder but you get a better and more satisfying ending. Definitely worth a try.
I understand not being interested in the current direction of the series. The first mistake that 343 made was connecting the game narrative to the novels, with the games becoming just the tip of the narrative iceberg. I remember feeling so confused the first time I played Halo 4. With that connection between the games and the novels came 343’s second mistake: tearing away the veil of mystery that used to separate players from the Forerunners. The Forerunners should not have left the backdrop of the games and become characters in the spotlight. The third mistake was erasing Cortana’s sacrifice, then making her into a godlike villain. The fourth mistake was creating the Spartan IVs, which made the Spartans into something relatively common, rather than being a fairly small group of elite soldiers that have managed to survive the ravages of decades of war. Also, besides the dumb things 343 did with the story of Halo, I haven’t liked the new art style, which made the Covenant look very different, like they came from some alternate reality. The game mechanics have taken a hit too, with turrets overheating, some weapons being weaker and/or having less ammo, and some vehicles being weaker and being less intuitive to control. Why fuck with the basic mechanics of the games, which people have generally been pleased with?

That’s so true about the regression from the Forerunners, to the Precursors (seems like just another word for Forerunners), to the Endless (another word for Infinite). What really grabbed my attention in Infinite wasn’t the Endless, but rather the Skimmers. Every time I saw them, I thought of the flying monkeys from The Wizard of Oz. Are the Skimmers supposed to be 343’s way of fucking with the fans for all the grief we’ve given them over Halo 4 and 5? Also, I feel good knowing that Bungie never intended the Forerunners to be characters in the game. I miss Bungie so much. I understand that they wanted to do more than just Halo, but I wish they could’ve had a division continuing to make Halo, while other divisions made other games.
I watched the video and understand how you feel. My advice if you want it is do what makes you feel happy, and I think since you said you like being creative and making things, you should make videos on literally anything casually. People will love it and it cannot risk hurting your channel since the alternative is zero uploads which hurt it more. Also youtube only punish you for transitioning to new topics for a certain amount of time, then they stop. But I will ask, during the video you said you have no plans to make any of your active series, but does that mean you have no plans to make any videos at all right now but maybe in the future? Creating content for an audience on CZcams is...complicated. You make what you want, people who like it subscribe, and the snowball get's bigger. And this unfortunately means that any change in direction of content (or personal self) can come off as "insulting" to some. It's really backwards. It is super humble of you to go out of your way to make an apology video for us, but I think you owe us _no_ such thing. To be fair, I cannot blame you for feeling detracted from Halo; for me, ever since Halo 5: Guardians botched a lot of things that it messed a lot of what I enjoyed about it for the future projects. Granted, I ejoyed Halo Wars 2; as Spirit of Fire was MIA for 2+ decades, it felt detached from H5 enough for it to work, and I like its story, I like the Banished, and I like how it made me enjoy Halo. However, Infinite is, as of right now, a grey area in how the campaign's been presented; I've heard from a friend it fixes what Halo 5 ruined for a lot, but I just find it too jarring to imagine they didn't just try to remake Halo 5 in what it SHOULD HAVE BEEN, rather than fix the mess in the next game...I should be grateful for that at least (if it's true), but I guess Halo means too much to me to feel like that.

I don't think someone should apologize for their opinion or a joke or somthing especially if its clearly a joke. And Infinites current state is just straight up bad. Doesn't mean it is a bad game... Completly. Monitisation, Lag, Cheaters, Gamemodes and lack of content as well as hiding everything behind a paywall just because some idiot thought it was a good idea to make halos multiplayer for free. And honestly that o saw coming. But the campaign was actually great. To me at least. I liked that you could basically go any direction without losing this halo feeling. DLC for the Campaign with different Environments would be great. But they would probably be monitized... Then there is the lack of customisation or at least how that system works. Armorcores are cool and all but why cant i slap that helmet onto another core? Don't tell me it doesn't work the AI does it. Why can't i? See how much there is one could think about on the top of their head. And that just scratched the surface. Armorcoatings no colors you can choose by yourself and don't tell me it is not possible the coatings use exactly the same scratches and ripples. Uneccessary changes to campaign and multyplayer. Nerfs that are completly breaking how halo workes. And so on. There is a lot to do until that game comes to a point of where we can say it is good. It is not! And there is nothing to apologize for that. Because its a fact. I hope it gets better but until then it is exactly the same for me. I don't blame you for stepping away from halo, I did when I finished the campaign on infinite, didn't even bother with online, just feel like halo is dead now and I think it has been slowly dying all the way back since the release of halo 4, reach was the last good halo game released in my opinion.

