First of all, Nigeria is not a normal country. Normally, inflation is caused by too much money in circulation but in the case of Nigeria, people don't have money to spend. Yet we claim to have inflation. It doesn't make any sense.

The inflation in this case was caused by insecuirty, bad roads and other infrastructures, poor electricity and devilish policies from a devilish government.

Buying suvs for senators and house of representatives amounted into thrileons dollars from Japanese country has increased that country's balance of trade and payment there by increased the inflation in our country to galloping inflation, we have our locally produced vehicles of which the money is in circulation in the country could have brought down the inflation in our country.

The organized labor asking for a minimum wage of N615,000 per month across the board is a joke and unrealistic because the coast of living in the 36 states and the FCT are not the same. The Federal Government can determine the minimum wage workers should be paid in the country regardless of where you live and the states according to the resources available to them can determine the minimum for all workers in the state. This is the way it done. The problem with the civil service is that they are paid salary whether or not they work 40 hours a week, the employer gets less hours of work and the union making noise now about pay increase has never address the man-hour lost the government incurs on every work day. For equity all government workers should not all be paid salary, some should be paid by hours worked while other are on monthly salary. Coming back to my comment on the Federal and State Government minimum. For example the national minimum wage in the United States $7.25 (This means wages paid in the United States regardless of the State it should not be less than $7.25/hourly) Base on this base rate, the state now decide on the minimum in their respective state which must not be less than the national minimum wage. For example the minimum wage for hourly workers in California is $16.00 per hour, the minimum weight in the State of Texas is $7.25 per hour which the national minimum wage. However the advantage is that the cost of living in Houston is not as high as it is in California. There is no income tax for workers in California. It is amazing that the organized labor in Nigeria never talk about income tax which most workers in the country never pay. When it comes to housing, the government never provide housing for their employees but government engage in low income housing program which open to the citizen regardless of who you work for. The guest giving an example of how the government can assist workers with transportation by way of bicycle or any other form, that is where the consumer credit that the president is proposing kicks in for all worker to use credit as opposed to paying cash for day to day necessities. There is no way the organized labor will get any approval close to what they are asking for.

  • @terwasevictorsesugh3902

This is a proposal. What is the Fg proposing. Let's be realistic if you want to consider the economy, 615, 000 is still small. Leaving it to the governors, they will want to pay 5000 to workers. Most of these governors can give political appointees SUV worth millions. The governors can pay if they want to.

All these minimum wage matter is pointless, the minimum wage affects less than 25% of Nigerian population, what happens to the other population?
A state like Nasarawa still pays N18,000 minimum wage, so what's the probability that they'll pay over N500,000 in minimum wage? Your guess is as good as mine. I think we should concentrate more on revamping the economy and eliminating monopoly of any sort.

You could have praised the SDP Presidential Candidate as being excellent or even divine...and stopped there.
You could have also compared him with President Tinubu who is presently in charge of running the affairs of the country.
But all of the above wouldn't make you feel you have made a meaningful contribution if you don't helplessly and pathetically mention Peter Obi's name, private citizen who is not part of those presently in government.
What a pity! Peter Obi is your nightmare.