It is mostly ex and current leadership at 343 that is leading the series into a pitfall(Not a surprise for most). A lot of heads have been fired or left 343 ind. Microsoft I'm sure isn't playing a role in the 'downfall' of the series. For obvious reasons 343 wants a T for teen rating thus no flood. Talking to ex devs I'm also aware of the engine simply not working, it's off handedly mentioned by several CZcamsrs as-well, however I don't think most of them understand how big a deal it is. I would recommend The Act Man's most recent video as he basically hits most of what I agree on, it is a fairly negative video so don't watch it if your would rather keep your halo emotions 'pure'. It has also been reported that heads take credit for other peoples work, and as for wage theft I personally haven't heard anything. 343 wants to make people think that they are 'open' and 'honest' which they are anything but. Some ex-heads(I can't name them for obvious reasons) are also responsible for the microtransactions. As for Microsoft's involvement in Halo Infinite, talking to devs there is/was little to none. Observations say things are on the up though, and if 'modern games' (Releasing an unfinished game and fixing it later) collapses then we will likely go back to the high quality gaming scene we used to see during Halo 1-R. And as for HW3, I have heard nothing about it sadly as it likely isn't being made. Anyways, how is your day? hey man we all make mistakes what matters is that we learn from them this video is a good example of that. also we all get a case of creative itch from time and time again in fact if you do take a different path with your gaming channel then i'll look forward to it for sure.
Personally, I am just done with Halo in general. Infinite just isn't trying hard enough to be unique in areas it needs to be, the fanbase keeps trying to convince everyone that it's still the fun community it use to be (when it's actually the exact opposite), and there is only so many times I can play the previous games before getting bored of them.
I haven't played the game since beta. As a Halo fan I found it best to not support that product in any way. This game is horrible. That's it. I'll never support 343 again on future halo titles. 343 made it clear that their doing halo their way. The amount of missing content is a joke. What was also delivered was a joke too.

Infinites in a terrible place, you’re not wrong. I don’t blame you for wanting to move away from the franchise. In my opinion, infinites multiplayer is the best halos multiplayer has ever been, the issue is how they’ve handled the cosmetics, content, updates, marketing, progression, etc etc pretty much everything, but the core gameplay and balancing is perfect in my mind. The campaign is complete and utter trash and the only redeeming quality it has is the gameplay but even then it has no set pieces other than the boss fights to ever shake anything up so it just feels so stale and uninspired a few hours in. 343 is such an awful studio, and it makes me so sad that they’re in control of halo, but infinite in particular, cause the game has all the pieces it needs to be absolutely incredible, but it’ll never reach the heights it needs to thanks to who’s in control of it.
I said it in a diff post but its mostly the heads at 343, a significant portion of 343 employees do wanna see the game succeed and genuinely care. The heads at 343 also make it hard for different bits of the company to commentate, and some ex or current heads might be anti-union(Union comment is speculation).
Honestly dude, I dont nessecarily think the halo announcer making funny qwerps about older halo games then going "Ball dropped, Ball dropped, Ball dropped, Game over" would really offend that many people, especially when it's honest to god true. H4 had some issues that splintered the fanbase over 4 and reach, MCC for several then-big halo youtubers was the straw that broke the camels back with how broken it was at launch. We lost mikew3b, arbiter617 fell to other interests, Evan Royalty, and others all keept going away halo 5 and onwards with the changes that didnt have people come back. Then suddenly, infinite appears and everyones interest, and I mean everyone, old and new fans alike, come back, all for it to be squandered by poor management, delays in content, and once again bad matchmaking, just like MCCs true launch. Sure, people had fun with those games, I know I did, but poking fun at the games themselves I feel shouldn't hurt anyones feelings that enjoys them if its content relating to the game itself, and not the audience.

To be honeat I would not mind you branching outside of halo. The original reason why I found your content interesting, I kid you not, was the Bionicle references hidden within your videos. I would be contempt with anything you went with if there was something like that in each video.

You grew out of halo. It happens. It's common and natural for tastes to change. Just accept that Halo infinite isn't so wildly different to the other games that it warrants this response. I don’t think you needed to apologize for this. Halo just IS in a bad place right now. I really like Infinite’s campaign and gameplay but even I have to admit that there’s just nothing bringing me back regularly.
Have you thought of maybe making videos on other games besides Halo? I know your channel has a big connection to Halo but I would watch videos of you talking about other games.
I'm the guy who made that armor color edit you used in one of your old videos when we were still excited for Halo Infinite. I got off Twitter, and have a different name on CZcams, but that was me. I am no longer excited for Halo's future under 343. It's just not the same. Armor coatings were a kick in ass for me after I made that edit because it showed that a feature I came to expect and enjoy from the series was no longer a priority, and if small features didn't matter then the big features would follow once they fell out of style for 343, as they do with each of their games. Halo isn't Halo anymore, and not even the current reorganization of 343's leadership has gotten me back into actually playing the game. I just use forge for unrelated Halo things outside of gameplay. I don't even do AI battles, the feature I've wanted since Halo 3 and the videos of modded Halo CE PC Blood Gulch battles. They killed the magic, and their fans and defenders have done nothing to try to convince old fans that it's worth playing with them. They're equally as toxic as they claim we are. The difference is we lost what we liked about Halo, they haven't yet.

As hard as it is to admit this, I agree. Halo has lost me and I’ve moved on to other games that I find really fun, DOOM, Dishonored, Assassins Creed. I might return one day but for now I’m saying goodbye to halo.

For me it’s a solid 9/10. Dishonored is a first person assassin game set in the 1830’s, the game also includes magic like: teleportation, X-ray vision, possession and more. The highlight is the amount of freedom you have with the game, you can kill people or go nonlethal and killing effects the outcome of the story. Going nonlethal is harder but you get a better and more satisfying ending. Definitely worth a try.

I understand not being interested in the current direction of the series. The first mistake that 343 made was connecting the game narrative to the novels, with the games becoming just the tip of the narrative iceberg. I remember feeling so confused the first time I played Halo 4. With that connection between the games and the novels came 343’s second mistake: tearing away the veil of mystery that used to separate players from the Forerunners. The Forerunners should not have left the backdrop of the games and become characters in the spotlight. The third mistake was erasing Cortana’s sacrifice, then making her into a godlike villain. The fourth mistake was creating the Spartan IVs, which made the Spartans into something relatively common, rather than being a fairly small group of elite soldiers that have managed to survive the ravages of decades of war.
Also, besides the dumb things 343 did with the story of Halo, I haven’t liked the new art style, which made the Covenant look very different, like they came from some alternate reality. The game mechanics have taken a hit too, with turrets overheating, some weapons being weaker and/or having less ammo, and some vehicles being weaker and being less intuitive to control. Why fuck with the basic mechanics of the games, which people have generally been pleased with?

That’s so true about the regression from the Forerunners, to the Precursors (seems like just another word for Forerunners), to the Endless (another word for Infinite). What really grabbed my attention in Infinite wasn’t the Endless, but rather the Skimmers. Every time I saw them, I thought of the flying monkeys from The Wizard of Oz. Are the Skimmers supposed to be 343’s way of fucking with the fans for all the grief we’ve given them over Halo 4 and 5? Also, I feel good knowing that Bungie never intended the Forerunners to be characters in the game. I miss Bungie so much. I understand that they wanted to do more than just Halo, but I wish they could’ve had a division continuing to make Halo, while other divisions made other games.
I watched the video and understand how you feel. My advice if you want it is do what makes you feel happy, and I think since you said you like being creative and making things, you should make videos on literally anything casually. People will love it and it cannot risk hurting your channel since the alternative is zero uploads which hurt it more. Also youtube only punish you for transitioning to new topics for a certain amount of time, then they stop.
But I will ask, during the video you said you have no plans to make any of your active series, but does that mean you have no plans to make any videos at all right now but maybe in the future? To be fair, I cannot blame you for feeling detracted from Halo; for me, ever since Halo 5: Guardians botched a lot of things that it messed a lot of what I enjoyed about it for the future projects. Granted, I ejoyed Halo Wars 2; as Spirit of Fire was MIA for 2+ decades, it felt detached from H5 enough for it to work, and I like its story, I like the Banished, and I like how it made me enjoy Halo. However, Infinite is, as of right now, a grey area in how the campaign's been presented; I've heard from a friend it fixes what Halo 5 ruined for a lot, but I just find it too jarring to imagine they didn't just try to remake Halo 5 in what it SHOULD HAVE BEEN, rather than fix the mess in the next game...I should be grateful for that at least (if it's true), but I guess Halo means too much to me to feel like that.

I don't think someone should apologize for their opinion or a joke or somthing especially if its clearly a joke. And Infinites current state is just straight up bad. Doesn't mean it is a bad game... Completly. Monitisation, Lag, Cheaters, Gamemodes and lack of content as well as hiding everything behind a paywall just because some idiot thought it was a good idea to make halos multiplayer for free. And honestly that o saw coming. But the campaign was actually great. To me at least. I liked that you could basically go any direction without losing this halo feeling. DLC for the Campaign with different Environments would be great. But they would probably be monitized... Then there is the lack of customisation or at least how that system works. Armorcores are cool and all but why cant i slap that helmet onto another core? Don't tell me it doesn't work the AI does it. Why can't i? See how much there is one could think about on the top of their head. And that just scratched the surface. Armorcoatings no colors you can choose by yourself and don't tell me it is not possible the coatings use exactly the same scratches and ripples. Uneccessary changes to campaign and multyplayer. Nerfs that are completly breaking how halo workes. And so on. There is a lot to do until that game comes to a point of where we can say it is good. It is not! And there is nothing to apologize for that. Because its a fact. I hope it gets better but until then it is exactly the same for me. It is mostly ex and current leadership at 343 that is leading the series into a pitfall(Not a surprise for most). A lot of heads have been fired or left 343 ind. Microsoft I'm sure isn't playing a role in the 'downfall' of the series. For obvious reasons 343 wants a T for teen rating thus no flood. Talking to ex devs I'm also aware of the engine simply not working, it's off handedly mentioned by several CZcamsrs as-well, however I don't think most of them understand how big a deal it is. I would recommend The Act Man's most recent video as he basically hits most of what I agree on, it is a fairly negative video so don't watch it if your would rather keep your halo emotions 'pure'. It has also been reported that heads take credit for other peoples work, and as for wage theft I personally haven't heard anything. 343 wants to make people think that they are 'open' and 'honest' which they are anything but. Some ex-heads(I can't name them for obvious reasons) are also responsible for the microtransactions. As for Microsoft's involvement in Halo Infinite, talking to devs there is/was little to none. Observations say things are on the up though, and if 'modern games' (Releasing an unfinished game and fixing it later) collapses then we will likely go back to the high quality gaming scene we used to see during Halo 1-R. And as for HW3, I have heard nothing about it sadly as it likely isn't being made.

Personally, I am just done with Halo in general. Infinite just isn't trying hard enough to be unique in areas it needs to be, the fanbase keeps trying to convince everyone that it's still the fun community it use to be (when it's actually the exact opposite), and there is only so many times I can play the previous games before getting bored of them.
I haven't played the game since beta. As a Halo fan I found it best to not support that product in any way. This game is horrible. That's it. I'll never support 343 again on future halo titles. 343 made it clear that their doing halo their way. The amount of missing content is a joke. What was also delivered was a joke too.

Infinites in a terrible place, you’re not wrong. I don’t blame you for wanting to move away from the franchise.
In my opinion, infinites multiplayer is the best halos multiplayer has ever been, the issue is how they’ve handled the cosmetics, content, updates, marketing, progression, etc etc pretty much everything, but the core gameplay and balancing is perfect in my mind.
The campaign is complete and utter trash and the only redeeming quality it has is the gameplay but even then it has no set pieces other than the boss fights to ever shake anything up so it just feels so stale and uninspired a few hours in.
343 is such an awful studio, and it makes me so sad that they’re in control of halo, but infinite in particular, cause the game has all the pieces it needs to be absolutely incredible, but it’ll never reach the heights it needs to thanks to who’s in control of it.
I said it in a diff post but its mostly the heads at 343, a significant portion of 343 employees do wanna see the game succeed and genuinely care. The heads at 343 also make it hard for different bits of the company to commentate, and some ex or current heads might be anti-union(Union comment is speculation).

Honestly dude, I dont nessecarily think the halo announcer making funny qwerps about older halo games then going "Ball dropped, Ball dropped, Ball dropped, Game over" would really offend that many people, especially when it's honest to god true. H4 had some issues that splintered the fanbase over 4 and reach, MCC for several then-big halo youtubers was the straw that broke the camels back with how broken it was at launch. We lost mikew3b, arbiter617 fell to other interests, Evan Royalty, and others all keept going away halo 5 and onwards with the changes that didnt have people come back. Then suddenly, infinite appears and everyones interest, and I mean everyone, old and new fans alike, come back, all for it to be squandered by poor management, delays in content, and once again bad matchmaking, just like MCCs true launch. Sure, people had fun with those games, I know I did, but poking fun at the games themselves I feel shouldn't hurt anyones feelings that enjoys them if its content relating to the game itself, and not the audience.

To be honeat I would not mind you branching outside of halo. The original reason why I found your content interesting, I kid you not, was the Bionicle references hidden within your videos. I would be contempt with anything you went with if there was something like that in each video.

You grew out of halo. It happens. It's common and natural for tastes to change. Just accept that Halo infinite isn't so wildly different to the other games that it warrants this response.
